I have one. I bought it as a work device. It works well enough some think might have a Kangxin board in it but I am not sure as I have no experience with the Kangxin flasks or any other dna clone boards besides this one.Anybody have the scoop on this thing? 50 watts and temp control, seems like a good deal. Anyone know what chip/board its using?

It does seem to have a annoying quirk though. After it goes to sleep you have to hit the button like 10 times to wake it up, your setting is no longer set, and it asks you if it is a new coil. For me it is a pretty annoying thing because as a work beater it is not getting used as often and goes into sleep mode more often. Probably something that will be addressed and later production may fix it.
Aside from some quirks the mod seems to function well enough, the temp protection works, and if it hold up I can deal with the quirks as I like that it is a 50w device. Phil Busardo has it in his que so seeing his numbers on the scope will be interesting. Also if he gets to it I think it will be the first dna style with tp on his scope.
Haha you responded while I typed my question.Your response came in as I was writing mine
You know, I had heard about this device having the same "Quirks" you just mentioned.
And I am thinking that I may just have a newer and updated version.
While I have not timed it, it seems to need an extended period of non use before it goes into sleep mode. A hour or two would be my best guess.
And when that happens, 5 clicks brings it back to life.
Also, I noticed when I first got it and installed the battery, 5 clicks did not turn it on. The device arrived locked so I had to press the + and - buttons at the same time for like 5 seconds, then 5 clicks and then it would power up.
When I have put it away for the night (like 8+hours) I do need to repeat the above process again.
And in both power up instances, the device does remember your settings. But when you remove your battery to swap it out for a charged one, it reverts to the 10 watt setting and needs to figure out which type of coil you are using.
@UncleRJ When yours goes into sleep mode do you have to hit the button like 10 times to wake it? After waking does it save your settings or do you have to do like this one and set everything again including the new/old coil question?
This one is grey and I originally ordered the green but then had to change because the green was not really available. This was my first experience with receiving something from Gear Best.
The thing seems to have like two sleep modes. One after an hour or two which takes 5 clicks to wake up and it remembers my settings.
The other seems to be after a few hours. Then I have to unlock it, 5 clicks and it still remembers my settings.
Ok so I popped my battery out. I then put it back in and it saved my setting. I then vaped it for a minute and then set it down long enough to go into sleep mode. When I woke it up it only took like 5 clicks to wake and it saved my settings. Must have been some weird glitch. So the trade is off @UncleRJ lol
I just got this on Thursday. It came from Gear Best so they may have had older stock. I am just glad that the settings saved. I had read about someone else saying they had the same issue and then battery removal corrected it. Not sure if next time I swap the battery out if it will revert back to previous quirks but for now it has been corrected. How long ago did you get yours?
I really think that there have been at least two different versions of the chip.
And no, there was never ever any chance of a trade!![]()
This device is a trip. I used it all day today and it worked great, but last night I took the batt out and gave it a charge so I did not leave the house half cocked. This morning when I put the batt in it saved my settings, so it must have some type of auxiliary power memory. Here is a trick i have learned to not lose the settings if you hit fire one time and wait 5 seconds then hit it 5 times it will come back on with the same settings you had has worked for me even with battery change for the last two weeks. Hope this helps
It just holds the setting in the chip ram. Even my old Cloupor DNA clone you had to leave the battery out for a good 24hrs to reset the chip. This device is a trip.
