Stainless Steel - What Type of Vape to Expect?

I really enjoyed temp control vaping with nickel wire but recently gave it up. Without going into detail about that, I'm going to try out SS TC as soon as I get setup. I really enjoyed the cool and very flavorful vape that I got from nickel and was wondering if SS is similar or warmer? I'm aware settings, resistance, ect all play a part but could anyone give me a general idea of what to expect?

Thanks.

I only use stainless when I vape in temp control and it can vary slightly from tank to tank. My Crown gives better flavor when it's a tiny bit warm, but it's nowhere near hot. The eGo One in SS TC with my preferred settings is cool and lovely (perfect for minty or fruit vapes). The Starre tank seems to vape the warmest out of my tanks and the tank seems to heat up more than the others in TC mode at a nice flavor setting but it tastes terrific. The Lemo stays pretty cool with a SS TC build. Those are the 4 tanks I've used with stainless wire in TC mode. I also much prefer cool vapes.

I will say that 26 and 24 gauge SS wire is all I use anymore. 26 gauge is ideal for RBA heads. The stock Crown heads work perfectly in SS TC mode. I have to rebuild the other tank coils with SS wire. If you like to buy premade heads then the Crown would be my choice hands down.

I use crown stock coils and the Crius rta with 24 g ss both in TC. It's vey smooth and nice. Of the three wire Ni200, Ti and ss I prefer the ss more due to flavor. The ss uses a bit more power but the flavor trade off is definitely worth it. Such a clean smooth vape in TC

I use 24 gauge to rebuild the Starre and sometimes Crown prebuilt heads. It's the actual RBA heads that always get 26 gauge. I've also used 26 gauge on the prebuilt heads but you have to widely space the wire to keep it under 1 ohm. Do you prefer 24 gauge SS wire in RBA heads? I find that the 26 gauge gets me right at .5 ohms which is nice for battery life and it also delivers excellent flavor.

I wholeheartedly agree about SS having better flavor than Ni or Ti wire. I can't touch Ni or Ti wire at all anymore, although I still love kanthal for twisted or Clapton builds. For temp control stainless steel blows the competition away.

I preferred is 24 g in my rta. If I'm using the crown rba then it's 26. Also I use 26 if it's gong on a single battery mod to save battery and also keep the amp draw down.
I have used twisted 26 and wow was that great flavor. It use a lot of power to drive it but it was stellar. I want to try a 26 g ss core with 36 n80 Clapton. Thinking that might be stellar. For now all I use is ss wire. Tried to go back to Ti but it's no where close to the flavor or vapor production of the ss.

I just got the Freemax Starre RBA in the mail and threw in a SS coil right away. I decided to use 24 gauge wire (because of your input and also because it uses huge coils). It's bangin! Came out to .60 ohms which was surprising. I thought it would be lower but it's right where I like it for my VTC Mini.

My Crius is dual coil so that's about right. Most my dual builds are around .2 with 9 wraps around 2.5 so that would be .4 if a single coil. Give or take a few wraps and bingo. Glad you are liking that ss Vape. It's all I will use now

Thanks for the break down on the tanks. I do mainly buy coils but also enjoy making my own. For that reason I'll probably get a crown. Once I get my Evic I'll test out the stainless steel triton coils. Glad to hear the RBA on the Starre is working out, I've yet to order mine but it's sitting in my shopping cart at sweet vapes. I'm really looking forward to the stainless steel; I really enjoyed nickel and I'm glad to hear there is a safer / better alternative.

For the crown tank and stock coils, is there a difference between the single and double coil when it's used with TC? Does one work better than the other?

Thanks guys.

The Crown is a great choice. Best tank I own. For the stock SS coils, only the .25 & .5 double coil heads will work in temp control. That's only because the single coil head is 1.2 ohm and that's above the maximum 1 ohm temp control limit. A rebuilt head (or the RBA) with a stainless steel single coil that is below 1 ohm will work fine in TC. It's all about the ohms rather than how many coils are in the head. Stainless steel, nickel & titanium coils all have to be below 1 ohm for temp control to work. I hope that makes sense. I'm pretty sleepy. (◡ ‿ ◡ )
