Love my Marin! Had it since '99 & it's still going strong; although now it's painted flat black with a Sig Sauer sticker on it. Had too many bikes stolen from me in the past.
I love Marin too. People around here only steal Walmart bikes. They have no clue what they're looking at when a real one is in front of them.

I just got home from buying this. Bicycling is too much work in my old age.

It just amazes me how much bikes can cost. I know I'll never ride so much that I could justify a high end bike. I see this bike as a decent mid grade mtb.
The one I'm looking at is in pretty new shape for about $400.
I've looked at some new ones that are the stepped down components that I could get for $450. Been wavering on that a lil bit.

Get the used. The components are always worth it.

I can take it.
Go ahead.
Sup poi-boi? Still remodeling?

An undisclosed source has confided that Herk' has the bigger weiner . . . . . ;)

Remodeling is done for now. Bringing back the stuff from storage and figuring out where to put it all is another story - I have a feeling that the kitchen cabinets and drawers are going to have more than kitchen stuff inside them.

I've got to find a better way to store my diy supplies. Have outgrown the plastic box and its a mess and takes forever to find anything. So far haven't decided the best route for all those little bottles

I never found a satisfactory solution.

I did pif a ton of flavoring I don't use to a young kid at work. That helped.

I've seen people use nail polish racks. But I'm worried about the flavorings being in the light. I've already had a couple go wonky after a few months and that's being shut away in a closet
I have 4-5 Stanley, adjustable, storage boxes.
(This is where I'd post a link iffin I knewed how).
They have been my best solution. I use them for DIY stuff, atties. Wick, wire....etc.

I've got a tacklebox for all the wire coils etc. That will probably be my best bet for the flavors too. Now to figure out where to store it all lol. Which reminds me after spending way too much today I need to order more vg and nic.

Thanks!

Now, the wife just said why are you getting a mtb? You're only gonna ride it on the greenway. Just get a road bike.

She makes a good point. But, I still have my old 80's Raleigh Record that serves its purpose and I have no desire to start serious road riding. Playing in traffic ain't my idea of fun.

To answer your question from earlier, the local parks and rec has a 100 miles in 100 days challenge. Walk, bike, paddle. Just a way to get people more active. Can't be part of your normal routine. Can't count the 6 miles you walk in lowes everyday. No prizes, just personal achievement. Signing up has helped motivate me. I haven't been this active since, well, since I gave up nose candy.

Get some hybrid-y or touring tires on it. They'll make pavement nicer and easier. Schwalbe makes my favorite but they're pricey.

I think Continental had some really nice ones too, and the Specialized Armadillos. There's a bunch but those are all super durable.

Mine are in shoe boxes by manufacture. I numbered them all and have a master list that coordinates with the bottles. I have them in a couple filling cabinet drawers in the basement. OCD much? Nahhhhhhj.....lol

More activity involved in running down nose candy.....just sayin....
But since I've given that up as well I need to get more active. Your tales of walking/running have almost inspired me to
do sumpin about it.

I know I posted this before, but it's worked out great for me. 2 nail polish racks attached with hinges. It's stored in a dark closet and only sees the light when I take it out to mix. Makes finding stuff so easy.

Happy Saturday, knuckles!

I am finally diving into watching "The Walking Dead".........I know there are some fans here. I was afraid it was going to be too creepy.......but, it's not and I'm loving it. Just finished Season 2 last night and can't wait to watch more this evening. I know I won't get it all done by the time it returns on the 14th, but I'm happy that I like the show.

Glad you found us, Shane!

I better catch everyone up on my tank. This was the last little fishy I added, and probably final one unless someone kicks the bucket. Little Royal Gramma Basslet. He's a character.

Last fish in the other tank was a puffer but think I shared that already.

Been getting good coral growth too. Can't wait to see things in a year, if I don't crash anything.

And my first SPS corals that I'm excited about. This is from when I got them. They're mounted and buds have been starting to open up.

Some of my stuff are Australian species. I cant remember exactly what but I think some of my prettiest corals originate there.

Probably from the great Barrier reef. It holds all sorts of records.

I don't fully understand what dredging means, but there has been controversy over wanting to dredge the reef

Something cool I never knew was how people into this like me actually help maintain various species of coral. Most of our coral, even though originally was obtained from the ocean, has been grown and pieces cut and sold and then those pieces grown cut and sold and so on. Like lately I've been taking little pieces of my corals and growing them to sell or trade someone else. So that the majority of what most of us buy isn't harvested from the ocean. A minuscule amount is. One little coral can end up being a few hundred corals distributed all over the country in a couple years. If various corals ever started becoming scarce in parts of the ocean we could help reseed them haha. Same with fish, more and more are being successfully tank bred all the time. Like the yellow Tang in Hawaii which was a huge victory this last year. One of the stores in Omaha breeds several types too. Pretty neat!
