It is my first time ordering from them. It is allot of wire for a good price though so it will be worth it.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Dawn told me about them. First chance I get I'll order some other gauges too, for some more advanced builds later on.

I love it, it doesn't have any oddities like kanthal and nichrome can. I didn't realize it until I started using ss.

I like just having to pulse it a little and your done.

None of the pre-heating and tons of pulsing before you can build.

Ikr? And I loved the freedom of using it universally. Some liquids taste better inn wattage and others in tc. I only recently found the truth of this.

So if I was going to start you both would suggest that I go straight to what is its correct name, SS316 or 316SS??

I do all of my tc in tcr mode myself. The only ss mode for the IPV5 is ss304. So tcr it is LOL. Now I'm used to it so that's all I use now.

I just found a spool of 32g kanthal that I am tossing in the box as well. I think I used a few feet of it a while back.

Morning PIF Fam! This is shaping up to be a good weekend! I finally got my Gold status.

I can now Stay Gold.

@Dawn0810 I'm so sorry for you loss. From what you posted, it is what she would have wanted, though, and you can take comfort in the fact that she's no longer in pain ***hugs***

@cr1d3r - sorry to hear about your losses as well. :(

Indeed, now I need more smaller gauge wire. No more vape budget for a bit sadly. My conundrum is that the wire was so springy that is kept wrapping up on itself as I was twisting it with my drill. Now I need to figure out how to stop that.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
For kanthal, I anneal it (if it didn't come that way already) to get rid of that springiness. Annealing is where you heat it up, generally until glowing (I use a pencil torch and a good quality, 3X+ refined butane such as Vector or Newport) and let it cool down slowly. When you do that, it becomes softened and easily workable. As you work metal, by bending, coiling, etc., annealed metal will regain hardness, so when making complex wires, you may need to anneal again when you go to turn it into a coil.

I'm not sure about annealing things like Ni, since I've read that Ni when heated to certain temps releases some nasties. Hopefully @CrazyChef will chime in on that.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to get my hands on a torch and try that. I really want to make this work because I want too try this kind of coil.

Yes, torching Ni200 is not a good idea, that's why I offered to send @Vapingbeauty new coils to replace the ones that I originally sent her.

But, for other metals, yes - it will definitely help. You can also buy wire that has already been annealed for you by the manufacturer.

Thank you so much !! I don't usually torch Ss or bother pulsating it should I be

I pulse my SS coils very gently, but only enough to identify and work out any hot spots. Definitely don't pulse them past a dull orange glow.

Welcome. I'm not sure what lengths of wire you're dealing with, but for larger mass, a bigger torch is needed. However, I don't think I'd recommend bigger because it doesn't take much to go from heated for annealing to melting your metal.

Also be sure to work on a surface that wont be damaged ;) I use a ceramic soldering board, but you could make do with other materials. Even the concrete driveway would work (just not a blacktop/tar one *laf*)

Ok, thanks alot for the suggestion. Will be a bit before I can get a torch though. I wonder if a heat gun would help at all too. I think that dad has a spare one of those.

I have my doubts that it could heat the metal hot enough. If we're talking strictly kanthal, you could always try your range top. If gas, pass it through the flame while holding it with pliers (it's not gonna take very much flame to do it) then lay on heat proof surface to cool, if electric could be trickier.

Sadly it's electric. That's ok. I'll see what I can find on YouTube too. Never know what you find there.

Well....sadly no epif-pifmas for Moma today...I'm forced to buy a post office box because I " live too close to the post office"...I can't get mail at my address...and for whatever reason they didn't put my treasure in the locker box...maybe I have to sign or something...so I had to bring someone to dialysis out of town and we didn't get back until 11:45....yeah they close the window at 11:30....well I will have fun monday...have to repolish my additions or something....I'll try to get it back out Tuesday though...

When my wife stole my iSub V i hadn't even screwed it onto a mod.... This time she has gone to far!! After a full day of enjoying the insane flavor the little CoilArt Mage produces i set it down to charge the batteries in my RX200... and now its on my wifes kbox mini. I fear it will only return to my possession long enough to rewick it when needed haha.

That's why I'm glad that mine doesn't vape and mom only does MTL, so no worries LOL

If it helps her she is more than welcome to it honestly. She has been right on the cusp of going full vaper but still can't quite nail down a satisfying enough experience for total commitment. The iSub V was the 1st tank she found enjoyable enough to use consistently with a small selection of juices, it was a big eye opener for her. As soon as she stole my new Mage tonight though she was chain vaping like a seasoned pro for the 1st time since this adventure began for us a few months ago.

Then I say to let her love it. I hope that mom finds a setup like that so that she'll get off of the stinkies. The Russian 91% is helping a little it seems, hoping to find a clincher for her though.

If it does the trick its all hers. The Russian looks an awful lot like the Lemo Drop i have. Odd little tanks and annoying as hell to fill through a little screw hole.

The Russian 91% was the first RTA I could build without tons of problems, either leaking or dry hits, or sometimes both lol

A bit of a hassle to fill, but my B&M guy gave it to me free and I built it for her. I have to say that the flavour in that thing is phenomenal. Well worth it.

I gotta find them somewhere - I bought like 100 plastic replacement screws for the bottom fill. I'll send you a few when I run across them if you want.

I got them to replace the metal one because they are sometimes known to leak. Mine never did, but I did replace it with a plastic one anyway. I must have refilled it over 100 times with the same plastic replacement screw and never even a hint of a drop.
