So I wanted to post his cuz it irritates me. Today I came into work. Hit my crown on ipv3li box. Guy fellow vape enthusiast was like damn what kind of tank is that and man that smells good. Then ask me if he can hold it. Sure, then ask me to hit it. Hell no. This is same guy who last month. Ask to check out my super tank mini that I had with me. Never heard of the mini and liked it. Same thing ask to hold then hit it without asking. I was pissed had to wait to get home to soak it in alcohol. Then says oh u can hit mine if u want. No thanks. I don't know u. I'm not putting my mouth on ur drip tip.

Haha, yeah, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. If it's not someone I would be comfortable sharing a drink with (which is most people,) then it's not happening unless they have their own compatible drip tip.

Who wants to be part of the Pen15 club??
Bawww, you gave the joke away. Gotta spell it out "fifteen" or its too obvious.

This kind if thing pisses me off to no end! when Someone asks to see my mod, I take the driptip off. Then when the go to hit it without a tip, I just say "really? You're not deep throating my mod, unless you buy me a drink first."
Had a coworker that I converted who kept trying to do that shit, after I puffs him a starter setup, finally we had to have a vaping etiquette educational moment.

The kid is a vapor. I assumed he was gunna just hold it and admire lol then. Before I knew he was hitting my ish. I'm like wtf He says oh u can try mine out. I said no thanks. It aggravates me. So today when he asked I said hell no. So I would assume he knows proper vape protocol. Don't take a hit off someone's shit expecially if u don't know them.

Amazingly I think the younger crowd, that got into it for tue fad factor ONLY, see it as a sign of respect to comingle bodily fluids with fellow vapers.

That's the only explanation that makes sense to me

No visible open cold sore no sharing of the vape! This all comes from the people who think because you didn't touch it means you don't have to wash your hands. Also the "it" is a penis.

I also pull the drip tip before handing my mod off...if you've got your own tip go ahead and taste my liquid, but if someone actually started sucking on my tank rawdog and all I'd probably lose my shit.

Well I'm little different actually from all you guys, as I like to promote the positive vaping vs smoking. I have people down at the casino for instance that ask me to hit my mod to try vaping for the first time. Knowing that in advance I carry a few drip tip silicon sleeves (condums) with me. Its the same protective sleeves that my local vape shop use when customers want to try out a tank on display. No big deal to let a potential vaper take a few hits to check what vaping is really all about...

LOL Do you have that same mentality towards your gf??

I bought a dozen of these kits to give out for new vapers and carry them in my motorcycle...I even bought vertical OCC coils for better performance out of them as well....depending on how full my tank is at the time, they might even get whatever bottle of juice Im carrying at the time as well...

Lol..if your asking me about my GF I've been married 30 yrs....
And tootle puffing a pen is not the same as vaping a good mod and tank..I mean people see me blowin clouds and want to maybe check it out...Handing them a pen would be a poor introduction to vaping in my opinion... They're junk!
Just sayin

Would never let a stranger just slobber all over my vape, but also never had a stranger ask!

At my work, its common to see a vape being passed round 5 peeps to try the flavour or MOD or clouds etc.

I used to keep a few Dt condoms in my bag, but around here there are so many shops, i'll answer questions and talk about it, and if they are new. I send them to one of the shops I trust. if they want to try it that bad, they should go to a shop regardless imho. Maybe they will buy something and give it an honest go rather than letting them get what could be an experience not suited to them from my vape style or flavor preference.
-something out of experience

For what it worth, people are plenty happy with a free pen. Especially since 99.999999% of people here started with this similar setup, it is just something to get their toes wet without slobbering on my pen. BLOWING clouds is for idiots btw, im a vaper not a poser trying to look cool. I wont let people be that stupid around me, and I educate them about the difference of the two. But hey, you keep letting strangers suck on your stuff. Thats cool too :)

Letting some people try vaping my set-up with the protective sleeve is good, all good..
By the way, I didn't start with a pen. I started with a low powered Provari and protank (not much better than a pen I suppose)...but it did get off analogs 3 yrs ago.. nobody in my family or friends started with a pen either, but its all good dude..all good,

that's one of the great things about vaping a genny most vapers don't want to hit it.(no big clouds bra)....but I have some used gum I'm more than willing to let them have.
I find it in poor taste to even ask someone to hit their mod....if they offer it's one thing but to ask puts them in an akward position.

I have let friends hit my subohm tank and two second later they explode in vapor and it does nothing to help them learn about this. Pressing buttons before they inhale and keeping it held while they chat with me is no fun. Truth be told, most people just want to know if there is herb in it..

I expect a lot of people dont carry around extra pens with them with the sole intention of giving them away. When I wear my kilt, I can carry a ton of stuff, but one of these setups stays in the trunk of my bike in a ziplock. To this day I have yet to see someone say "nah, i want something better". I know many people spend 30-50 bucks for a simple setup that they hate, get their toes wet, thats all Im trying to help with.

Sure you cant compare this to whatever you started with, but everyone ELSE in the world has to start somewhere. Im not going to list off all the one i started with and have now because thats not conducive to this thread. @VaporJoes turned me on to this tank and coil a while ago, wonder what he has to say :)

I purchase special adjustable voltage batteries (3 clicks) with a micro USB pass through on the bottom so that any one can use it and anyone can charge it

Yes it IS all good! Lots of happy people so far.

looks silly...especially without a sporan.

LOL always gotta be a hater some where, jealousy is a stinky cologne dude, dont be mad at someone having fun. You should try it sometime...

I have 9 kilts, most need a sporran but this one doesn't. Here is me at a NOAA meeting with the same kilt...that day I stood in front of the whole panel they could shove their false science where the sun doesnt shine. Their plan to make ALL sandbars a no anchor zone was kaboshed. They were trying to take away the sand bars for people to hang out in the florida keys. That was a good day.

Someone not sharing your tastes is not being a hater, nor is it jealousy ...oh and by the way as a young child I did wear a kilt....nobody is mad at you or is in anyway attempting to curb your enthusiasim for whatever perdiliction you have.....to elevate diffrences of taste to the level of "hate" is even more silly than the kilt.....now if you had been wearing an Armani suit then I'd have been jealous.

Or you could bit the bullet and let them take a whole bunch of hits from your personal drip tip.

Then mention in passing that you are expecting your HIV results in the mail anyday now:eek:

So, my first post (thanks to everyone for all the info). I found this topic interesting. Personally I never concern myself with it. That may be because I'm anything but a germaphobe, but I can't help but think it has a bit of a cultural influence. Personally I started Vaping because it curbed my cravings for... well another substance. Most people here seem to be coming off cigarettes, which are rarely shared and when they are it's with a close friend or a loved one. Well as someone who used it to get off smoking [that other substance], I'm used to sharing. It is typical to pass a [device used to use that other substance] around without a second thought to germs. Some may wipe and burn the mouthpiece to kill things but in general that's a hassle and most don't bother. So basically this topic made me wonder if that's a big contributing factor to my difference of opinion.

Pretty much any time I'm out with friends I'll have a handful of people want to take a hit, and I never give it a second thought (we all know it smells delicious). Funny thing is even smokers will find vaping harsh. It takes a few puffs to get used to it. I always turn it down for them and it's always still too much. I'd be interested to know why if anyone knows? (we're talking people who smoke a pack a day still giving that "omg my throat is dying" look).

Anyways thought it was worth a post. Personally I've never had anyone "slobber" all over my drip tip, the people who hit it know to just use the tips of their lips (relatively dry), and I've never had any more issue than I had with a piece being passed around.

I will say, I get sick twice a year like clockwork during event seasons (30-40 hour weekend every week over the course of a month or two, handling tons of cash, dealing with ~100k customers, it's gonna happen even if I bath in Purell). But, it's a couple days of inconvenience, go to the doctor grab some antibiotics and I'm feeling fine for the next weekend of madness.

And, since it's my first post, I have to say I'm super jealous of "Whiskey"'s username, and I'm curious what type? Rye Whiskey all the way here!

I think that mostly just has to do with the sheer volume of vapor you get compared to smoke. We, as vapers, have learned to relax our throats and take direct lung-hits, while smokers are accustomed to tightening up on the inhale. When you try to do that with a lung-hit setup, your throat is going to lock up from the surge of irritation.

I will say, I get sick twice a year like clockwork during event seasons (30-40 hour weekend every week over the course of a month or two, handling tons of cash, dealing with ~100k customers, it's gonna happen even if I bath in Purell). Haha, it's funny you mention that. I work in a small retail store, so I spend a lot of time in confined, dirty places with lots of traffic from all sorts of people and especially their gross little kids. I usually close up the store, so I touch everything on the shelves at some point in the week. As a manager, I handle more money than anyone else in the store each night, and that's not including times when I jump on register to curb lines. I also have even worse sleep habits than my subordinates do because of the scheduling demands and long hours that come with working on a small management team in a very busy store.

And yet, over these past few years of vaping, I've avoided every wave of sickness that's come along.

Just recently, literally everyone working there caught this terrible stomach virus but me, one after the other. Then, the flu came around and everyone on my shifts had it bad. The office where I count down cashiers' drawers is tiny and stagnant, so when I count down a sick person's drawer with them, I'm not just touching the contaminated money, I'm inhaling the air that they're contaminating by being in the room with me.

I'm starting to think it's vaping that's helping to keep me from catching airborne illnesses. I'm frequently in close contact with people who are sick, but I never catch whatever they've got. It's either that, or smoking just made me more susceptible. I used to get sick at least once during every busy season when I smoked. Who knows? Maybe over the years, I've just gotten too stupid to catch even a simple cold.

All that aside, with vape sharing, it's the principle that bugs me.

Interesting thought on the amount into the lungs. That very well may be the reason. Like I said I'm very curious because we're also talking people who take big rips off a [water pipe], which is pretty similar. I feel that Vaping drys my throat/lungs more than normal smoke which more just burns than has a drying element. Anyways was an aside question that has had me curious for a while. After a half dozen-dozen rips the hesitance is gone, but those first few I always see the same thing, and I experienced it myself (and still do when I try to mess around with wattage).

Anyways, I'm much the same in that stomach flu's and general illnesses kind of roll right past me. The events I do are about 2-2.5 days but 15-20 hour days dealing with a crazy amount of customers and usually outdoors often on dirt so that doesn't help (yay sneezing up dirt...) and rain is always fun. I've just accepted a twice a year illness and as soon as I feel it I go in and grab some antibiotics and good cough syrup to get through it. Cash is gross, the most disgusting thing you can find, it's beautiful but dangerous.

I will add, that I don't have anything against wanting to keep things to yourself, the topic just made me curious. As I said I came from a smoking culture where sharing was the norm, while I think most came from a culture where that's kind of weird (rather give them their own cigarette than share yours), so it just made me wonder.

Thanks to the wonderful flavors we have I've even had non smokers/non vapers ask me to try it because it just smells great, always following with that "omg how do you breath this in?" look. I even have friends that tell me "yeah just do that inside, it smells great" as I always treat it as if I were smoking and step outside out of politeness. I found it funny when I saw one of the websites I ordered something off of call it "aromatherapy".

Mod Edit: site policy is to avoid reference to "dry herbs" and the devices associated with them by their common names. It's a search engine thing, and not how we want to get found...
