I sent a PM to a member here asking the same question, but thought it might be better to bring it up here in the DIY forum.

I have a couple of Cisco spec LR510 bridgeless attys that I thought would be perfect for testing and tweaking new recipes. Well, after trying Kringle's Curse in one of them, I can't seem to get rid of the peppermint flavor. Even after multiple drops of straight PG to clear the flavor out.

So, what do YOU use to taste/tweak your recipes?

I have a single coil nickel build in my wotofo square rda, I just wick the coil so it doesn't drape down to the channels, couple drips and burn it till its dry. With the temp control it burns it almost taste free so not much transition, although I just do bakery so I'm sure fruity vapes would still leave a little taste behind.

I use one of my rdas. With rayon wick there isn't much flavor transfer after a hit or two, and it's not a big ordeal to rewick in between flavors anyway.

So just use short cotton and rewick?

Yeah, you don't go through so much as to waste any, and as I usually use rayon I can use the same one for quite a bit before it needs replaced.

I have this one. Had to drill out the hole - WAY too small!

You can see the scratches where the drill missed the hole on the IGO.

I like my magma in single coil. Just a smidge of cotton, pull/replace it when I test another flavor. Always wanted a cyclone, to pricey for me though.

If I'm at a vape shop I just dab a lil on my finger. Hasn't failed me yet

That's my set up as well - Magma single coil, just enough cotton to stick out of the ends of the coil. Saturate, vape, throw it away and dry burn it to clear out the coils for the next flavor. Too easy.

I got one of those little mini RBAs from FT a while back, talk about a PITA to build on.

Generally my Steamboat RDA and whatever mod I have it attached to. Coils may vary, but usually I either have a single coil 24 gauge @ .6 ohms in it or a dual 24 gauge setup @ .3 ohms. Either rayon or Drago Egyption cotton for the wick. Rayon is much easier to work with, but the Drago (to me) is a superior wicking material even though it's a bit of a pain to work with. I usually only change the wick out if I'm switching between really dissimilar flavors. I can usually get a pretty good idea if something's going to be good or not without having a perfectly clean wick in the dripper.
