Do you have Custard? This one was a really great combo. Papaya + Pineapple are delicious partners in equal amounts.
1.5% FA Papaya
1.5% FA Pineapple
1% FA Custard
Thanks HIC, I do but is it just an effect or do we get a fruity custard with this? I have used pineapple and papaya together and I think that would be a good fit for my tastes but I'd like to have something like this with that weird little kick of something unexpected.

Edit: Maybe peppermint, black tea, or honey? Don't have any cinnamon. Leaning toward peppermint.

HIC, did you get a chance to try the mango apricot mix?

Okay... so you had a little apricot and added a lot of mango, then you noticed a quince flavor...so you ended up mixing 3% Mango with 1% or less Apricot to match your mom's canned fruit.

To me, FA Mango is super strong, and Apricot isn't. So I started with 1% each. I predicted I'd taste only the Mango, but I tasted both flavors clearly.

I took Mango to 2%, Apricot still at 1%. I was sure I'd taste only Mango, but could still taste the Apricot.

I rarely use as much Mango as you did, but I went to 3% and took Apricot to 0.75%. Mango became floral and Apricot is still contributing something...a deeper note. Fresh Quince does have a floral effect, in my opinion. And I can see how that deeper note from Apricot could stand in for the richer, pear-like bit of a quince. I've only had them fresh, so pretty astringent... this is much sweeter, as I'm sure canned would be. (I'm also using max-VG, so it's really sweet...and a glass EVOD).

I really wish I had some canned quince to compare, instead of just my recollection of fresh. Enough of the characteristics I'm tasting are a match, so I see how it could be quince-like. You're the best judge, since you're the one who knows what those canned ones tasted like! Given what I know of fresh quince, and what I'm tasting here, I could believe quince tastes like this (3% Mango, 0.75% Apricot) when it's canned.

HIC, what percentage do you like best for FA Desert Ship and FA Virginia? As starting point, mixed both at 4% and vaped fresh. Neither seemed appealing at that level or freshness. Maxx, on the hand, is very good; well balanced, slightly sweet, and slightly fruity.

I'd pass out cold with 4% of either one, lol! I could take up to 2% of Virginia, but I gotta add Burley for some rich, low notes. Desert Ship is one I could never vape by itself. It's just too non-traditional to me (I like cig flavors, not the wild versions so much). I like adding 0.25-0.5 Desert Ship as a little spicy background to plainer tobaccos. It makes them more complete somehow. You can tell I don't do a lot of fancy tobacco mixing and don't know a lot about real tobaccos. Something like 1.5-2% Virginia, 0.5% Burley and .25% Desert Ship would be a combo I'd use. I'd probably mix it just like that, maybe end up diluting a bit.

Just to give a comparison on percents, I'd use Maxx or 7 Leaves at 3% pretty happily.

I don't have lots of FA tobacco experience; I just don't use them all that often.

Edit: I do have bitter wizard but I haven't tried it with anything yet.

To me, at least, it starts out pretty tart, then mellows out quite a bit. I don't think I've ever used it over 1%

Them's some fancy tastebuds you got there! I mixed it at 3% mango 0.75% apricot last night and it tasted canned quincy (canned sounds weird to me since it was never in a can but a glass jar...) It seemed a little lighter and a tad less sweet that way. Even though I can taste more apricot at 1% I think I might prefer that, it feels fuller and I like me some sweetness!

I mix using only VG and VG base nic, besides the flavoring, and tested it in my magma with a dual coil coming in at 0.5ohm and around 30watts. (Translates to 2x 1ohm coils running at 15watts each.)

I have tried some of my mixes in a glass EVOD and I struggle to taste much of anything. What coils and power/voltage level do you generally use?

Thank you so much for taking the time to try it and for the thoughtful response!

Oh Bob maybe you are like me. I think I am broken because I keep mixing everyone's mixes but I only ever get a faint taste of what is going on. What I am wondering I if I just automatically double the percents in the recipes if this would work or would it too much . I so badly want to taste what everyone else is tasting. Whaaaaaaaaaa I think Jensy is just broken.

Thanks Amanda . I thought my taste buds were fine but with these mixes I am starting to think they are not as good as I thought they were. Everyone talks about low percentages so I keep trying . My husband does all the cooking and everything is really spicy so maybe my taste buds are burnt out. I don't ever complain about the spices because god forbid he just might quit cooking and then I would have to. I hate cooking !!!!! Every night I suffer with heartburn but I still do not complain, just in case. :D

Jensy, when I first started messing with DIY not so long ago the flavors were all barely perceptible. I'm finding the more I mix, even at the recommended percentages, I am starting to taste more flavors more clearly. For example when I first tried FA strawberry a couple of months back at 3% I struggled to just barely taste it, yesterday I mixed up a sample of strawberry at 3% again for the first time since I first tried it and it came across very strawberry-y, I even considered lowering the percentage some. It feels like my taste buds are adjusting to the the lower percentages. When I try some of my leftover shop bought liquids now they taste too strong.

I have nowhere near the refined sense of taste that HIC and some others here have but if there is something even slightly offensive to my tastes I can pick that out immediately. Some flavors I can taste clearly, like melon and lemoin Sicily for example, others I don't get much from, like mango and apricot (the accidental combination of the 2 did turn into canned quince for me though...). Irish cream has a fake hershey's chocolate syrup note to me that i can't stand and pineapple has an oniony taste that i also find somewhat offensive. Everyone's tastes differ to some extent so i would just keep messing with stuff until you find what you like and at what percentages. I don't know if you've tried it but following HIC's notes on the individual flavors and mixing individual flavor samples is helpful in finding your prefered percentages and it also helps in recognizing the individual flavors in mixes later on. In general i go by if it tastes yummy or not, trying to pick out hints of this and nuances of that are a little beyond my current abilities.

I do use RDAs primarily with dual coils in the 0.4-0.6 ohm range and find I can taste the flavors much more clearly that way than I can in tanks. My current favorite RDAs are my magma clone (I drilled extra air holes because the draw was a little too restrictive for my liking) and a patriot clone with 3mm air holes. I generally seem to like between 10-20 watts per coil so 20-40 watts for a dual coil setup.

My apologies for the rambling, I hope some of that makes sense.

Oh Dixie I feel your pain. It got to the point that I ordered one of each bottle of Flavor Art because I was always missing 1 or 2 flavors and where I live in Canada (far far north) it can take 3-6 weeks for me to get a package.

No youre not rambling at all Bob. You have really good idea's, thank you. Your going to laugh but I have a brand new Reo mini I have never tried as well as two provaris with Kayfuns that I don't use. Instead I use my little itaste vv with Aspire C5 clearomizers so I am wondering if I used the better equipment if they would bring out the flavors better. LOL I just like how light and easy the itaste is however .......... I'm just a dufuss.

Bob you give me hope that maybe in time I will taste with the lower percentages.

Jensy, I suspect you might get better flavor out of your kayfuns depending on how you build them. That is based on what I've heard about kayfuns only as I have not tried one yet, dying to though, it's just not in my budget since I have to save up for more flavors thanks to this wonderful group of people here in this thread...

The first recipe I recall actually enjoying was HIC's limoncello torrone parfait. The second was the same recipe with 4 drops of melon istead of the 3 drops of lemon Sicily. Since then I've been enjoying apple pie with Catalan cream and then went off on a coconut tangent for a bit. Most recently I have been revisiting single flavors and am tasting more than the first time I tried them. I do keep some of the melon torone parfait around at all times and also a mix of 4% apple pie with 2% Catalan cream cause they are yummy to me.

There, I tried a little harder to ramble that time. Here's to hoping your taste buds get in line and start tasting like they were born to!

Bob & Jensy, I do have to increase some of the flavors. Bob's quite right, too. When I 1st started mixing, everything I made was stronger in % than everyone's. I've been able to drop them down some since then and I've not been at it too awful long.

Jensy I use mostly Kayfuns (I have 5) and RDA's. While they are a bit more to deal with the flavor they produce is so much better. I run my Kayfuns around 1.3 ohms at 13-15 watts depending on Flavor. If you need help with a build let me know.

I follow this pattern as well. I keep going back to my Kayfuns after the juice is made and I like to vape it. I use those inexpensive little Tridents with a simple 1.0 to 1.1 single coil on it to test juices. I keep 4 around and ready. They are so convenient and a quick cotton change, especially when your upping percentages of juice .5 to 1.0 at a time.

I just use very basic hardware with single 1.8 - 2.0 ohm coils, smallest tanks I can find, eGo-type batteries (my favorites are great eGos - probably have a 18650 in here). I don't have the inclination to fiddle with fancy hardware.

@wllmc has posted about dripping versus tanks with FA flavors and recipes. I was surprised he didn't like some of the results when dripping, and had to change percents all over the place. It confirmed my choice to keep my hardware really simple.

No, I didnt get to read it. We need full disclosure o_O

Oh, it was just something like, "I don't use ecf any more. I asked for my account to be closed but figure this will be faster. Many of us from this old thread are on another forum, chatty as always. Find us at v a p i n g u n d e r g r o u n d." Deleted for "evading censors" lol!

I'd go with lime instead, either one. Coconut might be good in there, too. Or a totally different approach could use Madd Fruit instead for the sour.

@jensy, if you have an RM2 for your Reo that will give you the best flavor possible (better than the Kayfun, and easier to build LOL)!

I'm the same keeping it simple. I used clearos forever. Until recently when I discovered a kanger aerotank. have 1 evod v2 and to me only my chai tea mix tastes good in the evod.

I did move up with batteries and have a couple of vamos. Ego batteries were dying too quick for me.

I bought a kayfun. It collected dust brand new in box for 3 months till I traded it.

Because there are a couple new people who might wonder about the percents I use... I'm not a super-taster. I intentionally use the minimum I can, while still getting accurate flavor. Too much PG (it's in the flavoring) makes my tinnitus unbearable. Sometimes I vape more, then I use unflavored for a while to average it out. There are some no-PG flavorings I like very strong, like Red Hot Cinnamon. If FA flavorings didn't use PG, I might vape them stronger, but I'm satisfied with my minimalist approach.

Don't think your taste buds are 'broken' if you need more. Use what suits you! If you want to be happy with less, my best tip is to vape unflavored for a while. It's actually very pleasant. After I use unflavored for a while (sometimes hours, sometimes all day), lower percentages taste stronger.

I just went over there... saw Hic posted yesterday and it got deleted.. lol. They are so childish.
Saw you there too Dixie...... BUMP !!! I me ntioned that i heard crickets in that thread.

So whats on everyones mind today ? Im about to mix up that simple Kiwi and Strawberry at 2% respectively. Cant beleive Ive not tried that before. So simple.

I just found out that I am a FA Bully. Its apparantly the same as a Provari Bully..... LOL I had a couple private messages from "the other forum" and answered them..... mostly like "where did you go" and stuff like that. I dont sign on very often anymore. Will made me think about it yesterday with his shinanagins !

Well, one of the members had asked me that a few weeks ago (" I havent seen you on the TFA recipies forum or the TFA flavoring forum") and I answered them as to why. Wow... one of them really dug into me...... I think I made them mad when I told them I was going to try to sell about 120 TFA flavors and just keep about 5 or so of them. WOW... talk about being true to your flavors...... kinda like a sports fan or a fan of a certain type if car.

Now Im T-ball, the FA Bully......... "Sigh"

So what are we gonna do this weekend ?
Have you ever used TFA Kiwi double? Is it any good? I'm slacking, don't have FA kiwi, yet...

Ok guys/gals, I'm looking for suggestions for something interesting to fit into my stable in the fruity category. Right now my weekly vapes are HICs Limoncello Torrone Parfait, 2% Tuscan Reserve, and my Mums the Word. So I'm not really looking for anything custardy/bakery/nutty/tobacco.

The fruits I have on hand are: Amber, Apple, Apple Pie, Apricot, Bilberry, Black Currant, Kiwi, Lemon Sicily, Mandarin, Papaya, Pineapple, Red Wine, and White Peach.

I don't have any alcohol flavors right now to try some of the drink recipes you guys have posted. Recipes, hints, suggestions, whatever would be appreciated.
Give HICs Sunrise smoothie a try with papaya, pineapple and white peach, pretty darn good!

My flavors never shut up. Good thing the box they're in has a good lid, or they'd keep me awake all night:

Cocoa says, "Try me with Lime." Lime replies, "I'm game if Anise or Cardamom can join us."
Cardamom eyes Bilberry, who whispers to Lemon Sicily, "Come play with me..."
Meanwhile, Whiskey and Brandy bicker about who's manliest as Amber tries to calm them down....
Dark Vapure says "maybe you should put that lime cold pressed into your anise". What a wiseacre, that Dark Vapure.

anyone wondering about FA or low ohms and flavoring send me a PM and I can go into more detail about what I found out that works for me. I found a good handful of fa flavors I like for that style of vaping but unfortunately the answer wasnt always flavor art so Ill keep my comments mostly in private. still on the fence about sharing my best tips and keeping to myself right now and my circle of friends. you all know who you are im still very active on VU just more private messages for the moment. Ill tell you sub ohms FA I did like. vanillas, creams and all the nuts . marzipan is gangster.

I can understand how you long timers are feeling. As a new guy I just wanted to say Hey wllmc thanks for all the good stuff! I learned a ton in a short time from you're recipes and comments and I for one surely appreciate it big time.
thanks man. Im still going to be posting recipes and helping out the DIY people. but just not really trying to help vendors make some awesome juice lol. seems to be a little trend right now going around if you read around other forums.

HIC, did you get a chance to try the mango apricot mix?

Bob, do you have FA Pear (or any other pear flavoring)? If you do, try vaping your mango+apricot as you have it now, and immediately sniff the pear flavoring in the bottle. I wonder if a little pear might belong in there... (by the way, you know TFA has a quince flavor, right?)

I've had no problems with it at the percents I use. Want me to put a drop directly on the inner liner of a (shard of broken) EVOD plastic interior?
cant believe I threw all my old plastic tanks away. the way to test flavors to see if they crack tanks is awesome. I must have had at least 50 or more iclear16 tanks I tossed about 6 months ago.

HIC, sadly i do not have pear... yet... I'll give that sniffing thing a try when I do get it though. I think i can see how pear might add to the quincy mix. Any suggestions for a yummy white/vanilla icecream? Not too vanilla beany, just plain cheap creamy white icecream. I want my mama's canned quince over icecream RIGHT NOW!

I did not know TFA had a quince. I have not looked at too many TFA flavors the only ones I have considered getting are Acetyl Pyrazine, koolada and that brown sugar one.
