Good morning Flavor Guru's :) I have a question about doing test samples. The couple of recommendations I have seen are to use 6ml base and 1 drop per % of flavor. If 33 drops is about 1 ml wouldn't it be 3ml and 1 drop per % of flavor?

I havent tried any of those lavender and them weird ones like that lol. you should get it. I wonder what its like

I have all the florals. I don't use them often, but they haven't been as hair-raising as the meat ones you've tried. I know some people like vaping flowers; I haven't been able to take them too far. The vapor trail definitely smells like old ladies.

Micro-amounts of lavender in tea is okay. It tastes just like you think it would. Like vaping a stalk from a lavender plant (leaves and flowers, it all smells the same) kinda sweet, a bit balsam, just like real lavender.

Jasmine tea is a little more mainstream and would appeal to more people. I seldom vape tea, but when I do, I don't hate a tiny bit of jasmine. It tastes just like the smell of jasmine flower. Perfect replica.

Rose is getting farther out there. If you like rose candy, there ya go. I got it for authentic Turkish delight candy flavor, which has rose water.
@chickenmonkey posted a recipe for that.

Neroli, orange blossoms. Yep, it sure is. Just like hippie incense and aromatherapy. The sharp edge on neroli makes me gag...not as much as crab would.

Bergamot, sometimes included in florals, but really is the very fragrant flavor of bitter orange peel. It was the first floral I got, and it gagged me like Neroli does. But one day I realized it is the flavor in Grand Marnier liqueur, which I like a lot, and all that changed. I wouldn't be without it, but only to make that liqueur flavor. Orange, Bergamot, Brandy, a magic trio. Usually with something creamy. Awesome. My experience with this flavor is why I keep all the other florals. I wouldn't be surprised to have a similar experience with any of the others....just waiting for that day.

Violet, see Rose, haha! It's sweet. Tastes like the smell in springtime when those fragrant purple/white Johnny-Jump-Up flowers bloom in yards. There are violet candies, and this will make them. Chickenmonkey did that, too.

Ylang-ylang - I can't stomach the smell of that incense, will not buy this one. FA doesn't have patchouli, but if they did, I'd avoid that, too.

As long as Clair mentioned Rosemary, I will defend that one as leaves, which makes it an herb. lol! Like Lavender, it kind of blurs the line, I guess. But I love Rosemary when I'm in the mood for it. Plain or with lemon. I vaped rosemary in lemon cookies and didn't hate it. I'm like a cat with catnip around rosemary plants, just a weird fetish of mine.

With all of them, you really want to be aware of the vapor trail. Vaping florals is like becoming a mobile incense burner, and it'll really offend some people. Extremely fragrant stuff. On the other hand, you might attract a crowd of admiring grannies, if that's your goal.

Yes, 1 drop per 3ml is about 1%. Go up to 6ml for half percentages.

I had some lavender snus that was pretty good. Might be able to mix some of these florals with tobacco.

I loved these candies back in the day! There's mint flavored.

I have bergamot in a cart right now. Been wanting to use that flavor.

I can see jasmine being good as a front flavor but can see most of these as an additive with a few other flavors. Or to enhance and not so much detect their flavors.

Rose water is used in many mixed drinks. Which leads me to liquor. Com for inspiration. Tevana has been another good source for me for mixtures of these type of flavors.

Hoping PV has most of these flavors.

Oh in regards to aroma. I wonder if lavender vape is relaxing? And I'm sure that floral / herb smell would appeal to many.

In regards to vape mixing with foods.

Many moons ago I did taste testing at general foods. Not because I have a great pallet.

What they did was put me in a cubby hole with a red light. If I remember correctly. So I couldn't exactly see the food and have it play with how I thought it might taste.

There would be a drink. A pudding. Which is what they were developing. And maybe chips or cake or pizza.

They wanted to know what tasted good with their product. So if at party and pudding packs were served more than likely chips will be at party. Etc.

I find with vaping depending on what I eat or what im drinking at the time will dictate what I'm vaping.

Anyone else? Does a particular food make your decision on what you're vaping? Or does some vape taste better our worse depending on good you just ate?

Your post makes me want to vape vanilla pudding . :)

I don't have the overwhelming desire to vape after food intake like I did with with cigarettes. If anything I vape less when food is thrown into the mix .

I also don't want any smells coming from my vape if I can help it.

Absolutely, Yes!

But maybe backward for me. I vape new flavor combos all the time. A good one inspires me to look online at products/recipes with similar flavors. Those prompt changes in my vape recipe. If I love it, then I want to try those foods. When I have a perfect vape and the real thing to nibble/sip at the same time, it's like nirvana.

I don't really like contrasting vape and food/drink. If I'm chewing mint gum, I don't want a chocolate vape. In fact, that would prompt me to come up with a chocolate-mint vape and food/drink to enjoy at the same time. If/when I must choose between vaping a flavor and the real thing, I'd pick vaping it. That's how much I enjoy a great vape. Like some kind of lab rat, I'd starve to death while enjoying a great vape. lol!

I like the combo of drinks with vape. I dont drink alcohol anymore - but with coffee, teas etc.. I prob vape more with coffee for example vs when I smoked I prob only had 1 smoke - And I was a chain smoker at one point of my 32 yrs.

Smells. I can taste what I vape. in fact my tastebuds are very sensitive now. but I hardly smell what I'm vaping. Well, if I leave my office & come back in I can smell flavors but thats because I have sheolves of flavors in here!

BUT I can smell anything else in the house. when partner smokes by garage door & it vents in house - yuck! cleaners, candles, food, dog farts :p I find it odd I can not smell what I'm vaping. I get a lot of people asking about my energy drink vape - they think its awesome. Or my partner thinks my RY4 vape smells like ass - especially when i cloud up the living room.

Does anyone have a really good grape recipe. I need one for the hubby. I have tried and just can't get it. I don't particularly like grape myself.

Ok. Just made it up. We find that the concord grape gives a floral flavour. Did you find this. It is good, but looking for a grape juice flavour. I have tried concord grape, white grape and tfa grape juice. Can't it close to the flavour he wants. Fussy bugger.

HIC had mentioned a while back that a touch of apple and pear could work for a "juice". Maybe it would help? You could always try one, then the other if necessary.

I would come at it from the back end. Mix Apple (not Fuji) and/or Pear and/or White Grape. Almost strong enough to vape on its own. I think that works best with Pear very light, if included at all (so you don't taste it clearly). Then add 0.5% Concord and inch up until it's grape-juicy. IMO it's not sweet enough, and those other flavors give it that sweetness and boost the flavor so you won't need a perfumy amount. Concord WILL be the prominent flavor, even as a minor ingredient, if your taste buds are anything like mine. Another good partner for it is BlackCurrant for that zingy sweet-and-tart effect (very little, .25% even), but IMO Europeans used to that flavor would likely taste it clearly. We Americans, not so much.

I think you are right about that, Hermit. This place has the flavor concentrates and will ship to the U.S.: http://www.idealvape.com/

Shipping for my cart (I was just testing it out, didn't actually order) was $16, so it would take a cartful to be worth it...and they aren't cheap, either.

Atmos worked with Dr. Farsalinos, they do biological (live cell) testing, and they've either reformulated or are still in the process to remove (they specifically state diacetyl, acetyl propionyl, and acetoin). The MSDS is available for every single flavor, right on the manufacturer's flavor listings. So their dedication level is at least as high as FA, and disclosure is (arguably) superior. From a quality-safety viewpoint, I'm totally impressed.

I want to try their many chocolates, coffees, creams, and the weird flavors other guys don't have. I really am a cheapskate, though... I'll have to be in the right mood and with unexpected spare cash before I leap. Meanwhile, I'll brush up on my Greek and find online discussions about their products. (no, I don't know Greek!)

I know we don't do vendor juice too much( I've still got like 200-300 ML im knocking off a bit at a time) but mad Murdock has this stuff called maja ras or something like that it's all floral and incense. It's like packing a fucking hippie into your kayfun and vaping him. In the immortal words of Wllmc in his crab review This is not good.

Hic. Back a while ago you referenced this site. Took me a while to find it.
I'm posting for chickenmonkey.

Not sure if this is a juicy grape juice but similar to what Hic suggested.

Id use most of what's listed in the fruit ingredient section.

Hey you all - thought I would explain what is going on with me and my weird mouth lol. A friend of mine went through this also and said I'd get my mouth back hopefully soon LOL. I am ok I just can not do all my flavorings until it comes back so am just vaping the Cuban Supreme for now. I figured out it has nothing to do with vaping because even stopping it did not help. I am still looking forward to making and testing all the recipes dang it.:p:D

Wow... Why is it the long threads always interest me the most?

The plethora of information on these pages is staggering, especially to a noob. I thank all of you for your incredible generosity to the vaping community.

I'm almost ready to make my first DIY order. Still organizing things in my mind. and searching for some specific flavorings. Has anyone posted comprehensive notes for other manufacturer's flavorings similar to HIC's brilliant FA notes?

Has anyone investigated the Amoretti flavorings that were mentioned originally with the Atmos? I would love to try Amoretti's Calvados, Sweet Vermouth, Anejo Tequilla, Madiera, Port, etc.

Has anyone found any aromatic bitter flavorings along the lines of Angostura or Peychaud? Can we use the actual bitters in vaping, perhaps by mixing a 10% solution in PG/VG? I prefer non-creamy, drier cocktails.

I've picked out a few recipes here to start with. But what I'd love to do is order one of each flavor from a few of manufacturers and lock myself in the house for a month. I think I'd skip the usual suspects: bread crust, Mary Jane, crab, etc. I'm not much of a masochist. ;)

Thanks again to you all! I hope to contribute something in the future...

FA Strawberry has the taste of a fresh, ripe strawberry. CAP Sweet Strawberry tastes more artificial and closer to a prepared, jarred strawberry topping/filling or Strawberry Quick. I've seen the two combined, often in equal amounts. Does this give the effect of a homemade pie filling or desert topping?

FA Banana tastes like a mild, yellow banana. Does anyone make a ripe banana flavor? I'm not looking for a runt/candy flavor but that of a lightly speckled, ripe banana (not solid brown/over-ripe).

I know that botboy compiled a list of reviews from others on reddit ecig. Google reddit ecig flavor reviews. Some are his reviews as well as some from others. Not sure on accuracy as I am a newbie and went mostly with flavourart due to HICs wonderful notes & with the 22 flavourart flavors I purchased HICs notes are dead on & a great asset. Hoping to see others put in there thoughts on flavoring as well. But know this takes a lot of time. Heartfelt thank yous to all who have. Botboy posted a lot on redditt. Thanks!
