@~Don~ glad the ear isn't as painful, earwax clogs suck.
@Rhianne all our mods are top notch, but yeah Huck is special. She's my sister from another mom and dad... :D

Mid 90s today, pushing 100 tomorrow here in the Central Valley. Allegedly back down to the mid 80s Sunday according to the weather guessers.

Me, my wife, and the critters are all fine.

I'll take our weather over yours, thank you very much. :)

Checking in - all's well here and with my loved ones across the world thank good

Best wishes to those fighting the epidemic, whether its the disease itself or its fall out, or other terrible problems

Looks to be a nice day again today, hit 80 yesterday, about as hot as I can take it

Had a chicken escape today, so had a good run about the property for about 10 minutes, lol

I’ve been hearing honking and yelling for weeks now outside, and wondered what it was. So, now I’ve heard that there are rent protests going on all over.

I get it, since rents in my neighborhood are really high. Like $3;000 high at least. Really bad situation for everyone here.

Anyway, doing pretty good. Days are all the same, but I’m used to it, I guess.

Stay safe and healthy, VU people. <3

Jeepers, that's some high rent.
That's almost double what my mortgage is. Glad to hear you're doing well. Stay safe over there.

All is well here. Wife, dogs and myself are healthy.
My employee started back to work with me today. Nice to not be working alone on such a large project.
Knee is doing quite well. Finished my kitchen cabinets finally! I'll have pictures of that before and after to share by Saturday. Got some cleaning and organizing to do first. Dam a lot of work went into giving my kitchen a facelift. The wife loves it, and it finally ends the 2 years I've been listening to her "hint" about how it all needed done.

Strange times these are. Stay safe everyone!

Good morning VU!

Ear is still all goobered... no fever or out of the ordinary pain today or draining puss... so I am going to believe the Doc and her online assessment that its wax lol... Wife brought home an ear cleaning solution goobledygook thing from the Hospital...which did not at all feel good, but I was able to sleep soundly once the pressure subsided...

The stuff I guess loosens the gunk then bonds to the gunk then you warm water rinse it out... lemme tell you, I'd rather of been nut punched... Emailed my doc to set an ENT appointment... I'll let them do a thorough cleaning like you see on youtube where they pull out gunk for days... I mean near 47 years of ear gunk... I am sure there is a ton in there LOL... !

Thursday, I think, check in. Went to finish getting supplies today and everyone was wearing a mask (different town) which was good to see. Still about 2000 new cases and 153 dead today:eek: and we have moved into phase two of reopening:facepalm:. I don't know but it just don't think it's right at all to value money (the economy) more than human life:gaah: WTF. If this is what humanity has come to I am damn glad I am this old:rolleyes:. Please stay safe and healthy.

Hi. Wow, 153 in one day and re opening. That's gonna be a death sentence to so many that could be avoided. Sorry to hear that, that's crazy.

Getting colder here now but all still the same otherwise. So personally can't complain.
My alarm clock was on time again this morning, would prefer if it was a nice bird call outside my window, but hey, at least its punctual! :giggle:
Hope you all doing ok and stay that way.

Yes it is a death sentence, I'm staying in or at least in my yard for the next month to see what happens, I just can't believe they are putting money ahead of human life:facepalm:.

We ended up getting sent home early, tonight. And last night. An hour or so is one thing, but we totaled about 6 hours shy. I was pretty irritated because I had plenty to do to get to 40 and I want my money. Boss lady got pissed off at one, so got bitchy with everyone. As much as I do like her, it ain't right, so I'm glad to be away from her, but I still could've done that at work.

It's cool, we've been super slammed lately, so I'll sit here in my comfy clothes. And really, I ain't got it bad. People out there hurting plenty, I need to shut up and be very grateful.

Not a fan of those who treat everyone like rubbish because of the actions of just one myself. That bugs me too.

Human life always has had a price assigned to in our societies and always will. If it costs too much for you to live then you die.

My son and I just had mac and cheese with cut up pieces of breakfast sausage, and some seriously sharp cheddar cheese in it for lunch. Yummy!

That sounds really good. I’ll be getting some sharp cheddar this week, too. I got set up with a few farm delivery places near me through the Westin Price Foundation and Community Supported Agriculture programs.

I’ve been buying from them for more than a year now, but it’s been really useful now. And they bring it to my door, which is great too. Although for a year they were delivering between 2-6AM.

It’s crazy high! And now so many people are out of work and can’t afford to pay the rent and could be evicted. Cuomo won’t do anything, which is par for the course.

But he had time to push through a flavor ban for 5/18, and possible eliquid ban in July. Nice to know his priorities are straight!

My county has 1/4 of the cases/deaths in NYC and they’re prolly going to do a “limited” reopening soon. I understand that the they don’t want the economy to fail, but there’ll be a lot more new cases this summer, I’m sure.

Glad you and the missus are doing well.

Hi. I have seen on our news the horrible high number in NY and other places. It must be a scary feeling seeing the protesters and others ignoring the lockdown and now hearing of easing of restrictions whilst each day the death toll is taking the equivalent of small towns entire populations.
Thanks, yes we are ok no worries. You and everyone else stay safe.

I cannot fathom paying that kind of rent. You all must make an absolute fortune at whatever you do, because $3k in rent would leave me destitute after paying a few utilities, never mind a car payment and insurance and groceries and all the other stuff.

The one time I went to New York City, honking and yelling were pervasive. I'd be a nervous wreck. You'd probably go crazy in the quiet we have around here.

Holy shit! We have an almost 5,000 square foot home in an affluent neighborhood in West Cary, NC, and our mortgage is only $2,400 a month.

I adore those porches, Rob, but I hope to goodness you never have to get up on that roof for any reason whatsoever.

Cary is in a different universe now from when we lived there back in the 60s. I started seventh grade in Cary and then when my folks bought a house we moved to the Five Points area of Raleigh.

Cary used to be a little town with a barbecue restaurant, a Dairy Queen, a service station, and a drugstore on the main drag. Seems like there was an A&P grocery store, too.

ETA: Looking at Google Maps, it appears that Ashworth Drugs still exists in Cary, and the school that used to be Cary Elementary is now the Cary Arts Center, at the end of Academy St.

Yep, it sure is. We moved here in 2000, and Hwy 55 was just a 2 lane road. High House and Carpenter Fire Station Rd's were still both country farm area. Now, no country farm areas, and 55 is a 4 lane highway. Being retired from the Navy, I've seen the world, and a lot of the US, but this is still the best place I've ever lived. I am a Realtor now, and this is one of the best markets in the country.

I had chickens for about 5 years

Was very careful not to let them out. I figured that if they ever crossed the road, they'd never live it down. Like that other one

:giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle: Good one there, DM. :)

We had chickens for a short time after we first got married. Final straw for me came when they cornered and traumatized my cat. You've never heard such clucking and yowling in your life!

Did you train your chickens to do that, DM? Cause they will sure gang up on a cat, given half a chance!

Thankfully my area is pretty secluded and quiet. I avoid Manhattan since it’s just nasty anymore. The last time I went there in November, it was so crowded and dirty. I got really sick, but I took the subway and ate out there.

I’d love to live where you are. You’re so lucky!!

Why do they want to cross the road, though? :teehee:

You ever watch cows? One cow will have a bright idea that "over there" is more special than "over here."

Said cow will lumber off, away from the herd, and stand "over there."

Other cows will slowly realize, hey, she's "over there."

20 minutes later, the whole herd is "over there."

Same thing with chickens. They wanna go "over there." Am I a chicken? Do I know why? No.

Zen out, ladybug. It's just what is.

I’m ready to shop for houses in NC! My rent is almost $3000 and we have a one BR. My hubs was afraid to get a mortgage since houses here were so expensive, but we should prolly look outside NY. I don’t like it here anymore, anyway.

Really pretty house, Rob. You’re lucky!

Friday check in. Been a beautiful day here because I am staying here, ain't leaving till I just have to. heading out to spend some time in the garden, maybe I coax everything to grow faster.
Talked to my sister this morning, she lives a ways from here, and she said the shelves in all four stores in her town were almost bare.

Are you under threat from the "polar vortex" thing coming this weekend?
Sounds like a potential garden season killer if it's coming your way sadly

Our check in, we are fine - a beautiful day here

Yeah. Lucky with a lot of hard work. If you decide to come down this way, you won't miss NYC. We got it all here, except for the huge metropolitan area that goes on for as far as the eye can see. We got coast, we got mountains, we got 3 major universities. We got a job market, and housing market that's hard to beat...anywhere in the US. And, we got the weather. Come on down, and I'll be glad to help you find your perfect home. ;)
