Capella's Vanilla Custard V1 vs V2?

I'm no stranger to V1 of Vanilla Custard (CA). For me it needs a few weeks to smooth and blend or about 4 hours in my UC plus a day or two to settle. Matter of fact, I just used it (V1) in White Coconut Cake by Jason...thank you and divine :) mix.

So I have a new bottle of Version 2 to use. Is it stronger or weaker than V1? Will recipes using V1 translate without tweaks to V2? Same time line for steeping? Is the "flavor" in a mix the same as V1? Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance
:)

I use it exactly the same as V1. some people report needing more , some less. I think they did a good job of matching the flavor as close as it can be without the custard notes. that being said Im pretty sure its got some custard notes in it no matter what he says.

Looking for a good custard to use to make custardy bases myself (just getting back into DiY here...) I have the v2 (and prolly the V1 from before.. any others folks can recommend? My recent ADV has been Moon Mountain's Cosmos Custard (the seasonal version, max VG)

Any help here would be amazing, thanks. Also, 'sup 'manda?

Hey there - you found us! :)

I only use the FA custard and the caps. They're completely different, and the caps is the one in all the juice I used to buy!

yeah, been kinda AWOL from the forum scene for a bit now, RL has been super busy with work, buying a house and all that.

I love the MMV Cosmos Custard, mostly cause I can get it in a super thick VG version. For some reason, even though I loved NT's CLS, it started getting "peppery" to me, must have been the higher PG? I dunno. I'll give the Caps a try at 5% and see how it goes.

I think you'll need it much higher than 5% to compare to CLS - but starting low and working up makes sense (always remembering the caps needs steep time).

See? I saved you a step! I tried it earlier, not bad... might need to redo my coils to really get the flavor I'm looking for, but came out pretty good after just a short bath in the crockpot/ shake

I've left mine overnight in the crockpot - it does well!
