Just to clarify something @Hey! it's just Ray... if the cable says that it is USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 it is a data cable. Power only cables do not meet any dataspecs and therefore cannot be rated at 2.0 or 3.0.
Can you actually post a picture of the connection you are trying to hookup and preferable the name and model of the mike.

You have a couple of statements in there that could mean different things depending on who reads them.
I have learned alot today here thanks. I will let you all know what I end up doing but pulling it all out and thinking about it or taking pictures while the wife is home now may not be in my best interest to keep peace here.

Likey that one!

I found out that the "Pets" setting on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH1 is great for her.
It turns off the IR sensor beams and such that she hates and makes her shut her eyes or look away. So, I can get shots like that. :)

Downside is, that camera has sucky white balance and low-light sensitivty compared to my old Canon. I can do the same on that camera, but it takes using it in manual mode. Kinda awkward around a fast-moving kitteh. ;)

Best digital camera I had, and still have, is the Nikon Coolpix 990.. Damn thing was nearly $1000 back in the day, and is very slow by todays standards, but damn does it take nice picture! Best color I have even seen this side of $2000 today..

I dropped my 'ol Canon A720is and busted the catch on the door awhile back.

Would've cost $25 just to get a parts camera to fix it, while the camera I'd bought for $40 used at a thrift store years ago. So, I improvised with $3 worth of velcro. :D

Gives a nice cushioned grip too. ;)

LOL it's BECAUSE you are from the south you even thought whatever you were thinking (I am just kidding I love a man with a southern accent)

I don't think I have that much of an accent but when I go up north, folks tell me otherwise. They should hear some of twang that's spoken around here though!
