Very cool. I'm impressed Rixy. Good job! I'm just thinking my brain is getting too old. Wish I had gotten more into all this earlier. I did repair for 10 years and then training/report writing for 6 more. Now it's just T-sql with SSRS and SSMS.
Well, it's awfully quiet in here today. So I bid you all good night! Oh, and Cromley, Nibiru isn't near yet.
No, it's in Harker Heights TX
I like the O'Reiley books the best for programming languages. My book on Java for Dummies should be here one day this week.

The O'Reilly books are excellent for reference.I figured I'd better start off with Java as if I'm a dummy, because when it comes to programming, I really am. But hopefully that can be resolved.

Yippie! !My book on Java for Dummies should be here one day this week.

I need to get me one of those. My charger is 4 years old now and crappy.I just bought one of those super-awesome Efest six bay chargers
I really like the "For Dummies" books. I had the first one DOS For Dummies when I decided to quit sales and use my degree. DOS, now there's a blast from the past, I wrote a game for the Spectrum 128k, it was pages and pages of code for a bat and ball game but it worked and for my age I made a pretty good game that was almost as good as the developers who were adults. DOS was my introduction to the world of computer programing language.I think by the time DOS for Dummies came out, I'd already read DOS Power Tools cover to cover -- still got that one on the shelf, it's been repaired numerous times with duct tape. That was the one that taught me batch file "programming" (it sort of is, if you use the errorlevels -- "if errorlevel" is one of the few conditionals you can do with DOS). I do have an HTML for Dummies, but again, I'd already gone beyond it, with HTML Artistry -- GREAT book for exploring the interplay between HTML and CSS, and some fairly advanced (at the time) CSS.
But I've never even looked at Java, so I figured "for Dummies" was entirely appropriate.

I use to have a blast batch programming with DOS when I was a campus tech. I wrote my own little virus once and put it on a Science teacher's computer. He was obsessed with the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey so it was fun messing with his head.I think by the time DOS for Dummies came out, I'd already read DOS Power Tools cover to cover -- still got that one on the shelf, it's been repaired numerous times with duct tape. Mine's a 2 bay charger I got from Provape back when I got the Provari. Now that I think about it, it was more like 5 years ago.I am still using a 2 bay Trustfire charger I got for 7.99 almost 2 years ago.
And an i2 charger that I won.
Have another Trustfire as backup.
I had to write in hex for an rs232 interface board I created in 1982. That was not a lot of fun.It was really my intro to computers, period -- as well as my savior from the new baby blues -- it saved me from soap operas! After I got a bellyful of DOS, I got a modem and discovered amateur BBSs and serial com, and off I went...
Andria
LOL, I feel your painI had to write in hex for an rs232 interface board I created in 1982. That was not a lot of fun.

I got my degree in the early 80's and did sales until 1996 so I needed to brush up on some things. I'm very thankful what I learned started to come back after more than 10 years.

I also had to write a game once for a mainframe. All I remember was that is was a horse racing game. I swear I think it may have been binary but it's been too long for me to remember. Or, maybe I just blocked it out of my mind. heheheheheLOL, I feel your pain

Well Rixy is definitely the person to talk to about this stuff. Enjoy your books!!!! I has to get back to work. And, why are you up so early Andria??? lmao! I see a nap in your future. The conditionals and looping have always been the snag for me, but I'm determined not to argue for my limitations, because I'd rather not keep them. I hear that Java is actually fairly easy, and apparently it's what almost all Android apps are written in, so I'm determined to at least see what it's about. Got excellent prices on these books, on eBay, so it's not much of a financial investment.
Andria
They're still in hex! Here's a pretty blue:16 million colors!

pure binary machine lang programming was my intro to programming in the mid 70's.I had to write in hex for an rs232 interface board I created in 1982. That was not a lot of fun.
OMG!!!! That's it! It WAS binary machine language I wrote the game in.pure binary machine lang programming was my intro to programming in the mid 70's.
You do understand how a CPU works when you program in pure binary and not wimping out using ASM.
Yup, even today on the latest phones all color font, backgrounds, divider lines ect are all hex codes, goes for most things tbhThey're still in hex! Here's a pretty blue:

GFY Lucy. Well,I currently use two double-bay Nitecores that I bought used.
When I came back from vaycay - it became apparent some asshole (probably BIL) messed with one of them, because the the contact on one of the bays is bent.
Tried to bend it back into place, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
Figured I'll take the good one to work and retire the damaged one and keep it in the stash until I need it or some unfortunate comes along that could really use it.
And GFY everyone
Yeah but you cheat seeing as you can morph into any body, too fat, get another oneDryer shrink I tell ya!
