Stainless Steel - What Type of Vape to Expect?

I really enjoyed temp control vaping with nickel wire but recently gave it up. Without going into detail about that, I'm going to try out SS TC as soon as I get setup. I really enjoyed the cool and very flavorful vape that I got from nickel and was wondering if SS is similar or warmer? I'm aware settings, resistance, ect all play a part but could anyone give me a general idea of what to expect?

I only use stainless when I vape in temp control and it can vary slightly from tank to tank. My Crown gives better flavor when it's a tiny bit warm, but it's nowhere near hot. The eGo One in SS TC with my preferred settings is cool and lovely (perfect for minty or fruit vapes). The Starre tank seems to vape the warmest out of my tanks and the tank seems to heat up more than the others in TC mode at a nice flavor setting but it tastes terrific. The Lemo stays pretty cool with a SS TC build. Those are the 4 tanks I've used with stainless wire in TC mode. I also much prefer cool vapes.

I will say that 26 and 24 gauge SS wire is all I use anymore. 26 gauge is ideal for RBA heads. The stock Crown heads work perfectly in SS TC mode. I have to rebuild the other tank coils with SS wire. If you like to buy premade heads then the Crown would be my choice hands down.

Came out to .60 ohms which was surprising. I thought it would be lower but it's right where I like it for my VTC Mini.

Came out to .60 ohms which was surprising. I thought it would be lower but it's right where I like it for my VTC Mini.

My Crius is dual coil so that's about right. Most my dual builds are around .2 with 9 wraps around 2.5 so that would be .4 if a single coil. Give or take a few wraps and bingo. Glad you are liking that ss Vape. It's all I will use now

Thanks for the break down on the tanks. I do mainly buy coils but also enjoy making my own. For that reason I'll probably get a crown. The Crown is a great choice. Best tank I own. For the stock SS coils, only the .25 & .5 double coil heads will work in temp control. That's only because the single coil head is 1.2 ohm and that's above the maximum 1 ohm temp control limit. A rebuilt head (or the RBA) with a stainless steel single coil that is below 1 ohm will work fine in TC. It's all about the ohms rather than how many coils are in the head. Stainless steel, nickel & titanium coils all have to be below 1 ohm for temp control to work. I hope that makes sense. I'm pretty sleepy. (◡ ‿ ◡ )
