I have only one question -- in forty-two parts.
First the gear:
The tank in question is the Tobeco Mini Super - *stock* 0.5 coil (absolutely unbelievable what this thing has been through and still rockin' - but that's for another thread).
Power (which is the whole point of this post): When this thing is on my cheap & cheesy eGo ONE 2600 mAh battery, I can draw a giant, long, wonderfully flavored but relatively cool plumes of thick, sweet, white puffy goodness.
When I strap it to my much more comprehensively controllable eVic VT, I can never get quite the same experience. When I run it up around 28-ish watts (3.75-ish volts), it's pretty close. But not quite the plume or (more importantly) the flavor. Plus, more heat (which is fine, but I'd love more sweet goodness and less wet cardboard).
QUESTION PART ONE: Why? Why does my "relatively" awesome mod not give me the same vape as my cheapie "self-regulated" stick? No matter the setting... I can make it much too cool, I can make it certainly too hot (although that coil holds up), but it's just not the same.
SIDE QUESTION: Why, OH why, when I'm burning through coils left and right on every tank I have (eGos, iJust 2's, Crowns, usually in 0.5) is THIS coil holding up in ways that I only hear about in vaping legend? It *says* Tobeco, but I don't know if it's just a rebranded Atlantis (same port size, etc.) or something. I've gone through -- I dunno, 15 Atlantis coils in various tanks in the past *month* and it's driving me batty.
Are their coils special in some way? Should I start ordering them on ebay or something and using them in all my other tanks (well, the ones that I can use them in)?
Don't get me wrong here -- I know I hit hard. A few shop-folk are calling me "The Iron Lung" already. I've had (several) Atlantis coils that lasted less than a half hour. A Crown 0.5 lasted less than a day before it was dry-hitting and black. But THIS one - it's magical.
It's just frustrating.
