Hey bud, welcome to VU
I am going to answer your question but first I am going to ask you a few questions as well...first off....how long have you been vaping? how long have you been rebuilding? do you have an ohm's meter? do you understand ohm's law? Do you have a firm grasp on at least the basics of battery safety and properties?
if the answer is not very long to the first two and no or not really to the second three please study the links below in careful detail and look this stuff up on youtube as well.
To answer your question in short and in basic as possible without understanding ohm's law...the answer is yes and no. The lower resistance the higher the demand in terms of amp drainage is needed with a lower voltage on your battery to achieve a desired wattage (power)
A higher resistance coil will need a greater voltage with a less drain in terms of amp drainage to achieve a desired wattage.
I am guessing without looking at your profile that you're fairly young (18-25ish) and you walked into a vape shop and said that you wanted to just blow as big of clouds as possible....I say this because it is a trend forming among the younger legal ages that want to just blow "big cloudz brah, cloudz for dayz," because it looks cool, even if you've never smoking anything for a second of your life. I won't tell you what to do, but I will tell you how to do it so you do it safely and don't harm you or those around you.
Ohm's law basically has four elements to it....You have Resistance (which is the ohms), you have voltage (which is the force of the current,) you have amperage (which is the speed at which the current is traveling or drained from your battery in our case,) and you have wattage ,(which is the actual amount of power being produced.) The wattage being produced, or in the case of vaping how much power we want our coils in our atomizers to generate, is achieved by the other three elements working in concert for a desired result.
The IMR/INR and LiPo batteries we use have three separate rattings ...There Mili Amp Hour rating (or mah) and their Continuous Amp Drain rating, and their Voltage Rating. Both types have a maximum voltage rating of 4.2 volts, that is the highest their voltage can be charged to. Their mah rating and continuous amp drain rating can vary by battery. In vaping you want a battery with the highest possible continuous amp drain rating, not the highest mah rating, to stay safe. As your battery drains, the voltage level drops, once it gets down to around 3.3 to 3.5 depending if you're using in a regulated device like the one you have or in just a straight mech they need to be recharged. How it works is think of the voltage level as the force the power is being pushed from the battery, the strength behind it....the mah rating as how much power it has to push, and the continuous drain rating as the speed it can be pushed at. If you have a 2000 mah battery with a continuous drain rating of 20 amps than that battery can be drained at the speed of one amp for 2 hours or as fast as 20 amps for about six minutes...that means the battery would be completely drained in six minutes and the voltage would fall down to zero...now if you let the voltage drop below 3 volts the battery is pretty much dead forever because you have to have some voltage for the battery to charge...you need the force to push the power out and to help the charger push the power back in during charging....so in reality you can drain that battery at a rate of 20 amps for about 5 minutes or 4 and a half befbeore it needs to be charged.
below I am going to include several links...the first two are an ohm's law calculator and the steam engine tool...the other four links are the threads we use as the "unofficial guide to advanced vaping." If you're already using RDA's then you need to know this stuff, it's kind of, well no, it just is important period. Please take the time to study them and vape safe bud....please.
