Haha yeah. I just got carried away with the fire button. Was very comical if anyone had been home. The thing is , I did torch it to make it less springy!! I'm just a little OCD about getting the coils right.

On the flip side, this nickel is whole new ballgame. It's hard as hell to build with- then when I finally get the damn thing situated, half a leg breaks off of something. Who's got tips and tricks for that? I'm thinking of buying a coiling jig just for that. Wonder if there's one out there that will space them out for me? I've been using a machine screw, and that works okay...
Get a jig for sure ... I use mine but hand wrap the coil (instead of using the top cap *kuro coiler style*) with fairly equal spaces. Then just push down on the coil when the wraps are done and it spaces out perfectly even.
It just pushes my buttons. I'm an addict; I get addicted to almost everything. So, the addictions that I CAN control, I do try to control the best I am able.
I am the same way... This is just one of those that I considered accomplished when I had my last cigarette. But I totally get what you mean.
Noob question:
Can I put a 4000mah battery in my kanger subbox mini? At the time I bought it, I got a Sony 2000mah for it, recommended by the vape shop. The manual states only that the battery should be 3.7v; does that restrict me to the 2000mah battery?
There are no 4000 mah 18650 . Any imr battery is fine. What would restrict anything would be the width of the battery but the Subbox shouldn't have this problem. I know the authentic Vape Flask can't fit Samsung 25Rs because they are too wide.

The battery that says 4000 mah is probably just a rewrap. The .5 coil and low watts you're running won't require much amperage so you're good.

Yeah I tried a friends DNA 40 it seemed lacking even at 40w but the ipv3 li uses joules which to me the 40joules is sorta like 34-36w so at 50 joules it feels 45ish watts ... Its not perfect but does provide a way better quality vape imo

Sent from my LabRatory
I forgot the ipv3 li is 50 joules in tc mode... The Snow Wolf works up to 100watts tc and .05ohm. But 50 is better than 40 and it fires down to .1 which makes a huge difference

What clone company did you get your Velocity from?

Yeah the Sig 150 is a beast. Besides the sticky button it's the best engineered device out there for the money. Haven't seen a single failure of one.

I got it from foalcig. I got it with the bottom feeder pin because I want to get a squonk box (the smokless owl) the reason I was looking over there in the first place.

And yeah its been awesome! So glad I got it!

Just got the Aspire Triton in. Going to test it out and let you sub ohm tank people know how it is.

It's top fill which is awesome. You just take off the drip tip assembly and rotate a piece on the top (like an airflow ring) to allow it to be filled, which closes the juice holes that go to the atomizer.

It takes new atomizers .4 .5 and 1.8 (weird)

Anyway figured I'd let you guys know if it's worth buying

Minus the screw. Haha :)

Noice!
Couple few questions for ya though.
What are your thoughts on that van.ice cream?
I tried it on a range of atties, power and res and all I got was custard with vanilla tones.

How deeply are you in love with the cuttwood???;)
Fwiw,it isn't the best I've had but it's in the top5.:D

Wtf is that yellow skully thing hidden in the background?

I was close to biting...
I've read/watched mixed reviews though.
quite a few said it's a leak machine but I take that with a grain as most atty leaks are due to user error.
the abnormal coil res's are a bit odd but I can see the niche market for the 1.8.

Give it a good thrice over and let us know please.;)

Really? I knew they were making nickel coils for it. The .4 is still being manufacturered so I know those were on hold but the 1.8s can't be nickel. Unless they are made out of 80 awg lol. Also seems odd that the 1.8 would read out at .5... Idk there must be something else to it. I'll look into when I get up to the shop tomorrow.

How would the second round start?
Is there another forward contribution?
Is the shipping order re-rolled?
Does all of the left over juice get incinerated??
Can I throw some skulls in???:D

Depends on how we decide but usually contributions are first time only but everthing else can change sometimes if it worked well it will continue I know as of right now there will be one change but nothing major just gonna have to decide when that time comes

And skulls are always welcome

No new initial contributions...that was done just to make sure there was a good variety of stuff in the box to begin with for the first few people who got it. The second round will start with whatever is left in the box. Not sure if we will keep the same order, or rearrange it...that's something @Geauxst and I will have to discuss and decide. Maybe we'll take a vote or something...when the time gets closer we will discuss it and let you all know. No juice will get incinerated...lol. Juice that is bad will get taken out, but anything that is still good will be left in there. You can throw whatever you want in there, even skulls. Well...as long as they aren't real specimens though. ;)

Would it be wrong to ask for a contribution from any new participants then?
I hate to sound like a negative Nancy but other than the juice and some of the DIY, the box was pretty shoddy by the time it got down the list.
aside from some of the juice,80% of the box could be bought for pennies on the dollar.(3 boxes of gloves, wick, nasty used coils, and vape bands/trinkets)
the gear that was there was in rough shape and a LOT of it wasn't even worth it's weight @the scrap yard.
I think there's a reason those items didn't end up in the BST's.

I promise,I'm not trying to be a dick but I can't help but tell it the way I see it.
I wanted to hit a shop and actually spend money to make it better for the next in line but work prevented it and I gotta say,I'm not really all that sorry.
I feel bad for VapeLikeALady but my initial contributions(a bunch of booty gear) were better than what I took.
Add in the $12 and time it took to send it off and it's far from worth the effort imo.

I greatly appreciate both Rza and Geauxst for your time and dedication to set it up and keep it moving and I'm more than willing to be involved in rnd2 but what I received was a far cry from what it looked like a few weeks ago.
I did see some good stuff in there at one point and Im aware that a shoddy member pilfered the box and left it shambles but I can't justify going further if I'm just going to get the same stuff on the next round.
it was all "xmas in july!!!" and I opened my present only to find two left socks...

I'm gonna stop typing now in hopes that I don't further alienate myself from the group.
@ admins.
I'm sorry for the Ill tone but hopefully you can understand my frustration.
yall did a bang up job and my hat's off to you both.

Even if I'm excluded from the next round,I'll throw some skullies in.;)

I think that is what makes a pif box and group grow stronger...honest communication , please don't ever feel like you can't do that, anyone...I've been in more than one box and I can tell you boxes wane and bust at the seams. It is disappointing to see it at the low points but that is kind of the nature of the box. For what it's worth, I'm sorry your experience wasn't great, and I hope that you stay in and the next round exceeds your expectations. I'm glad you shared how you really feel, and maybe others feel the same way... I can tell you that I feel like the next round will be stronger. I do think that if new ppl are added that they should make an initial contribution just as we did but that is only my opinion. I think it shows desire to be a part of this and commitment to the group. I would like to hear if others have opinions on this.

Thanks for the support MB.
I didn't really want to bring it up like that because it feels like I'm belittling everyone involved.
the admins have bent over backwards and it makes me feel even worse about it because there's no one person responsible. But here I am complaining..

I've seen some of those boxes bursting at the seams.
this one looked promising but then I opened it up and it was like Wile E. Coyote when he hits the plunger on the acme TNT and it just goes....fssst....and then nothing..

Bondo this is where I was at with it and was why I tried to fix it. I unfortunately caused some concern by my lack of communication and realized later why.

But I'm always in agreement with what you said... If the things getting added cost more to ship then they cost to buy dump them. Slim down the box to a single small $7 box and let the group know so you're taken care of.

At that point maybe the box can change direction and head to someone who was already prepared to add a bunch. Which will then keep the box alive.

Quick update on the Triton.

So far I've only used the .4 coil... I'm surprised to say that even though the coil design is similar the taste is better and it wicks great.

I'm running a 15/85 juice in it and broke it in and running it @ 30 watts. Will push it up until I burn out the coil in the morning to see it's limits.

Then I'll switch over to the nickel coil and give that a couple days test.

As of right now I'd say buy it. Top loading is great. Airflow is very adjustable and because of the top fill you can fully fill the tank.

Update:

Running at 40 watts now for a while and it's wicking well

That equals out to 4.2 v which means you can use it on a mech. Bonus for those tube and parallel box mods.

45 is too much for it. Just got my first bit of burnt flavor.

I'm going to switch to the nickel tonight and I'll keep you all updated if you want me to?

I haven't read below this post just adding in my 2¢ I'm inclined to agree with you about initial contributions for new people but the fact of the matter is not everyone had to contribute in the first place and it was so the box wasnt empty when it made it to the first few people... So I'm inclined to disagree as well ...maybe if the new members wanted to add that would be acceptable but I don't know that's a discussion we will have to consider

As far as what's in the box I've followed this one closely and I'm in others too the hard truth is the pif boxes have their ups and downs for example when colegirl got it she added in a nearly new Atlantis RTA that she didnt like that momabear ended up loving that tank alone is 20$ on the cheap so its worth it some times but honestly yeah the box was kinda lacking in the gear section because we had some issues along the way that gimped the box preety badly but I think as the box continues and we weed out the bad apples by being more cautious the quality will get better another example is when I was in 5.1 box I literally had some one pick a number they chose 7 and that was the number of items I would donate and then I had 7 people choose random numbers that I put on my gear and what ever the number was I donated those items and some of this items were mods and attys I had just received and didn't get to use that much... But even with all that gear when it made it back to me there was hardly anything in the box worth taking and that box I consider to be the best box on vu

Point is it takes 13$ to ship the box make sure you pull out 13$ worth of stuff. Yeah might not be top notch gear but that's not what the box is for so alot of the gear will be kinda dated but you just never know

Anyway I appreciate your concerns I enjoy reading members thoughts it helps me to try and make the box a better experience for everyone and I will note these concerns to address when we start the next round... Again thank you

I don't know if your temp device does what the ipv3 li does but I can hit the power +&- together to lock the resistance when I went into a shop we put that "1.8" nickel head in and checked resistance and it read 0.054 ... Now I've played around with temp control enough to know 0.054-1.8 is impossible even to go to .18 is asking a bit much so no clue why they call it a 1.8 and why the airflow holes are so small ... I'd really like someone to explain that to me

i think were missing the point,im not expecting to open the box and find a big ticket item,
isnt this about having a little fun and giving away things you don't need any more and possibly finding stuff you might be able to use
its pif box (hand me downs) not box of gold
just my 2cents

Yeah that's basically how I see it like I grew up in vaping going from a small ego tank straight to mechs with RDAs and I missed out on the whole kayfun phase but cause of the box I was able to get an older kayfun to try out with out dropping 20-30$ to find out its not my cup of tea plus I've gotten alot of drip tips and random other supplies from the pif boxes and I've been able to get rid of stuff cluttering my desk that I never use

But I do understand what he's saying cause at times there's hardly any gear its just a box with 80% full of nasty juice noone wants and the other 20% is like wicks that noone wants or gloves that you can get from dollar store but other times they have cool mechs and mods and rdas its always up and down but I always make it worth the 13$ I spend for shipping even if I just grab some drip tips or something to make it worth it

Well that's kinda what I did. I took the whole bag of organic cotton balls (was I supposed to take a few out and leave the rest? Because I was in a hurry so I took the whole bag-which would most likely last a year)

Anyway, I took the stillaire because it looks cool to build on, and the pink clearomizer tank... For my mom, trying to get her to quit the stinkies... Hope that's ok.

I wanted more time to add more stuff but I put a whole box of unused coils, and a 20 juice in there. I feel like I put a lot in so that's why I didn't mind taking what I did.

And yes that's a dewalt drill - lol- I'm going to the beach this week and was trying to get my gear ready for that, which meant twisting some wire real quick.

Anyway, I'm in for the next round. I'm pretty easygoing.

Tbh there is nothing you can do to change what gets added/taken out of the box.

I added
Nemesis
Chi You Mega (with a battery for it)
King Kong (w/battery)
ITaste VV
E-Lvt (waterproof)
New bag of cotton bacon
Kanger Aero Tank Turbo
Mutation X
A bunch of replacement coils for tanks
Cotton (thread scissors)
Dark Horse maybe too
Etc

All of that only lasted through a couple people so even if I would have added the rest it still will only go so far.

If people don't add something (along the lines of what they take) it will dwindle down and those are the only people who can control the PIF part.

But as we've said this is more of a donation box.

Other than that it's up to the group to be as good at giving as they are at receiving. Problem is some people don't have anything to give and they joined to be on the receiving end. Which then later on they can pay that forward to someone else.

I'm cleaning out the tank in a little bit and I'll tell you what it reads at

i think were missing the point,im not expecting to open the box and find a big ticket item,
isnt this about having a little fun and giving away things you don't need any more and possibly finding stuff you might be able to use
its pif box (hand me downs) not box of gold
just my 2cents

Expect nothing and give what you don't use. If you find something you will use by chance then consider it a bonus

People just have to realize that it's $13 to ship. That is the only thing that is guaranteed. So if you come out with nothing let the group know so maybe next round the group can make sure there is something for them.

I added around $300 worth of stuff and took nothing plus paid to ship it. It's more about giving rather than trading.

That is why I said that "if" there is a bunch of filler in it. To then clean it out and only send the decent items in the smaller box. (By decent I mean use able/non 1 use items that have been used *like used kanger single coils or cotton balls that cost $1 at cvs (if they make it so it costs $7 more to ship)

Imho I personally don't think you should just take $13 worth of stuff out of it to make it worth it. Also everyone should only be taking out thing they know they will use on a regular basis (and definitely not for their friends or family)

Anyway, I'm in for the next round. I'm pretty easygoing.

You don't need to justify anything you take from the box. Take what you'll use and leave/add what you won't/don't anymore. As long as you are good with it so are we.

General comment (not towards VLaL or anyone else above)

What's cool is now everyone gets to test out those things they took. If they don't like them then when the box comes back around add them back in. Don't PIF the item outside the group (or toss it in a drawer) until the rest have had a chance to see if they want it. If it makes it all the way back to you, then I think it's appropriate to take it and give it to a friend.

Same thing on my SnowWolf and Vaporshark... Coil reads at 1.8 to 2.0... Grrr going to have to look into this. Obviously it won't work at that range
... What a headache

Okay so I think the whole mix up with the Triton coils is the metal the .4 and .5 coils are made from.
They are using 316L, a stainless steel (which is what people believe G Plat is) that has a lower resistance than Kanthal. So obviously it's not Kanthal, nor is it a temp control wire like pure nickel (Nic 200) or Titanium.

The 1.8 coil IS made from Kanthal. The most likely culprit to the thinking that this was the Nickel coil is due to the blue outer o rings on the coil (which is the color of the Kanger and Atlantis nickel coils... Though Aspire didn't produce the nickel coils themselves for the Atlantis)

This explains the smaller airflow etc. of the 1.8 coil. This is obviously for people who prefer tank juice (mouth to lung people) or for people with a device that cannot fire in the sub ohm range.

They are also now using Japanese Cotton in these coils.

When we find/get the Nickel coils in I'll let you know about them.

Gonna post pics of what I took and added in just a few minutes.

Thanks for letting me participate in this box. I had honestly forgotten I had signed up for it till I got the text message last week.
