One Summer in VA at my Pap's we stood out in the yard watching a mama and her three kits climb up to the two lowest branches on a tree. The kits were a little curious about us and wiggled, fidgeted a bit. Mama was plum wore out. This during daylight hours.
They had come from off a hill up back of Pap's and were heading down to the Shenandoah river down across the main road. Pap said to let them be. He knew exactly why they had come in during the day.
Grandma come out and was "awe Pap-ing", wanted go see to catching them to raise em up. Pap told her she could stay still. "But, but, Pap!" Shortly after that, maybe a half hour they packed their troupe up and went on down the road toward the river.
Moved to WV and met wife's granddad. He told me to watch out for smart opossums. Said they would dance right by you after they cleaned out a bird feeder or bowl of cat food. I laughed and dismissed him as spouting old codger to me.
Roughly three days later I happened to need to go out that night. Here stood big ol' possum with two front paws full of cat feed, dancing can can style right across in front of me. Swear he even grinned and winked. Did not doubt her granddad after that.

I love all wildlife and will feed any critter that crosses my path. I have a unique passion for raccoons. Even have a figurine collection of over 100 pieces.Way too much cuteness.

Would say I'd not believe that. Have learned better though. My wife has this odd fascination with tea kettles. She's not quite gotten 100 yet. I'm waiting until she realizes her tea kettles take space away from her yarn. I've already compromised for when we get our homestead.
Told her the house can be her yarn barn. I get the farm barn and any outbuildings, though I might let her have one outbuilding. She swears she'll take over the farm barn too. I chuckle at her and ask, "when did the burning times stop, again?" To which I am chided with "I'm not a witch, I'm your wife."
Still considering divorcing her for not liking the Doors. Hm, 15 years since then, see how quickly I'm aiming to leave her, eh? Oddly, not listened to the Doors since then either. Damn it, I'm Pap all over again.
Morning everyone ! Another nice day out. To bad all day yesterday I was installing a new floor in the upstairs bedroom lol. Will be doing it today also. Went with interlocking vinyl planking. Goes down like a wood laminate floor but it’s waterproof and incredibly durable. It’s amazing stuff. I can’t stop looking at it lol. Have a good one and see ya later. Oh yeah I’m hurting bad lol. Moving furniture by myself and the amoir fell on me. Bruised up pretty good. I’m going to try to get some help today to move it to the other side to finish.

Good grief dude! You won't be able to enjoy it if you smash yourself with the furniture! Hope you didn't do any permanent damage. I've looked at the flooring too as a replacement for our living carpet... I HATE carpet, especially with 4 cats.
Finished the floor. I love it ! Living room and hallway will get done with the same stuff. But that’s after I paint upstairs but even that’s after I take a break lmao. Have a good night and see ya in the am.
