The highest ranking Catholic official to be convicted of covering up sex abuse has been spared prison and sentenced to six months' home detention in Australia, due to his ailing health and age.

The Archbishop of Adelaide Philip Wilson was found guilty in May of concealing the abuse of altar boys in the 1970s by pedophile priest James Fletcher.
Wilson, 67, who stepped aside from his role after his conviction but has not yet resigned, had been facing a maximum penalty of two years in prison.

Why would an archbishop need to be tried anyway?
Would they just not do the proper thing and confess of their sins and tell the truth?

by bringing manufacturing jobs back where there were none before ? That helps the wealthy ? Not families?

That makes no sense how can you bring something back that was not there before?

The only way the USA can compete with the low wage overseas manufacturing is to lower our standard of living.
A LOT.

Or we can just tariff the low cost imports out of the USA and pay a LOT more for the same thing made here. Pretty much the same end result.
Of course with the tariff route our exports pretty much get tariffed out of existence. So that kills a lot of US jobs.
And I will not even get into the economic impact on the USA in the global world of the Tariff route. Considering US debt bonds and such...

Trump does not know his anal orifice from an excavation.

So you support a 'living wage' for jobs?
Taxes to fix infrastructure?

So many work at minimum wage or low wage jobs and do not even get 40 hours a week and are offered health insurance if they pay 1/4-1/3 of their salary for it. And it is sucky insurance that many participants cannot even afford the deductibles for using it.

There are not enough decent paying jobs with benefits to go around for everyone and never has been and never will be.
really never has been ?
As your a person who has lived ,you know better then any life isn't fair ,nobody said it would be . I worked for min wage but I worked my way out of it . bringing opportunities back is a start , or would you prefer people sit in their own tears and give up .

And India is even lower.

China is not our only competitor.
Then there is Mexico where many of our autos, appliances, auto parts , etc are made.
and the new rising cheap labor source, Africa.

Yep move those jobs back and even more unemployed Mexicans come here :)

Globalization is not reversible without MAJOR pain which we are not willing to endure.

Like the National debt is not reversible without inducing some pain, Globalization will fail and be reversed whether people are willing to endure it or not.

Reversing it now will hurt less. ;)

Doesn't matter, the USA on an individual or corporate level does not have the balls to do it now or later.

Make it while they can, kind of like vape sellers in the USA whose demise is supposed to happen in a few years.

the USA is extremely myopic of vision on all levels.

I am still waiting for Iraq's oil to pay for our war there.
LMAO
Lots of fools even believed that bull crap.

Our exports are already tariffed and were before Trump became President.

Trump didn't start the Trade war, he just finally began to participate(fight back). ;)

We also tariffed imports before Trump became president.

the coming recession will make the last one look like an adjustment.

But still won't be as bad as the one China and Europe will suffer. And they know it. That's why they are squealing so loud.

They'll cave. Or, they'll pay a much heavier price. So be it. ;)

China is rapidly expanding their markets to other countrys besides the USA.
How much would be for sale in the USA without Chinese imports?
Heck we even get loads of ingredients for prescription medicines from China.

President Trump has made a habit of talking tough about making changes that would hurt pharmaceutical companies and drive drug costs down. Thanks to his new China tariffs, pharmaceutical companies will feel the pinch, but so will patients.

The latest escalation by the White House in the growing trade war with China will place a 25% tariff on raw drug ingredients, insulin, epinephrine and vaccines. The Food and Drug Administration estimates that 80% of the ingredients needed to formulate drugs consumed by patients in the United States are imported from China as well as India.

The tariffs also cover MRI machines, artificial joint, pacemakers, sterile surgical catgut and suture materials used for surgeries as well as syringes and other medical devices. The complete list generated by the White House is 40 pages long and covers steel, aluminum and a wide array of products.

Who is going to pull your weeds and mow your lawn? Who is going to pick the fruits and vegetables you get? Who is going to slaughter the steer so you can have brisket and burgers?
Those are all jobs immigrants are usually hired for.

Trump could not negotiate a map. He caves in with foreign leaders, and takes their word that they will keep their word. It kind of reminds me of the Native Americans that believed the white man before they got slaughtered and relocated. He is gullible and naive. And we are the ones that will get slaughtered and relocated.

The reason it's humorous is because there are still some people who think cnn is news.

So you are saying that the Honduran first lady did not say that?
Or could you just not think of any intelligent response to it so you went down the cry fake news road?

The Commerce Department is considering tariffs on cars assembled at foreign plants and on foreign-made auto parts. Every car assembled in the United States contains a significant percentage of foreign parts, according to government data.

"There are no purely American vehicles," said Michelle Krebs, senior analyst at AutoTrader. "These are global automakers who use global sources for all types of parts."

Automakers are already warning that tariffs would raise their costs, in some cases by thousands of dollars per car. General Motors said last week that it could be forced to cut jobs.

The small farmer myth...

Late last year, the USDA released a report with some household income data — the first I’ve seen. The report doesn’t include all farm bill dollars, but for most of the programs it does include, about half the money went to farmers with household incomes over $150,000. That means billions of dollars, every year, go to households with income nearly three times higher than the median U.S. household income, which was $55,775 that year.

The h-2a visa was created for crop owners/politicians that refused to pay American wages for agricultural labor! There’s provisions that needs to be followed!

Now, if politicians/crop owners don’t want to follow the provisions by hiring illegals, the least they could do is treat illegal migrant workers humanely! First of all, they shouldn’t be allowed to hire illegals PERIOD!

If you come here illegally you must be deported immediately or as soon as the circumstances allows the department that handles it...
Same goes to the people that hire illegals, they should be prosecuted and deported to their homelands!

Politicians/landowners aren’t above the law!

Since this dude is trending on Twitter......
Let’s read his biography...

Jim Jordan was raised in Champaign County, Ohio, graduating from Graham High School in 1982, where he was a four-time state champion in wrestling with a career record of 150-1. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a two-time NCAA wrestling champion. He later earned a Master’s degree in Education from the Ohio State University and a Law Degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

Jordan is a fiscal conservative who believes that families and taxpayers, rather than government, know best how to make decisions with their money. Throughout his career, Jim Jordan has led the fight against tax hikes, including those proposed by his own political party. He believes that cutting taxes and letting families keep more of what they earn helps build strong communities and a vibrant economy.

In Congress, Jordan has also emerged as a prominent defender of the taxpayer’s pocketbook through his work on spending issues. In 2009, he introduced the only balanced budget alternative to President Obama's budget. In the 112th Congress, Jordan served as Chairman of the House Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus of conservatives, advancing conservative ideas and solutions on Capitol Hill. In the 114th Congress, Jordan helped found the House Freedom Caucus, and served as its first Chairman.

Jordan has been an advocate of the taxpayer, looking for waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government. He serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits, and Administrative Rules.

As one of the most conservative members of Congress, his efforts have earned him recognition from Citizens against Government Waste, Family Research Council, Americans for Tax Reform’s Friend of the Taxpayer Award and the 2012 Weyrich Award for “National Legislator of the Year.”

Yep.
Or if this is the lawbreakers homeland, prison and very large fines.
And if it was a corporation and those running the corporation knew that illegals were being hired all licences and such cancelled for that business and large corporate fines as well.

Yet another thing to thank a progressive for... NAFTA.

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
Yep thank Reagan and Bush I for it.

The impetus for a North American free trade zone began with U.S. President Ronald Reagan, who made the idea part of his campaign when he announced his candidacy for the presidency in November 1979.[15] Canada and the United States signed the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in 1988, and shortly afterward Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari decided to approach US president George H.W. Bush to propose a similar agreement in an effort to bring in foreign investment following the Latin American debt crisis.

The earlier Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement had been controversial and divisive in Canada, and featured as an issue in the 1988 Canadian election. In that election, more Canadians voted for anti-free trade parties (the Liberals and the New Democrats) but the split of the votes between the two parties meant that the pro-free trade Progressive Conservatives (PCs) came out of the election with the most seats and so took power. Mulroney and the PCs had a parliamentary majority easily passed the 1987 Canada-U.S. FTA and NAFTA bills. However, Mulroney was replaced as Conservative leader and prime minister by Kim Campbell. Campbell led the PC party into the 1993 election where they were decimated by the Liberal Party under Jean Chrétien, who campaigned on a promise to renegotiate or abrogate NAFTA. Chrétien subsequently negotiated two supplemental agreements with Bush, who had subverted the LAC[18]advisory process[19] and worked to "fast track" the signing prior to the end of his term, ran out of time and had to pass the required ratification and signing of the implementation law to incoming president Bill Clinton.[20]

Yeah I know BUSH and his NAFTA deal... was the deal Reagan made with the GOP to get the nomination. I never said Reagan was perfect.. but he didn't do NAFTA Bill and Newt did. I said NAFTA was a PROGRESSIVE deal by progressives. That is true.
