I just got an email from a friend of mine asking my opinion about this software package.

I HAVE NOT USED IT YET; but, was wondering if anyone has.

I was trying to update my rx200s firmware to the custom package that the other thread discussed and ended up with the Arctic fox version instead.

I have to say it is really cool. I do have to learn more about is as I have only scratched the surface. I've set the batteries for vtc4 and have been using the pct and boost curves for preheat. Anyone who knows more about the sine functions, if love to know your thoughts.

Slick, wasn't aware of it either. Will work for both my istick tc100w and my mom's presa tc75w. Not sure it would benefit her much though since she uses hers in power mode.

I haven't tried the Arctic Fox version yet, but I've been playing with the one (mentioned in the thread listed in post #5), and I really like it a LOT, especially the cool Clock function ... Cuz that's important ... LOL

Anyway, it does add a LOT of functionality, so you may want to give it a try too ... Here's the link: https://github.com/ClockSelect/myevic

I got my old EVic and Wismec mods out and used this firmware/software a while back.
While the chip is not up to Evolve accuracy, the software is amazing.
If it had been out when I got my DNAs, I may never have gotten one.
I like the Arctic Fox setup, look, and functionality the best of the two I've seen.

I might have to try the Arctic Fox version and see how it is. I really do like the Clock version though, since I don't wear a watch at work. :D

Hey @f1r3b1rd I guess you have to give up on those cutting edge mods and break out the old school eVic VTC Mini! That's what I did! ;)
Haha!!! I personally don't have any of those... But I may sneak off with one of my lady's and see if she notices.

I use the Arctic fox on my cuboid it's an amazing firmware. I am not using TC yet but the preheat in W mode is great I have it set to 50w 70w .5sec preheat and it makes it taste the same as if I vape on 70 but I can chain vape a lot longer without getting my tank to hot it a great software

Funny thing, I was just searching across the web looking for a Cuboid. Mine was stolen about 6 or 8 months ago, and it's always been one of my favorite mods. With this new firmware, I really want another one!

I did try to install this myself a while ago, unfortunately I couldn't though.

I am using a mac, so have to run Virtual box to use windows (I can't get bootcamp to work, my Superdrive has failed, so this is the only way I can use things like Escribe).

It does seem really good though from what I hear, and wish I could put it in all my Joyetech mods. I already like them a lot, and with the extras I think I would like them even more.

Hey @conanthewarrior you don't need to run the NEF or ArcticFox software. You can use the Joyetech/Wismec updater software to install the .bin file to your mods.

There are differences to the two versions of the software,

The "myevic" version has a different menu system to it, and allows you to adjust everything on the mod via sub-menus. The seem to be pretty logically laid out, and it is pretty easy to use and make adjustments on the fly.

The "arcticfox" version has roughly the same capabilities as the other, but I haven't found a way to make all the adjustments in the mod. It's more like a DNA in this regard, it needs to be programmed via the arcticfox toolbox ala escribe style. I'm not a huge fan of this, as I don't want to carry a laptop around with me to adjust my mod.

Either way, both are easy to use in their default modes, and both not only look good, they make the mod MUCH more adjustable. Give it a try, if you don't like it then just reload your original firmware.

One other option might be the linux installer, since MAC is a variant of linux (albeit heavily modified), it may work right out of the box. While I do have a MAC, I have NOT tried this yet, so I don't know if it is easy or not to get it working.

HTH!!

Wow, I've got dozens mods that can benefit from this, from Rx200, rx2/3, rx200s, cuboid, eleaf tc200, evic mini ... and especially the Vaporflask Thanks

What .bin file are you talking about. Would be nice to make all the changes on the mod instead of having to hook up to a laptop.

I've been meaning to try this out for a while now. I've started using my VTC mini a lot more lately so an upgrade would be nice.

Sure have and it's the best thing since sliced bread The best part is the preheat % option as you raise the watts the prewatts go up based on the % settings love that feature
