I made my way through the recipe section and I think I am going to give some FA club recipes a go.

HIC's Swiss Bliss, Lemon Meringue Pie and his FA adaption of glassgrl's Bit O'Honey. Also downinTn's cigar blends.

HIC, I was wondering if you had come up with an FA substitute for the Inawera nougat in the Bit O'Honey? I was also thinking about trying a Zero Bar juice which would also require a good nougat. Don't know if anyone has attempted a white chocolate either.

I think I should at least put a week between my last purevapes order for the sake of marital peace but the list is growing fast.

No FA sub for that Inawera nougat. It has a malty flavor, and so far no malt flavor without diacetyl/subs has been produced....to my knowledge.
Ditto on white chocolate. TFA's is the best, but it has custard notes.

Working with chocolate (Swiss Bliss) and honey (Bit o' Honey) wouldn't be my choice for your first couple of mixes. Those both may take some detailed twiddling to suit you, especially the honey one. My best lemony recipe IMO is definitely Limoncello Torrone Parfait. But whatever you mix, if it uses FA, I'm always willing to help people tweak the results if I can. ...could I talk you into a simple but perfect Cherry Coke or White Tic Tacs to accompany those? Or maybe Maple Cream Cookies or basic Cocoa Cookies ? I just want to be sure you have something easy to mix, a fairly forgiving recipe, sure to be a hit...

You could probably talk me into anything you think is good but I haven't enjoyed any commercial soda juices that I have tried. I gravitate toward more earthy sweets or realistic but bold fruits. I don't think I have tried any true mint vapes. I don't usually like a cooling element but something like a mint tea sounds good. To start maybe I should try some of the suggestions in your flavor notes. I would like to make some fresh fruit juices maybe the white peach or a strawberry.

I just remade Swiss Bliss with VT nic this time. Holy crapola! It's completely different! OK, not completely but dramatically. That's the one that made me believe the VT hype.

Crap, maybe I should have researched nic more. I jumped on that $50 deal from myfreedomsmokes. At 6mg thats like a bazillion ml of juice.

It's certainly one hell of a deal! Some like MFS nic some don't. I've heard it's inconsistent but $50 for a liter it's well worth it IMHO. I just started using VT nic, and swiss bliss really shows the difference it can make!

@ClaireW , thanks for the info for the Pure Vapes 30mls. I was paying $7, so I'm glad it dropped a bit. Nikhil is a really nice guy. Ben looks intimidating, lol, but also very nice.

Flavourart responded to my questions about their cytotoxic analysis. They stated that they tested about 30 flavors, which is a lot more than they listed in the published data that I found. They said they halted that testing to divert the clearstream funds to Dr. Farsalinos' clinical trials but will be starting up again soon. They said they do use acetoin "in tiny amount(s)", they removed diacetyl from the flavors in the e-cig line and never used acetyl propionyl. I'm not sure exactly what this means "latest info we got about it (acetoin) seems to exclude a similar role for it compared to diacetyl". In context I think they are saying it doesn't have the same health concerns but could also be referring to its flavor characteristics. I think acetoin is not considered an irritant and is really only criticized because in some cases diacetyl is found as a contaminant in its production. Anyway just passing on to anyone that might be interested.

edit: Counting the flavors listed in the HIC's HOMEVAPE PEANUT BUTTER thread I get 30.

Speaking of fruits, PAPAYA! Wow!

FA Papaya is like the white peach of FA's tropical fruits, just as impressive and delicious. Sweet, bold, awesome flavor match to juicy hunks of real, ripe fruit. I must have not tried it with VT nic until yesterday. I have a new favorite fruit, 3% standalone or mixed! 2% Papaya + 2%Pineapple is a great pair, sweet and juicy with ideal contrast that makes both taste so good. I gotta build a recipe around them. Papaya is one you taste all through the vape, even the last trailing bit, so it blends with Coconut instead of tasting coconut separately at the end of an exhale. Papaya colada right there...

Why does nobody mention papaya? This is a true gem!

LOL - so fun to read reactions when everything comes together just right! It's great with a little FA Almond added, like sucking on a Swiss chocolate-almond candy bar, but no pointy nut shards to jab the roof of your mouth.

I really debated that nic deal, started a cart...delete, add, delete, popup calculator... I figured I'd be totally disappointed if it's not exactly like VT, so in the end I didn't buy. A $35 bottle of VT nic lasts two of us (and sometimes some friends) 3-4 months. I figure our guaranteed satisfaction is worth $10/month.

My partner and I just passed our 1 year vape-iversary. It took nearly the whole year, but we've found our favorite flavors, the best (in our opinion) nic, recipes we love, excellent clones for our favorite vendor liquids, even no-hassle hardware we're pleased with. I no longer feel compelled to buy every new thing. I don't even feel compelled to stockpile. In case of vape-ocalypse I know exactly what to buy, how much, and where. Come to think of it, that's not bad for 1 year. Best of all - we both quit smoking!

Oh good. I went ahead and pasted HIC's notes into a document with them. Looks like the green tea might have been a mistake.
You may really like it, you never know. I've personally not tried it. And maybe it can be used for an additive in a recipe. Once you're familiar with a standalone flavor, then you can get a nuance for something it may or may not compliment. It's still for science, so it's always good :)

Bilberry is really not working for me :( 3% mixed in V.T nic and it tastes nothing like blueberry. I can't even really describe what it tastes like, but it's not good.
Yet everyone seems to rave about it, it makes me wonder if i may have received a crappy batch. Does it improve with steeping? does it require a sweetener?

I would find 3% overpowering - and I sometimes need to increase percentages to taste. I use it at 1% and find it quite strong. And I don't use sweetener with it (actually I never use sweetener - only sometimes meringue or one of those flavors).

O.K I'll add nic-base and bring down the %

I had the same experience. Tried from less than 0.5% all the way up to 10%(yuck). Can not get it to taste like blueberry at all. I will be ordering another bottle from another vendor to confirm it's not just a bad batch from ECX. Like you, I was very disappointed!

Ya I just added more nic to bring it down to 1%, the only improvement is it has less flavour, which is a good thing cuz it still tastes bad:(

It may just be a "taste is subjective" thing, or my taste-balls are screwed, or maybe I got the same crappy batch lot as you. Let me know if your next order is any better.

IMO, FA Bilberry is hella strong! I found over 3-4% was absolutely nasty. I don't think I ever use it over 1%, though many people like it as high as 3+.
As a main flavor, I prefer it with plenty of sweet + cream (I use flavors for that, not sweeteners), which makes more of an American blueberry flavor. Then adding a flavor with 'high notes' (like lemon) completes it for me.

The simplest way to do that: 2% FA Custard with 0.25-0.5% Bilberry. Custard gives you cream, sweetness, and bright vanilla+lemon notes all in one flavoring. Try the 0.25% Bilberry with it first, but you'll probably 'get it' at 0.5%. This combo should taste like creamy, sweet blueberry-vanilla custard.

I was skeptical. Fruits had slight differences, seemed to "pop" a bit, nothing to write home about. I didn't like tootsie roll taste I got with WL nic, with VT nic it's a melt in your mouth creamy chocolate!

Curly, did you try Espresso with VT nic yet? It so smooooth. With all VG and VT nic, I don't even need to sweeten it. I do anyway :D

No not yet, I think espresso is my favorite followed by all the creams/vanillas. So looks like I'll be mixing again tonight!

Bummer, I really like it at 3%, but I also mix in 5% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, or NY Cheesecake with it.
But, then again, I always add vanillas, creams, or whatever, to my fruits, as I don't like them stand alone.

Just mixed this up a bit ago. Getting a pretty good smooth barrel aged whiskey and cola flavor.

Number 7
FA Cola 3%
FA Whiskey 1%
FA Oakwood .5%

Some may try Oak at .25%, depending on your tastes for the woody sensation.

Does the whiskey and oak get rid of any of the 'flat soda' flavor all the cola juices seem to have? I like cola flavor but hate the warm flat sitting open on the table for 3 hours part.

FA Cola surprised me. I'm not that into cola vapes, but I got a sample to try anyway. It was good! I've been surprised by flavors I didn't think I'd like, but got anyway. Coconut. OH HOW YUMMY. :)

Coconut is one of those flavors I'd love to love. I'm way behind on accomplishing any mixing and I still need to order all the FA stuff.

Going to try HICs cherry cola recipe. I like strong flavour. I start low and build up so my damaged taste can discern

FA Cola is a whole different animal - you should try it!

I will have been meaning to order it, was wanting to make a vanilla/cherry coke. Do you add menthol or koolada to give it a coolness?

Anyone care for a 30ml bottle of Koolada that's only had a couple of drops removed from it?

It gave me chest pains the day after trying it. I'm tempted to throw it, but I'm sure someone would like it.

Shipping is all I'd ask for. I'd even ship it for free, but we have no idea when my husband will be paid from his new job.

I didn't heed the warnings others gave about it possibly causing chest tightness. I just really wanted cool strawberries 'n' cream.

I should've listened.

Some people swear by it, though, so it doesn't affect everyone the way it does some.

Just made my cherry Coke using fa cola 4%, black cherry 2% and 3 drops of tfa koolada. It's great just wondering if I need a bit more cherry as I can't make it out. Will play with wattage a bit first. The cola is definitely a winner.

Edit. Added 1% more cherry..mmm that's the ticket. Cherry Coke vape in one hand and the real thing in the other. Listening to the thunder and wondering where that big storm in the Caribbean is going to hit. I am on the Gulf Coast. Maybe I need to add a bit of rum to my coke.
