Turns out I also have an ear infection, plus I have shingles.

*blows smoke toward ears, passes gabapentin he has stashed*

Spreek je which, I am now going to let meself get silly and have one of those lovely anti-pain pills. A swig of rum might help ... hm, maybe I'll not use the medicine.

We don't need to get all agoraphobic because of COVID-19.

Pfft, being anti-social anyway beat Covid-19 to the agoraphobia. :)

I actually meant to ask the doc for gabapentin and forgot. I took it for years for nerve pain. Might call them tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder.

Yep. S'why I got it on an as needed basis. Up to three per day. Golly gee, me taking another pill? Hm ...

I think tonight a swig of rum will win out. It wasn't too warm out today, around 52 or so. Kind of expected the torquing. Not so bad but the muscles need tricked to relax. Reckon i need flexiril again but again, another pill ...

Check in here. Got outside after about two weeks of rain. Got a fair start on some mowing with the weed-eater. Weather fares well to-marry, be out again finishing some more up. Had to laugh at myself, whilst atop a hill, the lower back decided to torque and spasm as I was mowing. Felt the nerve bundle yank on me and felt like I was a cuckoo-clock being pulled. Both arms swung out, letting go of the weed-eater, fortunate it was slung in the shoulder strap. Then, I recomposed and told my back to fuck itself a bit. Pulled through what I needed there, took a sit and stretch break, finished off the rest of the start I had to do. Yep, I said "go fuck yourself pain!" "how's that work out for ya?" "Still hurts like a bitch, but I keep moving until I don't."

Wife's loving her temp job for the state via the temp service. She seems to think there's reasonable a shot at it getting her in full time. They had an issue at the goodwill. They were trying to start re-open. Wife had told them her new schedule. The manager at her store got pissy, wife wrote a resignation letter that night. There's a few at her store working two or three jobs, and the store accommodates their schedules fine. Why is she any different? Point of fact, she's not and so she quit because it was clear the manager was going to be that way. Her temp job is paying more anyway and if it goes full time, it'll be all that much and more.

I had a job with the State of North Carolina when I was 18 years old. Could have been retired and ready to have a second career at 48, but NOOOOO!!!! I had to get all rebellious and ambitious and shit, and go running off to different states and living at the beach and having a big time, and end up now I'll probably have to work till I fall over dead.

Tell yer wife, if she gets a permanent State gig, she needs to HANG ON and stay with it. There will be frustration, and probably some grinding boredom, but then, one day, freedom!

Working. Staying busy. But sleeping like shit. Stress. All the backlogged work lined up. It's a blessing to have work lined up, but it's stressful trying to keep things on schedule.

Father in law rolled his tractor trailer today. Drives a tandem trailer gravel train. One of the trailers decided it didn't want to turn with the truck and took him for a ride. They had to cut him out of the truck. He walked away with minor cuts and several gnarly bruises. Very lucky.

So our restrictions have eased and my plans for the day are dashed as it poured rain all night. Ah well, tomorrow perhaps. Maybe a fish this afternoon instead.
Its a worry the easing as I hear of other places around the globe that have done it and its bounced back at them. We are still going to stay away from people as much as we can. Our real estate agent rang just before and asked why I refused entry to the smoke alarm inspection guy four weeks ago. Hmmm, let a stranger in my home thats been to dozens of others in the same day during covid19 pandemic!? Pretty self explanatory I thought. After I explained why, the real estate comes back with "well I doubt he'd have come if he was sick". Hmmm, people can be highly contagious before they have symptoms, pretty common knowledge that and why we are in "lockdown". Sometimes I feel im dealing with endless dumb!
I'll admit I can be a bit dumb myself at times, ok a lot of times, but really, these days im often left speechless.
Hope everyone is ok today and stays well. Still hearing horrific stories of whats going on around the globe. I know a lot of you here are doing it really tough and I hope you all come through this ok.

I had to venture out into the world yesterday because I am sick. Turns out I also have an ear infection, plus I have shingles. I have been pretty miserable for the last couple of weeks, and when I talked to my daughter about it, she hit the nail on the head and told me right away I had shingles. She just had them herself last year (and she's only 35, go figure). I am having pain from the shingles plus terrible ringing in my ears, dimished hearing, headache, and just a general all-over sick feeling that has been no damn fun.

So I went to see the doctor yesterday afternoon and then sat in the pharmacy parking lot for a half hour while my prescriptions were being filled. Got home and after all that, was missing the anti-viral that the doc prescribed. Called the store and discovered that their system had kicked the transaction out as having been filled at another pharmacy (what?) so they didn't fill it, and didn't mention it either. One of these days I'll learn to check. Anyway, didn't get my anti-viral until about 2 pm today.

I have to tell y'all that I had to have a stern talk with myself yesterday as I was getting ready to go out. It would have been so easy for me to have just gone to bed and skipped that whole adventure. I REALLY did not want to go out, was fretting and worrying and rolling it around in my head.

Don't let yourself get like this. We don't need to get all agoraphobic because of COVID-19.

@~Don~ I'm glad to hear that your ear is doing better. It's good that you kept going until you had a decent answer from someone. I have zithromax and some drops for mine, so maybe in three or four days it will be better.

Feel better soon, Nadalama. <3<3

Mowed and weed eat for 7 hours, then stopped and shopped at Krogers. They had plenty of meats. The little factory packages of sliced sandwitch meat was a bit scarce but otherwise full meat stock. Canned beans was also still scarce. Hillbillies and their beans ;)

Doing good, thankfully. Same old stuff, except with a flavor ban thrown in for good measure.

I think re-openings are supposed to happen in NY, but I’m not really thrilled to be getting out and about yet. I’m still a bit meh about everything lately.

Stay safe and well,everyone. <3<3

Morning!

Beautiful morning here, going to be low 90's today. Hubby loves it and I stay inside when it gets up there. Jessie is in the window watching birds, I love that sound cats make when they see one.

I need to mix today, getting low on my favorites again. Might try a few more new recipes.

Stay safe and healthy

I hear the first part about working. Used to know an older guy in VA. Everybody called him Pops. Well Pops took 10% from you each week. But each week you told Pops the hours you wanted, each week you got your hours weather it be six different things you did or just one.

You would get hired out daily to "bosses" who slid pay in cash under the table. Pops got your "envelope" first, give you the 90% you earned. When someone got "down" Pops made sure their family had, that was the 10% "Kitty's" purpose. Pops looked out for a slew of us doing "contract" work, we in effect were acting as the Mexican quadrilos (sp?).

I did this sometimes while holding a "regular" job, sometimes this alone. At one time i figure i was pulling at least two, maybe three thousand dollar weeks. Shame it all got lost along the way. Fuck being ambitious like that. You know for sure the "young bucks" would saddle the load for the old guys. You also likely know we did shit work, didn't matter none to us, was work needing doing, we did, we got paid.

Also hear you and have beaten you to it in letting wife know to not let go of a govmint job. I'd love to get in at a local post office to sort mail. Yeah, that's all sewn up. Not able to find any "print" shops around here that handle mass mail orders. I could handle doing that kind of stuff. Yep, lob 70lbs mail gunny sacks around just for giggles. :) Tell any supervisor that asks "you sorted that alphabetically," "nope just looked at the pictures I don't read, not paid enough." Of course 98% or better of anything I did would be correct. Got a knack to correlate. :)

It's looking like FedEx Ground has been taking lessons from USPS. I had sent my laptop in for repair the end of April and it got to the repair center in Houston quickly. The computer got repaired last week and was shipped back to me on Friday. It made it to SoCal Sunday where it had moved maybe 50 miles in two days. It finally made it to a FedEx center about 60 miles north of me last night. It left said center at 12:11AM this morning and that is the last tracking. No arrived at local facility, no out for delivery. WTF over! Originally the tracking said I should have received it yesterday, now showing as arriving today and that is starting to look iffy...:cuss2::gaah:

Other than that SSDD...

Your cat must do that little "chattering" sound. I've not had a cat that did that, but I've seen them many times on YouTube videos. It's nice to watch cats just BE. They are so completely CAT. :)

Have a lovely day, @misswish!

Not yet, the chicks are still way too young; the new one will probably be another 2 months or so, she just got her adult plumage and is still actually very small

My wife wants chickens so bad. But, we live in a sub division that frowns on chicken coops and, you know.....Chickens.:(

We are lucky that they let us have a nice garden.

It was bit after 3 AM before I racked out. Then, I had passed out a few hours at a time a couple times yesterday afternoon. Was mowing some more a few hours yesterday. Spoke to FIL. He is finally getting around to realizing he's feeling bad the way he did before getting stents. So he called for an appointment with the cardio doctor.

He's (FIL) been having an issue of spitting up food too. I'm thinking it's a possibility that's part of his heart issue/s, his body's way of saying "hey dumb ass, check shit out". Though, I couldn't have said it was his heart again. His cardio expressed a bit of concern yet kept the conversation aloof, which is to say the doctor in this case seems to be rather good. Hoping they can get him back up to steam.

He was upset yesterday he could not get out and "do" with me. To which I told him to get his ass in the house, be sure I had a good supper, an RC & Moon Pie. He drinks Diet Dr. Pepper but he and I agree it tastes like RC. We had good sized hamburgers, half pounders. I fussed at my MIL a bit, she was all excited to show me the President's letter. *chuckles* My youngest nephew swears he can forge the signature.

Back up now about 8 AM. Slept a bit fitfully with the Cpap. Got a place in my leg flaring up. I had unceremoniously put a log tie hook into a shin for whatever reason. Truth is a missed a rolling log and the hook glinted off it, bounced right into the leg. Yep, it taught me. I slowed down after that. Her Pawpaw fussed a blue streak, not so much as I'd been so all fired rearing to get done as he didn't want me hurt. Think me and him took turns looking out like that for one another. And both of equally as stubborn to keep working, keep getting it done.

No, I don't miss the intolerable old cuss, not at all. Only every day. So checking in wise, reckon we're still fair to middlin' 'ere. A happy turn last week, our local Chinese place opened back up for at least carry out pickup. We'd all been hankering Chinese for a good month or so now. And yeah we might to fix some store bought but it wasn't the same.
