Other than the paint chipping on this box and tank, I love it. I'm not a subohmer, though, so I don't use the 0.5 coils.

The paint is chipping on ya?
That sucks.
Which part?
Box or tank?
Ive had mine for well over a month now and its holding up great.
Are you hard on it at all?
(Im not poking at you or anything, just curious)

Both box and tank are chipping. I'm a little bit clumsy.

The battery cap on my Black KBox is almost silver, their paint jobs suck. But the white Subox is holding up nicely so far. :)

Early production run teething pains maybe? Mine has a couple of tiny nicks in the paint on the top edge of the subtank but the mod is spotless. I don't use any kind of case either.

BTW, anybody noticing significantly shorter battery life with the 0.5 ohm coil vs the 1.5 ohm coil? How do they compare in terms of batt life?

I have been only using mine with a 1.2 ohm micro coil in the Subtank Mini RBA since I got it.

I dont really notice the battery life when Im vaping, as each and every hit is different, so there will never be X amount of hits per battery. I think you have more vapor production with the .5 ohm coil and therefore should see shorter battery life on this coil, but you will have a better vapor production and you wont be needing to take as big of a hit.

Got bored and did little a 'switch up' on the kits...

NICE!

The Black looks great like that.
How'd you get the buttons out?

I did a Black-Out with one of my new Subtanks, but am using it on my Invader.

Had all of them sitting on my stand over the weekend switching back and forth between flavors, then got to looking at them.
Is it just me or do they give off an odd Star Wars Vibe?
Even though I really enjoyed those shows as a kid, I swear I didnt buy these for that purpose.
Just kinda worked out that way I guess...

Nice job.
Now if Kanger would just sell colored replacement buttons to go with their colored o-rings.
It'll never happen because of the warranty though.

Inside the battery compartment are 2 screws, one is beneath a sticker. After removing them the internals slide right out and it's easy to switch the switch button covers. Mind the negative terminal spring insulator which is the only loose part. Reassembly is easy.

Removing the sticker probably voids the warranty. I did this a couple of times because I pushed the non adjustable positive pin down by accident when using a Freakshow mini dripper.

Hello, newbie here! I've been on my vape pen for a little under a year. I've got the upgrade bug and was dead set on getting a subox kit but as others have mentioned, the non adjustable pin is a bit of a downer if I ever want to try an RDA (not even sure if 50W would cut it for an RDA).

Given the rate at which Kanger has been releasing/updating their products, how much of a wait would it be until a revised Subox 2.0 comes out (with a revised connector)?

Youll be just fine wi the subox configuration. Do you even have anything that wont fit on it now. I think your inventing a problem that doesnt really exist for ya.

The latest thing Kanger is working on is the Kebox - an integrated mod/tank that uses their proprietary Subtank heads and is supposed to do 60 watts and temp-limiting. I've got a couple on pre-order, but they're no good for RBA use unless you want to use their RBA head to fill their tank. A 10 ml capacity and a coil that spits decent (if not impressive) vapor could be nice for an all-day-at-work mod for me, which is why I'm buying in. For flexibility and ease of use I'd say the Subox isn't a bad bet, though prices may drop once the Kebox is a reality.

As far as an RDA at 50 watts or less it's totally achievable, though I'm more in the 60-70 range these days...

Just bought the Subox kit. After buying the kit, I ran up my stairs all exited like a little boy eager to play with a toy he just got for Christmas! Assembled and primed the 1.5 ohm coil and tried my honey/fruit flavor eJuice. I was instantly impressed however the flavor is quite different than with my vape pen. I would say the sweetness and fruityness is slightly less pronounced than with my pen. I've been vaping on the most restricted airflow setting (I'm a mouth to lung guy) at around 20W.

I transferred the rest of the tank to my pen and filled her up with some Montecristo I bought at Vape Royale and was blown away with the flavour! I didn't bother cleaning the tank and I would say it took about 6-7 drags for the flavour to completely transfer from sweet honey fruit to Montecristo cigar. The Montecristo juice is 30/70 pg/vg and the flavour seems more "accurate" than with my 50/50 honey eJuice. My first impression is that perhaps higher VG juices are better suited for the subtank but that's just a first impression. Maybe it's just that I like a higher VG juice.

The tank is a bit large for my liking but perhaps I will consume my juice more rapidly so I'll have to see. I'm glad that changing flavors is not that big a deal. Although the screen is less beautiful than eVic mini, the overall mod and tank feel top notch and for now, I don't regret getting a mod with less options. Eventually I will upgrade to a better mod but I'm glad I have a good quality tank. Thanks for suggesting this product, I'm very happy with it. Now if I can just find a suitable carrying case...

Glad you're enjoying your Subox. It is a really good and reliable 50w mod, and an excellent tank. I like mine a lot too. Kanger does need to change the pin on this mod though to spring-loaded so that people have fewer issues using the mod with other tanks, as that pin becomes depressed and then won't make contact with this or that tank. I've had to pry up the pin on mine a few times using a mini standard screwdriver.
Nice little rig, Kanger, but a springloaded pin would have been just perfect.

This is a KWTony mod, one of many that im working on right now. :)

I hit it with 400, then 800 then some random boat polish I had laying around. I freaking LOVE it...sitting on my old school V2 subtank because both ebony and ivory have died :(

I also have this kit. I suggest you buy a Joytech Cubis tank or another tank that does not have the vent holes on the bottom. The Kanger tanks will leak.

Removable battery, apparently, and at least 50 watts. Haven't seen any official specs or anything else, just a couple comments and pics on the interwebs.

I have heard that the new Kanger Subtank Mini will now utilize the dual airflow ring like the Subtank Plus. I would love to get it in black as pictured looks pretty sweet. Looks like there's a gap on the mod hopefully it use's a floating 510.

Kanger Sub Box Mini with rubber skin (because I'm clumsy) and Joytech Cubis tank (because I was sick of the Kanger tanks leaking).
