apparently my tail bone is fused or something with extra bone growth? so they ended up having to stick me in two other places, inject the lidocaine like four or five times, it took forever

r when they started those with me, the first one went in four places, then I went up to 6! My Dr. Has an amazing bed side manner. He knows that when I went to a big medical center in Columbus, they screwed up and hit my sciatic nerve, so I was scared out of my mind!,, he starts talking to me about my school kiddos, and it is calming to me. Tomorrow I have a meeting to find out if I am loosing my pain and believe me I am scared.

Maybe you should clarify. We learned of all the dirty old men up thread a little ways and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,your post can be read in a lewd manner.

So I go with my son last night to pick up some of his meds, girl rings it up ok that will be $3549.68 WTF why?? I never pay that much for only 5 meds!!! Paid it because obviously he can't go without but they did say I can get reimbursed once we figure out the issue. Turns out he no longer has Humana and he can't find the paperwork for what it was switched to NOW i remember why i made him an apartment in my basement.

I have always believed that all of Medicine and Psychology is based on the 'Best Guess" system. An educated guess is still a guess. Because no two people have exactly the same symptoms in the same way, all They can do is throw a prescription at it and hope it sticks.

I know there is a God, as I have died twice and am still here. So I pray that all those afflicted, will be helped. So mote it be.

They tried to put me on that shit, because they said the nerve pain was all in my head... it was a HUGE dose that they use on suicidal patients, well above and beyond for a therapeutic dose for nerve pain. That Dr. lost his license for over prescribing.

Oh and @Damwow File a complaint... it is NEVER ok for anyone drawing blood to fucking dig around.. the movement should be one motion in, draw blood out. The bevel on the needle is razor sharp in and out so digging around just cuts shit apart. Tell them next time you are on a blood thinner.

The effexor withdrawals are horrible you can't go cold turkey or you will end up in the hospital it's insane

My wife would pay you big money to not be dug around on. I'm afraid it's fairly common.

I had an iv one and it was done by an emt because that was who was available. It was easy in and easy out and didn't hurt the next day. The only problem I had was he let all the air from the iv tube flow into my vein which was disconcerting.

Got to agree on the digging needles part. More than one time have I had a needle in my arm for the person say something along the lines that isn't working and instead of trying it again in a different spot, they just turn it to hit a gusher.

I am about to loose my mind! Had therapy in the pool today which huts so bad, then a meeting about my sick leave.

As of Nov 18, I am out of sick leave and loose my insurance and have to pay my Union dues. Go figure christmas time to boot, I honestly do not know how we will survive, most of my husbands pay goes to child support! And we have a kid in college. I am just going to take my meds, curl up under the blankets and pray to God, things will work out.
On top of that the oncology dept called today the dr wants to see me Friday, I asked if my blood work would even back, she said maybe but he has all the other blood work, and the bone scan and wants to see you soon. I can see from your file he will be ordering more tests, I asked what for' and she said I really can't tell you that he will talk to you Friday morning, and you probably should make sure someone comes with you!

Talk about scared out of my mind!
On the nice side a friend from work sent me a picture of the school staff all dressed in yellow, they went to my room before school and prayed for me. Very touching I can tell you that!

Just this morning before he left work I had told my husband that I found a preorder for the God Mod for $79 and told him that's what I want for Christmas, he said, go ahead order it for now. Knowing I had this meeting, I didn't order it because I wanted to see what happened in this meeting, first time I can say that I am glad I didn't order it!!! Ok, my meds and blankets are calling me, and I am all cried out! My eyes hurt from crying, and I have this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach!

Sweetie I will pray for you, I would also suggest you start a fundraiser to help you out, I am sure there are a lot of parents that would help (even $5 helps). I have been in your shoes its not easy but stay strong and fight the urge to hide under those blankets. I am here if you just need to talk to someone!!

I think I have my sons meds all figured out, the really expensive ones werent covered by my insurance because they have to be special ordered thru a specialty pharmacy, I just spoke with his new case manager and was told if i am EVER charged more the $1.60-$3.60 I should call them right away. So, my wife has been out of town for week and left me home alone. Which is fine, but I've been making some juice for her..........................she doesn't vape.

Anyhow, she'll be home tonight and I'm not sure how things will go. I'm pretty good at getting my finger on the firing button and heating up the coil with a well primed wick but it has been a week and who knows, I might not be able to get the tank screwed in before spilling juice all over her variable wattage box,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,mod.

@Damwow sorry to hear that, I know it's scary to hear something like that from a Dr. and expect the worst with absolutely no information while you wait, for what will fell like forever in hell with anticipation for the worst. I think that is the cruelest thing that can be done to any person outside of actual physical torture ( though mental torture has more lasting scars for some). I will pray that it ends up for the best for you. Hearing that made me realize that my back spasms are not the worst I could be going through, and made me sad that someone so caring is going through worse than I.

When a fellow employee was in your situation, they could fill out a form to start such a bank that other employees could donate to. This could be used to extend the sick leave pay and benefits.

Lest one feel alone in life's great (at times) Hershey Highway: My prescription meds:
Effexor - 375mg per day
Neurontin - 1200mg per day
Trazadone - 50 to 100mg per day
Wellbutrin - 400mg per day
Seroquel - 500mg per day
Ropinerole - .75 to 1.5mg per day
Hydrochlorothiazide - 1/2 of 25mg per day
Lisinopril - 20mg per day
Prilosec - 40mg per day (problems with generic, go figure even though Dr.s claim it is exactly the same)

Been on the same regimen for several years, only dosage varies a little. Very bad things happen to my mind when I don't take my psych meds. I described one of my dreams (most would say nightmare) to my shrink. When I got up to leave I noticed an armed security guard just outside her door.

Fortunately the only real physical problem, other than extreme pain( I learned 45 years ago just to live with it) is my broken ankle. That was due to my own stupidity and clumsiness.

The point of all that was not a 'one upmanship' it was to say there are others that can sympathize and offer an ear to listen, and prayers for relief.

Live long and propagate, always better than just prospering.

Lol I am on some of those, or have been at one time, neurotic, re quip, trazadone, the Wellbutrin I tried because it helps some quit smoking. The other day, I freaked out because after I took my meds I thought I had them screwed up, and texted my husband and said if I am dead when you get home you will know it was an accident, oops just looked up and my spell check changed neurontin to neurotic lol! Must have spelled it wrong. Lol

@Damwow, do try to swallow any pride and ask your union rep if they have ever used a vacation day pool.

When I worked at IBM it was not uncommon for someone with a long term medical condition to be the benefactor of one such pool.

Other employees basically donated half a day, or a full day of vacation to a pool to help the person in need.

Some companies that allow bankable sick days will allow this using sick days instead of vacation days. IBM's sick policy is more of an honor system, so we didn't have that one.

Also make sure to ask if you do actually have a long term disability policy that you are not directly paying money for. It is common practice for companies to pay for a 50% policy as a benefit with the option to buy it up to a higher level like I was so that I could preserve 66% of my income, which has been one of the best decisions of my life.

Kids are so easy but then again I was a daycare teacher and had 16 1-2 yr olds in my class so much fun never a dull moment and kept me on my toes.
Thayer please tell your wife how lucky she is, I do everything work all day (hubby is home by 4 me between 6-8) I go home cook clean whatever mess him and the boys left iron his clothes and whatever else needs to be done. usually don't even get to sit before 10pm
