Are you alone for Valentines Day?

Some years ago when Valentines Day followed close on a painful breakup I experienced, a friend pointed out to me that in Mexico on February 14 they celebrate Valentines Day, but they call it "El Día del Amor y la Amistad", "The Day of Love and Friendship". That friend said let's go out to dinner, have some wine, and celebrate the friendship that outlasts many a romantic entanglement.

I know some will be going out for a romantic dinner with wine, some dancing cheek to cheek, maybe a little kissy spanky in private quarters afterwards. If you have a special someone, and you have made those plans, I wish you a splendid time. Vive l'amour! For those who have not made plans or received invitations, stay right here and celebrate the enduring friendship we share. Enjoy a roaring fire, delicious snacks, and as always, the music we bring ourselves.

In memory of Max Yasgur (December 15, 1919 – February 9, 1973)
In 1969, he agreed to lease some of his land on his dairy farm to the Woodstock Festival organizers when all other options had failed.
On the stage at Woodstock he said "I'm a farmer. I don't know how to speak to 20 people at one time, let alone a crowd like this. But I think you people have proven something to the world — not only to the Town of Bethel, or Sullivan County, or New York State; you've proven something to the world. This is the largest group of people ever assembled in one place. We have had no idea that there would be this size group, and because of that you've had quite a few inconveniences as far as water, food, and so forth. Your producers have done a mammoth job to see that you're taken care of... they'd enjoy a vote of thanks. But above that, the important thing that you've proven to the world is that a half a million kids — and I call you kids because I have children that are older than you are — a half million young people can get together and have three days of fun and music and have nothing but fun and music, and I – God bless you for it ...
