As opposed to Dixie, all my experiment juices are 10ml.
But, point me to a link for a scale which works for this weight of juice.
Another forum I post on a lot of them are using this one. Just make sure it's accurate to 0.01 grams. There are a lot of them on Ebay and Amazon.

I make 1.5ml testers because I do not want to waste much if I do not like it. Making 10ml testers to me is a lot of waste if I end up not liking the mix. And I do happen to be a super taster so yeah other than dilution there is no solution, ugh. Thank You all for the replies. :D

I'm just curious how you accurately mix that small of a sample. Maybe I can learn something new :)

That is one way I hadn't thought of and it definitely would work but ya would have a bunch of 10% dilution bottles kicking around though.

I do. If you are making 1.5ml tester everything under .75% is under the .01 grams that your scale can measure.

I'm not wanting to argue with everyone but do a bunch of you seriously make 1.5ml testers? I would think the larger you are making your test batches the more accurate the sample will be. One single drop to much or to less is not going to affect a 10ml mix as much as it does a 1.5ml one.

ok using 1 for SG
.75% of a 1.5ml is .01125
.5% is .0075
so yes that would be hard to differentiate with a scale

but im not sure of a flavoring that a .25% difference in a TESTER is going to make a major difference teh main flavors that are usually 1% or higher are important

i personally mix about 6-10ml for a sample
that way i can try it 2 or 3 times
maybe add more of a flavor after the first try
let it steep and try again
plus i use tanks and 1.5ml would barely cover the coils

The reason I asked about weight for small tiny amounts is because I use tiny wee amounts of flavorings. I am right now testing some ready made juices w/extra flavorings at 2% - and yes I can taste them. I guess I will just have to do my DIY my way. Thanks everyone for the input. ;)

Ever since I started using an open AFC drip atty, dual coil, big wire, 60-75 watts, I started guzzling juice... 30ml a day sometimes. (Dropped nic to 1mg)

My testers are 30ml. All relative I guess - a chain-vape-day's worth. Long live DIY haha...

Maybe there's something wrong with me but sometimes I need to chain vape something for a day to determine if I like the mix :p There are roughly 4-5 recipes I could vape all day every day, I'm just looking to expand that list.

I like making 6ml testers with the little PureVapes bottles at 1 drop equals about .5%. This way I can fill a tank and I feel like by the end of the tank, it has sort of gone through a steep from the atty warming and cooling and hanging out in my pocket. Also, a tank lasts me about a day so I can see if it could be an ADV for me.

I have a rule. Nothing goes into a bottle until there's a label on it. Otherwise I KNOW I'll forget what it was. I do end up with some labeled bottles I never actually filled. lol - short attention span.

Hotrods Juice Calculator has a great label printing function. Every bottle gets a label as soon as the top goes on.

Hmmm, how does this work with flavors that need to be steeped? Do you simply drip a sample, then let whats left steep? Steep it before you drip? Or toss it without steeping after you've sampled?

Just curious, since I've found 10ml samples to work best for me. And your small samples would drive me nuts lol

Thanks, just looked at that and it's really interesting.
But, I'm curious. Some of my samples/experiments call for 1 drop of flavoring in a 10ml base.
What does one drop weigh?

@PuffPuffPass if I am trying a flavoring that needs to be steeped I will do a 3ml bottle and let it steep for a week then try it. If it is not ready then I will let it steep some more. I only do maybe 3ml of juice a day so to me having a 10ml bottle of a maybe I will like it juice does not work for me. I use Kanger EVODs and Kanger Protanks to taste test, I tried dripping and did not like it at all. Also I will leave the tested sample in whatever tank/clearo I tasted it in to steep as I have many. :)

Cardamom on the way chef.;) What would you pair with cardamom for a easy 2 mix recipe just so I can get a grip on it? I'm liking my new version of Key Lime Cookie(lite). I'm beginning to realize that my buds are gearing themselves to lighter more refined flavors now that I'm using FA in the majority of my mixes. After vaping pre-made overly sweet vendor juice for so long, it's almost like when I went from smoking to vaping. I'm beginning to rethink everything.
A couple of easy mixes with Cardamom (guessing on these off the top of my head, played around with both profiles a little)

1.5% FA Cookie
0.5% FA Cardamom

or

1.5%-2% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% FA Cardamom

Then you'll want to do
1% Cookie
1.5% Vienna
0.5% Cardamom

That is one way I hadn't thought of and it definitely would work but ya would have a bunch of 10% dilution bottles kicking around though.

I would love to be able to mix 1.5ml testers but the smallest I can usually get away with is 3. I don't do many dilutions so 5ml is my norm. I only go higher once I'm really happy with the mix.

I don't bother steeping something unless its good after a day (I have had several mixes that were nasty as a shake and vape and pretty good 12-24 hrs later). If it's bad after 24hr, another 7 days isn't usually going to fix it.

Other times it's steeped before I get a chance to try it.

Does anyone use ultrasonic cleaners? If so what one under $100 would one get? I really want a hotplate stirrer but I'm having troubles finding one in my price range.

If you have a crock pot, you can use that on low heat, up to 8 hours, most usually at 4 hours.

Harbour Freight sells 2 models of UC for under $100. Although they don't have stirrers.

I'd spend the extra cash on more flavors myself, as UC's really aren't worth it IMO.
Just shake it up good and put it away for 24hrs...
I second this.

Super glue a small Irwin quick clamp to a sawzall blade. Put clamp/blade in sawzall (reciprocating saw in more learned circles), clamp bottle in clamp, BBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRR and DONE. I can't believe I was shaking by hand for this long. Harbor Freight has everything you need for probably $40.

How well does this work on 12 & 32 ounce bottles?

OOOOOO is that a roller? I was trying to invent one myself this weekend for MF VG dilutions and mixing my VG/nic base.
Yes it is. I think its a great idea to keep the juices rolling (hahaha). Its got a steep price tag but may work out very well. No timer but you can plug it into any household timer if you want it to run for a specific period of time or whatever. I am seriously thinking of trying one out

Uh no lol That's a lot of cash for DIY.
32oz is a lot of juice for DIY. ;)

Quick googling shows $600-$2k. Treadmills can be found super cheap used. Add a foam roller at the bottom. This would even work for @PuffPuffPass!

I've been pretty much shake and vaping lately and my girlfriend is complaining that my juices are losing flavor. She says they are good at first but by the end of the bottle she can't taste anything. My mixes are mainly 75/25 to 80/20. Has anyone else had this issue ?

Only with a couple flavors, but not super fast. Lime Cold Press after about a week. Lemon Sicily after a few weeks.

I experience this with strong mixes. Especially really bright ones (lots of terpenes, citrus, mints etc). Wears out my taste buds after 10 or 15ml.

Why would you take the hot dog sign off?!

I'm going to start calling around and see who gets the hot dog machines when they break. If I could find one with a dead heating element I would be set. I've thought about it and building one isn't cost effective for me. I was thinking every other roller could be passive but I don't think there will be enough weight in the bottles to roll the passive rollers. I'm back to a treadmill or a used hot dog or lab roller.

Most of my mixes are under 10%, I'm just trying to get her to stop spending 25$ every other day on vendor juices. Maybe I should let them steep for a day or two before they get vaped.

It might be that she's used to heavily flavored vendor juices and under 10% FA isn't enough flavor.... Just a thought.
What recipes have you tried and maybe we can make suggestions...

She is hooked on Victoria by pin up. The last juice I made was :
Strawberry 2.5%
Yogurt 1%
Custard 1%
Vienna cream 1%
Mixed at 75/25 3mg vaperstek nic
She said it was really good, then the next day she said she couldn't taste it anymore, maybe I should get her a new coil. Subtank mini .5 vaped around 20w ( I think ). But like you said vendor juice is so sweet, especially Victoria.

Try adding 2% Baverian Cream. Then let it steep for about a week. You could do that with what you have already. And if she's used to really sweet Flavors, that's probably what you need to do. The sweetness really starts to kick on day 6 or 7.

As I side note, I really like strawberry. But it needs to be at 5% (but no more) for me to taste. Of course, that will depend on what brand you use.

My new recipies are mainly all fa, unless fa doesn't make it .
