The Hotel Chelsea, built between 1883-88 is one of the most iconic of New York City landmarks. Over the years it has been home to a plethora of writers, artists, musicians, and yes, weirdos (the latter said with the utmost affection).
Arthur C. Clark, Jack Kerouac, Thomas Wolfe, and William Burroughs, are some of the authors who lived there at one time or another. Janis Joplin and Leonard Cohen are said to have carried on an affair while staying there, and of course, everyone knows the tragic story of Sid and Nancy. Bob Dylan, and Madonna are also among those who lived there, though not at the same time, to be sure.

I've been having a problem with one of my mods. It won't always let me take to a vape, it won't come on. So I have to take out batteries or shake it a bit in-order for it to come on/light up.
I decided to check all the little screws and sure enough a few were loose. However, when I tried to tighten two of them on the battery case they would not tighten down, they are stripped. The weird thing is, I never once messed with them, never took them out nor tighten them down. Apparently, they came like this, I don't know what else or how else they got like this.
Well, I decided to take the screws out, but of course, as you know screws that are stripped sometimes most of the time they don't come out. I did get one out, but the other will not come out.
Now, the good thing is it's been firing up, YEY, without removing batteries or shaking it a bit.

Does anyone happen to know how I could go about to get the other one out? Plus, anywhere I could purchase some tiny screws?

Maybe a watch repair place, both to remove the stubborn screw and get replacement screws?

My theory is the screws that got stripped became so from being loose and moving too much within the housing.

But I know nothing. I hope your mod can be saved.

Maybe a hobby shop that sells remote cars and such and their parts and pieces would be able to help you get it out and or have the small screws to replace the stripped ones? Eye glass repair kit might work too some small screws and screwdrivers in that? There are videos on you tube on how to remove stripped screws ,might be one that can help?

No but once you get them out the threads in the mod will prolly be bad or very worn.... so..... You might try some fine steel wool. Just wrap a small bit around your screws and they might give you enough holding power.

I'm cooking extra, I'll send you some Saffron Cod and Baghali Polo through the internet, with a side salad. :giggle:

Mmm, I really enjoyed the polo and the salad. Thank you for sending it through the internet.

It got me started on my old preoccupation with the origin of the words for pilaf. The dish and the words are in so many languages, over most of the globe. I still can't track it to a point of origin:

pilaf
pilav
pilau
pilyav
piláfi
pulao
palāv
palaw
palov
plov
plovas
pelau
polu
polo (new one on me)
polow
paila

Then we get to western Europe, then Europe going back out to colonize:

paella - you used to read online that the name came from the dish it's cooked in, shortened from "patella" (knee cap). As usual to the Wiki I said "yall so stupid". The pan, "paellera", is named after the food, not the other way around.

paelya (Philippines)

Words, beautiful words.

I can't. Forum is ridiculously slow. "Like" votes take forever, and with one of my votes I got the response "Oops we ran into a problem". Gawd.

The owner of this forum needs to do something. I'm logging out for now. Will come back and check on it later.
Working great for me today as well- I probably jinxed it now, lol!
