i dont get it either. they have until dec 31st to sell just the way they are except no new items, age restrictions, not building coils and setting up product for customers, and labeling requirements
which if you read the regs there are all kinds of provisions concerning when the labeling has to be done based upon when it was made etc
then by dec 31st if your a business you have to register with the fda which is free (something I didnt know until this article)
the main 2 types of retail businesses effecte dby the regs are
1. those who make their own juice
2. those who sell custom coils
the manufacturers like ijoy, aspire, kangertech etc are the ones who will have to spend the most money and effort to get their products approved for sale in the USA market
retailers who mix their own juice are the most effected imhoand need the most help
but a place like 101vape.com or code3vapor.com or many of the online retailers have little required of them by the new regs.
prices will probably be effected. brick and mortars will be heavily effected since I would guess that a majority of them mix their own juice and that constitutes a majority of their profit
But those stores have a new opportunity open to them if they are willing to grab it. I agree its 100% BS and according to some things may be simpler for them they they think
for example I have read somewhere that say I was selling one of my recipes we will go with something simple
4% Flavouart stark apple
3% flavourart fuji apple
1% The Flavor Apprentice Red Hot cinnimon
so lets say thats my recipe
and i use VT nic
and I use ED pg/vg
that my main thing is to submit my list of ingredients. its up to the manufacturers of teh individual ingredients to submit all teh testing data etc to get the individual ingredient approved
one the individual ingredient is approved its a matter of submitting the list of ingreints and labeling and approval should be given IF all your ingredients have all ready been approved
and If any of thos eingredients were available pre 2007 they should be grandfathered in and not need individual approval
now I have also read that what I just explaine dis entirely false
and each e juice maker will have to test each rewcipe and pg/vg variation and nicotine variation THEMSELVES to get it approved
I would love someone like Greg Conley who is active in understanding and fighting the regs to write a similar artice to explain what the regs as a whole require juice makers and custom coil makers to do. maybe I shall attempt writing him an email or something.
The B&M closed down there and moved due to "inventory shrinkage" or simply they were getting their wares ripped off if they left them out on the counter or in an open display case. Even with cameras the assholes still boosted any thing they could get, if they could get away with it. There's a HUD housing complex a block away.
