Hey there Ive found a good coil building kit on amazon for only 35 dollars and thought I might share this with everyone. It has every tool you need and also cotton and wire included.
Pretty nice as its not as expensive as the other kits which are like 50 bucks.

The brand is by mwevan heres the link:
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...eld-keywords=mwevan+kit&rh=i:aps,k:mwevan+kit

I am pretty new to this so this was exactly what I needed, everything in one place.
You're welcome

It's a good starter kit for those first starting to get into coil building. Double check the ohm meter though for I bought one of these kits as a gift and the ohm meter was way off. So double check with your regulated mod to insure it's accurate, I'm sure the one I got was a fluke but double check anyways.

Bottom line though it's a good starter kit and as time goes by you can graduate if you choose to higher quality tools as your experience grows, I did.

Cheers

Ok cool. What "higher quality tools'' do you use now?

Here's just a few of my upgrades

this damn forum software, let me try to get those other three links

Also a couple of USA Ohm Meter Firemeters and Ohm meters which they no longer make, shame cause they are the most accurate Ohm Meter made. Not trying to pimp one out but when I found out they stopped making Oh meters I bought a batch of them. So if you ever decide you want one or two PM me. But honestly the one in the kit should be good for you for now but let me know if you do choose to.

I jumped in pretty deep so you by no means need to jump in this deep. My recommendation though is to get a decent starter kit then as you gain experience you can really get a good base on the tools you need to upgrade.

Best investment though that I highly recommend is not to skimp on quality wire, quality wire isn't that much more than the cheap Chinese shit wire. Figure you'll use around 6" for a pair of coils that will last a few months, do the math.

My recommended wire is to get real Sandvick wire, here are some brands that use Sandvick
  • Kidney Puncher
  • Atomizer Wick
  • Temco
Temco IMO is a bit springier but still excellent quality wire, I myself prefer Kidney Puncher and Atomizer Wick.

You'll have to manually copy and paste those links, some reason this forum software fucks with Amazon product links

So theyre just the same tools just better quality
Yep, hell a lot of people just use finger nail clippers, drill bits or screw drivers (for jigs), regular tweezers (or pliers) and an ohm meter. Starter Tool kits like this though are cheap enough though which is why I recommend them.

Shit I've bought though like the Tronex cut wire like butter, last longer. I'm on the hobby side so I do just make coils for fun and give to friends and family, so I do actually use them a lot. It's my Hobby ;)

But again as I recommended start out with the kit and it all depends on how far you wanna go and what your needs are before you shell out funds for higher end tools.

Oh on a note though I do highly recommend getting quality Hex drivers like the Wiha that I listed. People complain that Hex grub screws strip, that's because they're using the garbage allen key included in the atty kit.

The tool kit doesn't look too bad actually. Some require being wary when they include funky coil jigs and things. I've seen folks get some where the different spindle rods for coil wrapping fit loose and wobble around, crap like that. When I started doing basic single wire coils I used nails. 16d standard box nails are just over 4mm in diameter, around 4.2mm I believe. I used a smaller nail for other coils. Some of the stuff I already had, drill, various pliers, wire cutters. Just made do with what I had.

So far the only things I've added, a coil jig similar to the one in the kit, the coilmaster v4. Also a pair of cheapo flush cut nippers. I agree, the included 3 way allen tools that come with atomizers for the post screws suck but then so do many of the screws. The allen/hex head design is fine but even with quality stuff the smaller sizes have a weak design flaw where they can be prone to stripping or rounding out the head of the screw. Torx are a much better nonslip design imo, hex as small as most of these screws are offer little better than phillips head screws for rounding. Even square drive would be an improvement.
