Would really like a 2 post dripper and right now I'm between the solstice and the Petri by dotmod.
What would ya'll suggest for flavor and a thick dense vapor, not really cloud chasing but a thick heavy cloud with plenty of flavor. my ideal draw is along the limes of say the AEOLUS v2 fully open or the anarchist cap from flawless.
The petrol's appeal is that it looks like I can center a tc build and get airflow from both sides, this may be an obsolete option however with having a 200w tc mod but it would be mice to co serve the power and still be able to have something that puts out at my disposal. my concern with it is the airflow.
What would anyone suggest and why?

The petri hands down is one of my favorite, along with the dot cap it's nothing less than amazing. I have been looking at getting the v1.5 just for the bigger post holes.

The flavor is just right and the airflow is perfect, are you looking at getting the authentic??

I have seen 2 different clones and they were both garbage:(

It's well worth the 100 bucks and the district 5 summit cap is an amazing addition to it:)

Yes , I'm looking authentic. The one thing that gives me pause is lack of AFC and/or airflow with both þoth. what would you relate the airflow to? With a dotmod tip?

I have the dot cap and the summit cap, both are really great comfy wide bore tips, aww man hard to compare anything as I don't have the aeolus...I know some can't stand rip trippers but he has a great review on the petri, maybe you can get a better idea from checking it out I can tell you that it isn't too restrictive and not to airy...I guess you know how that goes all subjective I'm trying to think of what it compares to.....

I saw it, can't take anything he says too seriously. a b&m here carries the clone, but I can't trust that as a way to judge airflow either. I was going to wait for the v2, thinking that since its been out for a year that may be out soon. have you heard anything about v2?

Sorry man got busy, don't worry man I think you will like it, I just checked out the one I saw I guess they are calling it the v1.5 its on twisted messes website...what color did you roll??

Dammit man, I was at a bbq and wish I would have responded sooner....I have a feeling after you look at twisted messes website and see the 1.5 you might return the one you ordered.....I would:(

The 1.5 looks to be a matte finish also. shit.

Just vaped the shit out of mine and it's the shit man, honestly I think the airflow is about as perfect as it gets. I actually bought mine from my local shop a to was worried on the flow...the more I vaped it the more I fell in love.

Dammit all this talk I might need another one.....

Must............not..............order............:)

Looks to have bigger post holes, matte finish and the knurled top screws, the post holes are a plus for twisted wire if you use the holes, but you can also use the tops of the screws and bypass the holes, it's a dope atty man, so dope in fact that if you hate it I will buy it for what you got into it....so there you go man pre buyers remorse gone!!!!

Are you going to get the wide bore also? If you do the dot cap is bad ass but I have absolutely fell in love with the summit cap from district 5:) the brass or stainless would look kick ass on the gold one.

Gonna see how it is with the dotmod driptips first. I already have three of those. if its too tight I'll get the chuff thingy that they have.
So the airflow is the same in the two?
No remorse, ive spent more on crappier... (dna40(s))

I'm not sure on the flow I might be mad if it was more airy as the flow to me is perfect,

This is a good one too pretty much my thoughts on it

3mm I think for the holes they look to be the same size from the pics I can find on the 1.5

One of my buddies that is the cheapest fucker I know bought an authentic after vaping on mine and let me tell you if he paid a hundo for it it's something special:)

I wojld have probably gotten one, but I got the atty from vaporshark for 80$ and they don't carry the topcaps. I also wanna see how the gold dotmod DT that I have looks on it.
Sad, really, I dont normally like Gold at all; but, I scored a gold AEOLUS v2 and when I put it on my VSdna200 it looks awesome! I was using that as an adv until I realized how easy the topcap pops off, so I figure if the airflow on this is what I think, and I can pull off a good single coil TCbuild like rip did, I could have a good looking kick ads adv here that wont kill a battery.
Considering I'm a few blocks away from the saints home base this just looks hot excited to see the dotmod on here

The dot mod would be sexy in hot pink imo:)

80 bucks dang!! Great price on it man excellent!!!

I did try that build he did and the wicking just didn't seem to work for me but I have done some killer 3mm builds that worked really well just positioned the flow kinda sideways and it worked killer it is one if my go to's for nickel ti builds.

Is that the dripper from cithulo? Looks leak free

Yep. As long as you dont remove the cap to drip all the time it is leak free.
Like any atty the top cap can get juice on the walls and after removing a bunch of times it will come outbthe bottom.
You know when you are drying up with TC though and you get to know how much to drip after using it for a day so I just don't remove the cap and dry as a bone.
That pic is after vaping it for a couple hours over a morning coffee.

The occasional warm exhaust is new. Seems like when I get a little overzealous on my pull I push back just a hair and I get a warm exhaust on my cheek from the exhaust.

Not a loose air like a cloud atty but not MTL tight either. I think they nailed the air flow volume for a flavor chaser.

Doesn't seem to get as hot as my other shorty flavor rda's either. I think if they designed that with 2 posts it would be epic to build single coil right in the middle with air coming from each side.

That's what I'm planning to do with the Petri... a long single coil in the center with air from both sides, that way when you drip you're dripping directly onto the coil.
Something like rip did but with a more efficient wicking.

It is tight enough in there that a centered coil would get good air from both sides. Like with post holes facing center for a dedicated single coil build, that would be the shit :)

Post up when you get it, I'm interested to hear how it works and how the centered single comes out.
Love the color options DotMod gives you, would probably have to go with the deep blue, that's hawt.

They only make the one authentic as far as I know, the mini I think is just clones.

Does that copper drip need constant cleaning?? I ask this because my copper RDA's and tips tarnish black and ugly in just a few days...And they are a
PITA to constantly have to clean ..
Case in point, just look at this copper stillare after 3 days of vaping..
390937d2203448c70c0ebb7a871de911.jpg

It had a copper DT too but it was always so black and dirty looking I had trouble with not wanting to even touch it, let alone vape the nasty thing..
I replaced it with this Stainless DT, but the RDA itself still needs constant cleaning..I dont think I like copper much these days..lol

I take it you mean brass? And just the characteristics of brass and or copper is they tarnish, not much to do about it unless you wanted to polish them everyday.. I love the patina of brass and copper some do not. Every now and then I will polish them up to a gleaming shine just for fun and watch them patina in a couple of days. About the only way to keep copper or brass clean would be to polish and then clear coat them but it wouldn't even be worth it due to if its polished good luck getting any paint or coating to stick. That atty looks like it should after normal use nothing I guess you could say is wrong with it but just normal. Personally I think it looks wonderful:)

About all you can do is go with stainless if your not into the patina look.

Is this what you call the "patina look"?
It's my copper XXIX mech, after vaping it for about a week...usually I polish it some but not recently

After alot of polishing it looks good, but I'm not into polishing it very often..vaping it even less lately, lol

I've been thinking about the DotMod lately. They seem so perfect... If there was one atomizer that was the poster for a 10/10 rating across the board, I get the impression from all the pictures, the videos, everything... That this would be it.

I want one sooo bad, but dang I can't pull the trigger with the price tags.

I hope soon I will.

Can someone tell me, this atomizer is geared towards flavor, correct?

My next few RDAs are definitely going to be geared towards flavor, I think I will be buying a Freakshow Mini first, I hear they provide great flavor. And I think I can get one for like $15.

Sorry, a bit off topic. I do indeed lust for a Petri.

Yea man, its worth every penny I spent so much this thread is making me want the v1.5, not really any huge improvements but I would love to have 2, 1 for temp builds and one for my standard builds, and a change of color would be cool not sure which color I would want but I have black right now thinking gold or red.....I will tell you though that it is is the most perfect balance of flavor and vapor I own, my next favorite is the velocity but I still think this has it beat for flavor.

you will love it man, as I said above my buddy bought one and he his sooooo cheap I never thought I would ever see him buy any authentics but he loved it so much he had to have one, he has been rocking it for months he even spent the extra 25 and bought the dot cap for it:)

I wish the clones were better though, a guy at my work bought one and it is bad to say the least, all the tolerances are sloppy and it has massive voltage drop compared to the authentic, I'm not sure why but I don't even want to know what is going on under the delrin insulator I just don't trust it...

This is an authentic worth the price in every way its a gem:)

And I love the freakshow mini it does produce great flavor and you can't beat the price!!

I have a pair of Fsminis, if you get one get the chuff cap. The stock cap is so low that if your cpils aren't in just the right place it'll arc arc across the top. Other than that it is a great RDA! I like the mini more than the standard.

Forgot to add this, you will need a really stubby drip tip or friction tip just look at it once installed and make sure it isn't protruding too much, it will also restrict flow if it isn't quite touching but right at the post. the chuff cap is a really good upgrade for this one.

Man hard to pick I would say that the velocity has been my favorite as of lately but I think I like the petri and the velocity about the same, I like the adjustable flow on the velocity but the petri is just so damn perfect.....

tie between the two and I don't have many other rda's to judge, I have a lethal which is a really good flavor atty and the doge is just too damn much never could get it to do anything other than produce clouds:) the mini is a great flavor atty also. most of my other ones are budget authentics but the bullet is a neat one for the price.

I have been looking at some smaller attys like the lowpro which is a derringer style but its hard to buy anything else once you have the petri and the velocity, I think my next purchase is going to be some sort of dna200 box I'm just waiting for more to come out:)

Depending on how hard you vape during the day look at the battery capacity on thr DNAs....i don't mind the 900mah on thr shark but it charges so fast and I work in an office that the battery size is a non-issue for me. If I needed a sure fire all day without charging dnabox I would be looking at something with a minimum of 1800 Mah or holding out for the 133w dual battery rendition.

Awwwwwww yea that's what I like to hear, it won't leave it once you get it you might as well put the OG top cap back in the glass tube and forget about it:)

Although I blow the dust off and use it sometimes as I like a good drip tip compared to the chuff, the black petri drip tip you have looks wonderful on it!!
