So anyone else have a SO who has suddenly become the Ultimate Authority on all things vaping? I quit smoking 6 months ago and became an avid vaper, gradually acquiring bigger and better mod set-ups as I learned the ropes and figured out what I liked and what I didn’t. My hubby started vaping around the same time I did, simply because he was fascinated by the technology and culture associated with it. At first I was thrilled that we had a new hobby to explore together, but now he has become Vapenstein, Vape-pedia, and a self-proclaimed Vapologist all rolled into one. While I admire his enthusiasm and generally respect his opinions, it hasn’t dawned on him that vaping can be a very personal and subjective experience. He believes I am stuck in a “beginners’ rut” because I prefer sub-ohm tanks and pre-made stock coils over RTAs/RDAs and building my own coils. I acquired and tried the OBS Nano RTA numerous times with numerous builds, and taken many hits from his assorted RTA/RDAs with different coils on different mods, and frankly I just don’t get the same experience that he seems to. I like a nice flavorful, concentrated, “juicy” vape hit and just haven’t gotten that from any RTA/RDA like I do from my sub-ohms. We have argued endlessly about the cost factor of stock coils vs. home-builds. My opinion is, if I’m going to stay off cigarettes and stick to vaping, it should enjoyable to ME. His opinion is, building your own coils is way cheaper, more versatile, and is the mark of a true, educated vaper. Whatever!!!!! This really is a stupid and petty issue in the grand scheme of things, and there really is no easy solution, but it’s driving me crazy and I just needed to vent. Thanks for reading this.
