Very cool. I'm impressed Rixy. Good job! I'm just thinking my brain is getting too old. Wish I had gotten more into all this earlier. I did repair for 10 years and then training/report writing for 6 more. Now it's just T-sql with SSRS and SSMS.

I really like the "For Dummies" books. I had the first one DOS For Dummies when I decided to quit sales and use my degree. I had to brush up on everything.

Efest may make questionable batteries, but their chargers seem solid. The first charger I bought was a Nitecore i4, and it didn't last a year before it started getting REALLY hot while charging, so I bought an efest Luc2, 2 bay, and it's going on 2 yrs old now and still works just fine. But when it hit a year old, I went ahead and got an Xtar 2 bay, the one that tells you how long approx it will take to charge, and I'm now an Xtar fangrrl. I figured they must be expensive, everyone says they're so great, but they're no more costly than a competitive product from Efest (comparing 2 bay to 2 bay, 4 bay to 4 bay, etc). Plus if you order from xtardirect, you get free shipping, no matter the size of the order. And from all accounts, they can actually "fix" a battery that's been slightly over-discharged, and are probably the safest chargers available.

I am still using a 2 bay Trustfire charger I got for 7.99 almost 2 years ago.
And an i2 charger that I won.
Have another Trustfire as backup.

I think by the time DOS for Dummies came out, I'd already read DOS Power Tools cover to cover -- still got that one on the shelf, it's been repaired numerous times with duct tape. That was the one that taught me batch file "programming" (it sort of is, if you use the errorlevels -- "if errorlevel" is one of the few conditionals you can do with DOS). I do have an HTML for Dummies, but again, I'd already gone beyond it, with HTML Artistry -- GREAT book for exploring the interplay between HTML and CSS, and some fairly advanced (at the time) CSS.

But I've never even looked at Java, so I figured "for Dummies" was entirely appropriate.

DOS, now there's a blast from the past, I wrote a game for the Spectrum 128k, it was pages and pages of code for a bat and ball game but it worked and for my age I made a pretty good game that was almost as good as the developers who were adults. DOS was my introduction to the world of computer programing language.

My biggest regret is not working for a gaming company, I had the potential but went down a different path, still did OK for myself but working for Naughty Dog would of been so much fun.

I also had to write a game once for a mainframe. All I remember was that is was a horse racing game. I swear I think it may have been binary but it's been too long for me to remember. Or, maybe I just blocked it out of my mind. hehehehehe

Hex is neat -- naturally I first discovered it when I was getting into the tech nuts and bolts of DOS, and I kept a note of what the A-F stood for on the bulletin board above my desk for YEARS... good thing, when I got into HTML, since it uses hex color codes to describe 16 million colors! Tried explaining those codes to my son once, the mathematical genius, and he just couldn't get it. So I gave him a neener neener on the chemistry he tried to explain to ME. Fuck a mole, a mole is something that grows on your skin, or burrows under your house!

pure binary machine lang programming was my intro to programming in the mid 70's.
You do understand how a CPU works when you program in pure binary and not wimping out using ASM.

Yup, even today on the latest phones all color font, backgrounds, divider lines ect are all hex codes, goes for most things tbh
