Kidding. I barely mix 60mls before I'm bored and put it all away

Hai Bored, nice to meet ya! I'm lazy, I mix about 600, and put it away LONG time..
Oooh, fun mixing tip. Ya know those lil 187ml Champagne splits? The ones you put a fat straw in and carry around? They make FABULOUS mix bottles. WOOT! Dual purpose!

Oh, I need that! My triple beam from the years of my mis-spent youth has gone missing after the soot disaster we had a few years ago. Could still be in a box, but I miss it for postage and such. I kind of enjoy mixing with beakers and graduated cylinders and things, feels sciency. Is mixing by weight really much easier?
i still tend to mix by volume and generally have pretty good results - i think some of it comes down to preference... my wife is a labtech for bayer in one of their QA labs and has not smacked me down on protocol yet, so...

I don't have either mod.

You know I'm joshing about the kayfuns I hope :) I have several older RTAs in use.

Glad you said that, I was wondering if you'd gone over to the dark side of bashing tootle puffers. :D

But just a minute ago, I happened to recall seeing a post from you, somewhere, that said the Boreas really isn't a tootle-puff device. Or maybe it was by someone else, who, not being a designer of it, doesn't know it as well as you. I dunno, can't recall where I saw that.

One other thing concerns me -- that tank part is glass, right? It might be a lot heavier than I'm used to -- remember I've been using these light-as-a feather titanium Achilles for about a year a now; even kayfuns with plastic tanks feel heavy to me.

Actually, my next RTA coming out, which is Merlin, would suit you more :) But, Boreas is pretty versatile as well. Rolf vapes his at 14W. Raymo vapes his at 240W :D I don't think too many tanks can cover a spread like that!

Can you mention the specs on the upcoming Merlin, or is it still a design secret? ;)

Well, that settles it for me, then! But I still have to measure that darn postage..

So, if you're mixing a 50ml bottle and you're off by .01g or .01ml of a flavoring, will you know the difference in taste? Call me "old school" (or just "old" in Bird's case 'cause I know he will) but, I use syringes graduated to .01ml. Just my 2¢
really going to depend on the flavoring concentration... FA? maybe (though not likely - in a 50ml batch, .01 ml represents .02%)... with FW, TFA, CAP I would say almost certainly not... i tend to mix all of my testers in 30ml batches (as i often send some to friends for feedback) for that reason - bit more 'buffer' on the margin of error... and when mixing a 480ml batch? I tend to mix those flavors in a 100ml graduated mixing cylinder, again results thus far have been entirely satisfactory

Before the Kayfuns, I was a 510 atty drippin fool. It was kinda silly really. A dozen mods, and every one had a joye, cisco, or HH357 drip atty on it. But it just really worked for me, I would have 15 different flavors in a day, easy. The Kayfuns were game changers, FOR ME. The first tank that I felt was worthwhile, flavor-wise. Now I'ma drop another bomb on ya, Andria. Every atty I get, I rip the driptips off, and put on a ming Cherry Vapes acrylic tip. Just fits my mouth like a glove. In fact, if you have interest, they're available for $3 each. I bought like.. 100 of em. :D Oh, I put the atty side in a drill motor, and put some polishing compound then toothpaste on a toothbrush? Soft like acrylic, polished like glass!

But I wouldn't go TOO far down the rabbit hole of tootle puffing. Never say never.. I've had Penelopes, Ithaka's, Prometheus, bunch more. All basically MTL and no more vapor than a Kayfun.

But then, July of 2015 happened. Two seemingly unrelated events A Petri. It was an accident! I swear! A dual coil fell into it, and I couldn't fine the REGULAR cap, so I put on that thing that looks like a nuclear plant water tower! And a Uwell Crown. OCC's I didn't have to build. HAD to try it...

That stuff doesn't MTL very well, so I coughed a bit at first. Big clouds. The Mrs. looked at me like I was an idiot. But that has all changed now. I don't cough any more. ;)

Good morning, Dear. Good morning Vaping Underground. Good morning, John Boy, go get some fucking firewood.

WHERE?!?! can I find Cherry Vape Mings for $3???? DO TELL!!! I've got a striped one that reminds me of a Cherry Vape, but I don't think it is... still pretty though.

Kayfuns were game changers for me, too -- I used T3S's before them, and kept bitching and bitching about wicking, leaking, dry hits, gurgling... aaaaaaand repeat ad infinitum. Kayfun was the first GREAT vape I ever had. But then I started making that strawberry & cream that gunks to black inside 10ml, so I had to stop using a tank so I could quit wasting so much juice to backwash-browning. Got a Magma, which was a pretty good vape, but a leaky little bitch. Got an Achilles... and after I used it for about 6 months, I could no longer be happy with a kayfun, which has really irked me, having 4 of them. But while I've had this cold and my nose hasn't worked right, I've taken a break from the strawberry; I'm hoping that when I return to it, I'll be happy vaping it from a Kayfun again -- a nano, so it doesn't hold so much and have that backwash problem again.

But I'll never be anything but a MtL tootle puffer. The only time I ever tried a lunghit, I thought I was gonna have to go to the hospital: ASTHMA doesn't like direct lung hits; in fact sometimes it doesn't like ANY hits, but MtL, 10w, 2Ω, is mild enough that it doesn't usually cause me a problem. And I just love how that low watts/high ohms saves my batteries -- just changed out one of my LG HE2's this morning... after 2 full days of use. Can't beat that with a STICK! :D

I'm very happy with the "American Weigh Scales LB-501" from Amazon. It has all the features we need.
Hmm..I like that it comes with a calibrated weight and it's available from a Canadian supplier so I don't have to pay exchange rate:)

Amazing, it's $63.99CND and Moueix can get it for 23 smackaroos:mad:

I use mostly TFA flavorings. A couple FA's, a couple CAP's and one LA flavor. I have to put on 2 pair of glasses to see the graduations sometimes but, haven't had any complaints from my customers due to inconstancy.

yah - majority of my background is culinary, but i do have a some organic chem lab experience - to your point, it IS food, from a flavor perspective - the chemistry might give you numbers, but it can't quantify the flava

I took a few organic chem classes back in my younger years....
- that when I realized I hated to measure things

I never ever measure food except baked goods (because small differences in measurements can mean huge mess ups)

I have to measure hubbys juices. He will bitch about the slightest difference in flavor.

My own? Few drops of this few drops of that, close enuff. I only diy because I hate most vendor juices. I don't enjoy it or even want to do it. Kinda like building lol

I agree but the old fart factor MUST be factored in.

The old fart factor is when you stat getting to an age where you can no longer read small print regardless of how close or far you hold it from your face.

I couldn't find my reading glasses one day and had to resort to using an old welding helmet with a cheater lens in it while mixing some juice. Wife walked in and laughed her arse off at me.

It was humiliating:tantrum:

Not to put any pressure on you. But when will you have details.

I hope soon. Unfortunately, we had to make changes. Somehow the deck ended up on an atty made by another company!

I would never bash tootle puffers! Boreas is kind of heavy compared to an Achilles. It's SS, thick glass and holds 8ml of juice.

Can you mention the specs on the upcoming Merlin, or is it still a design secret? ;)

Andria

I really can't yet because of all the sinister shit going on with vaping :( Our deck design was stolen. So was my idea of the airhole insert. We are on our third redesign due to all the theft already.

Hmmm... the iPV Mini could probably handle it fine, it's such a heavy mod... but it might overwhelm my CF4s, which are fairly solid but not really heavy. I know you wouldn't bash tootle puffers, being an "all round" vaper yourself... but it really is getting harder and harder to find really good atties suitable for tootle puffers. I don't want anything that uses pre-made coils, want strictly rebuildable... but those are becoming more and more the province of huffers rather than vapers. :(

And that just sucks royally. Not that you have to keep it secret; I know most folks that design things like to keep their secrets until the big reveal... but that someone would steal the design. I hope the airhole insert idea will remain, even if perhaps implemented differently; it would be a godsend for MtL vapers like me, even though most these days prefer the wide-open draw.
