Frangipanni? Like the flowers they make Hawaiian lei's from? They certainly smell sweet. Can not imagine the flavor.made one of these for Thanksgiving, a Galette de Roi...it has a frangipanni filling....I wasn't too crazy about the frangipanni filling , so I'm thinking of making it for a Christmas eve party, but using a hazelnut chocolate ,pastry creme filling instead.

If you are not concerned with keeping this paleo, feel free to substitute soy sauce for the coconut aminos. You can also use tamari.

nope ..I spelled it wrong frangipane......ground almonds, butter, sugar, flour, eggs, and rum sometimes mixed with a creme patissiere...Frangipanni? Like the flowers they make Hawaiian lei's from? They certainly smell sweet. Can not imagine the flavor.
I think I spend 8 or 10 bucks worth of Marzipan in each loaf...not too bad....you just put a single roll of it down the center of each loaf....I have to say Stollen is one of my favorite things, and Christmas gives me the excuse to eat it.they had Stollen as one of Da challenges
for the Great British Baking Show Holidays edition.
I would LOVE to make that yet dang
All that marzipan would cost a fortune.
marzipan:
a sweet, yellowish paste of ground almonds, sugar, and egg whites, often colored and used to make small cakes or confections or as an icing for larger cakes
yet I would just love this for the holidays
Oh big diffference. I think you mean marzipan (almond paste). But I can see frangipanni as a flavor.nope ..I spelled it wrong frangipane......ground almonds, butter, sugar, flour, eggs, and rum sometimes mixed with a creme patissiere...
nope, there is a big differnce between frangipane and Marzipan ....here this will explain the difference to you...Oh big diffference. I think you mean marzipan (almond paste). But I can see frangipanni as a flavor.
Yes I see and that is new to me. But I was correct about frangipanni being a flower? I may just be shot out. I remember marzipan figures being made for special occasions, flowers, decorations, etc. IDK maybe it was all a false memory. But I do remember not liking it much. I claim to be a career cook. I think this falls under baking which IMO is a different animal. Much more percise almost like chemistry.nope, there is a big differnce between frangipane and Marzipan ....here this will explain the difference to you...

yes, your right in Europe and especially in like Sicily marzipan is molded into the shape of fruits and flowers as a candy for holidays especially Easter. yeah I prefer cooking myself to baking, but this time of year baking does play a predominate role...besides like I said....Christmas gives me a perfect excuse to stuff my face on Stollen and cookies, which most of the year are verboteen.Yes I see and that is new to me. your in queens??
I went to visit in queens with a friend befor..
it was wonderful good fun... we road da sub way.
I sang and danced on Broadway.. { ya she almost killed me for dat one }
had a carriage ride threw time square with a horse named Peaches
saw da empire state building..
n I LOVED NY city library..
and da food.. any time and every corner ya turn its almost like ya entered a
differnt ethic community of culture and food.
just a wonderful good time.
the library is HUGE and beautifulI remember riding in the elevator up to the observation deck on the Empire State building. The woman I was traveling with at the time was young, blonde, and apparently quite attractive to the load of drunk German businessmen who were in the elevator with us. They weren't a bit shy about it! A little awkward for her, funny as hell for me! I teased her about that for a good while afterwards, and of course I had to rat her out to the people in the office back home. She was good-natured and took it well.
I was so glad we went at night - the view from the deck, out over the city with the lights and the river, it was overwhelming. I have a problem with heights and get vertigo easily, but in the dark evening, that didn't happen.
Also had my one and only experience with a NYC cab driver. Ours appeared to be from an African country, and his command of English was really sketchy. He also drove like hell on wheels, up over curbs, right up on the ass end of cars in front of us. Typical, from what I hear.
Wish I'd had the chance to go into the library. That sounds awesome.
BUT diden't you dance and sing on BROADWAY TO??
you are right about da cab drivers that's why we stuck to subways
trip from the airport was enough to tell us YIKES!
lets go back we can stay with @RhianneUnfortunately, no. I was only in town for four days of training, so had very little time to do anything but work! You had a better trip than me!
lets go back we can stay with @Rhianne
i never got to see ellis island or da stature of liberty cuz of the weather..
and i always wanted to see where my Grandma landed age 16 alone
when she came to america
your fine i never said..I'm not going back, no no no! Breakfast for two costs $75 in Queens now! I can buy breakfast for two for a WEEK for $75.
That's cool about your grandma. What country did she come from? I think you said already, my memory has holes in it these days.
your fine i never said..
she came from Germany before the start of ww2
she could not abide with what was becoming common place.
as well Only da male's of da family could inherit land,, she wanted her OWN land.
so she came started as a scrub woman then cook. learned english, moved to the midwest
BOUGHT HER OWN farm.. got married he died, she had a mild stroke. dads sister had er
hospilized and sign a paper giving up her farm to them {{ she could not read english}}
and kept her locked up in a nursing home
for the next 17 years and da *&^*&%^%^%$ sis of dads never even went to visit.
and my grandma never said one unkind word about it..
ya she was a spit fire.Bunny, we could probably solve a lot of problems if we could figure out why family members treat each other this way. That is a terrible shame for your grandmother and your family.
Sounds like she was a go-getter, though! She knew what she wanted and made it happen! Not so easy to do in those days. I'm sure the overwhelming majority of her family was proud and thankful for her.

That looks good. I make a soup that looks very similar to yours, with stewed chicken, baby carrots, onions, egg noodles, Italian seasoning, parsley, plenty of black pepper, and chicken stock base. It's one of my husband's favorite things I make - the man loves noodles and pasta.
I also make a variation of it with ground pork, cubed potatoes, baby carrots, onions, beef stock base, and the same seasonings plus a dash or two of soy sauce.
I love making soup.

am still working on my enchilada sauce to...Almost 3am here and I am still working on my first ever attempt at chicken enchiladas. It's not really a hard recipe, but has several steps and I've been anxious to get it right.
As I was complaining to Bunny earlier, I find most enchiladas I've eaten in restaurants (outside of California or PR) to be disappointing: dry and under-seasoned chicken on the inside with a canned or otherwise not-too-appetizing sauce and way too much cheese, apparently as compensation.
If this comes out well, I'm hoping to get a picture of it to share.... I'm so excited. omg, I skipped supper and I'm desperately hungry!
Here's hoping these enchiladas will be the up-side of insomnia.
