You mean the c-clip that has been a industrial standard clip for 30 years or more? Yes they have a tool, or you could use a screw driver.
Don't you need something to grab each of the holes to open it, like maybe a pliers like thing that could grab each loop and then stretch it open a little?

Yes, there is a tool that you can use. Looks like an angles needle nose with machined tips. I have a pair in the toolbox. I will try to upload a pic later today.

They are called snap ring pliers. Screw driver works but be careful they have a tendency pop off and you could lose it.

Speaking of losing the c-clip...anyone know what size I'm looking for? =)

Ok, so I was able to confirm that these were made in the US, and not outsourced. Knowing that I have one of these devices that basically shut down the Manhattan, I may not sell it. I may just frame the damn thing.
Hi I know this post is old. But I have one of the Manhattan's that was done by the machinest. And I would like to get as much documentation as I can on my mod. I don't ever plan on selling it, but the proof is worth a lot to me.

Do you need like a specialized tool to dissasemble the switch? It just looks like that would be the case, based on that weird looking c clip like thing...
If it's one of two variations of a circlip I'm familiar with, the tool ain't tough to find...sears has'em, last time I was thru there, and most auto parts joints, as well.
