When we bought our first, "entry level," vape gear, the guy at the store said "don't worry if it occasionally snaps or pops. That's normal." When I upgraded the tank on my EVOD VV from the cheap, $5 throw-away to a Mini Protank 3: There was still some, but no more than there had been.
I bought an eVic-VTC Mini and put the Mini Protank 3 on that. Started bumping the wattage. When it got too hot/harsh I backed it off a bit. Ended up at about 9.5W. It *snap* *crackle* *pops*s (hereinafter: "SCP") a lot more than it did on the EVOD. I could actually run it up to 10W and still not get a harsh vape, but then it was alarmingly noisy.
I mentioned this to the guy at the LVS and he said a lot of SCP means too much power. (It was after that, actually, that I dropped it from 10W to 9.5W.)
Now I have an Eleaf GS-Tank. I left the .15Ω coil in and am running it in TC mode. Using the same juice I have been all along: A 70/30 (PG/VG). Vape is rich and a bit warm at 460°F. It SCPs a little.
Interestingly: With use I've had to bump the temp up. At first even 420°F was too much. Now 460°F tastes and feels about like 400°F originally did.
Not certain what I'm asking, here. I guess these are just observations and I'm wondering what y'all think?
