I stopped out at Sally Beauty Supply today (to get stared at as the only male in the store) and bought the smallest box of cellucotton rayon I could find...five hundred feet.
So far, I've rewicked five of my Kangers with the stuff. And wow! The flavor just pops.
However, I've got a few questions:
1) I've noticed you have to use a fair amount to get the proper draw, much more tightly packed than cotton or silica. Is that right or am I doing something wrong here?
2) On small coils (the Kanger featuring 1.5 mm or smaller), is there an easy way to draw the rayon through after freeing the old cotton or silica? I've been making the pointed end and pushing that through, but it takes a fair bit of twisting and failure and annoyance.
3) I've seen some reports of 100 ml lifespans for rayon, but don't believe it. How long should I reasonably expect this to last on a clear liquid that's gently flavored?
Thanks!
