Having issues with Rx200 overheating with my new tfv4

Hi all new here...
Anyhow I'm about at my wits end. I recently just got my new Smok TFv4 in to pair with my Wismec rx200 I have had couple weeks now, and been having issues with both battery life and the mod getting too hot too quickly. First off I have tried the clapton 0.3, the triple, quad, and even the TC Ni .15 coil. I cant go like above 60+ watts because it literally scorches my throat cuz of so much heat/vapor being produced. I am hearing people saying that the sweet spot on say like the T3 coil is 70-80W.,and on T4 110-120W.... but just chain vaping between 50-60W on any of these coils, after like 4-5 five to seven second draws, the mod starts blinking "device to hot", and is very warm in my hand. Before I was using the kanger mini sub-ohm tank vaping between 0.2-0.5 coil on the rx200 and dont remember getting the "device too hot" message so frequently if at all. Is this mod defective or what it should be able to handle 8-10 long hits before getting that message. I've read that message means the CPU chip is overheating over 70C, which also worries me Also I'm using 3 LG chocolate Hg batteries all bought together and charge on a quad Nitrocore bay external charger..i heard charging via USB was unbalanced and cause voltage variances in the batteries. I'm thinking I may have bought a faulty rx200 cuz I've been hearing nothing but stellar reviews about it, and no overheating issues, with people vaping ALOT higher than I have been. Maybe I should of spent extra money on the DNA chip version...please any advice welcome tired of spending more money...

Something is wrong for sure. Double check it's not user error (everything properly in place, didn't do something silly like put a batter in the wrong way, not sure if it'd sense that mistake or not).

You absolutely should not get any heat in your mod. I run my TFV4 on my Sig150 and XCube at 110w+ (max the things out) and I have no issues with mod heating just tank heating up after a bit.

So yeah, you either have a problem inside the mod or you screwed something up

I'm suspecting it's your batteries. The Sony VCT4 would be the better option, in order to make use of the full 200W range. The Sony VCT5 might suffice for up to 120W.

Ideally yes always VCT4s for higher power, but shouldn't be an issue.
1) you're capable of doing it with the 20amp cells he has (sound like the HG2's to me).
2) he's encountering issues at 60w!

There's something wrong here beyond the batteries themselves unless he got ripped off with some crappy counterfeit things.

Damn...I figured a 200w mod that powerful shouldn't be heating up to touch that fast...I bought it from a reputable local cape shop. They claim all products 100% authenticity. I already bought another 3 brand new LG Hg2's because I suspected the original 3 had gotten off voltage too much charging via the USB CHARGER too frequently. But with the new batteries I've been exclusively charging through external charger and the mod is still giving me the device to hot message after hitting it 4-5 times just at 45-60 watts! Indeed this must be a faulty mod...sigh...there's goes $65 down the drain. Oh also after full charged...I barely get a full day before all 3 batteries are low...I thought the LG hg2s were top quality at 3000 maH?

I use those LGs all the time in dual battery boxes at around 75 watts. Sounds like you need to return it, or get it fixed under the manufacturer warranty!

Take it back to that vape shop and explain the situation, someone there may know some troubleshooting options or they should be able to direct you to a warranty if they won't simply return it/trade it out.

Sorry to hear that...I would think it's the mod as I have two RX mods and two TFV4 tanks with the triple coils that run good all day long at 75-80w, even chain vaping..batts go for a couple days, with no issues at all

Chain vaping 7 second pulls sounds hot to me.

I don't know that device or that tank. LG HG2 should have good battery life, HB4 are also tootsie-roll color and only 1500 mAh, so I'd just double-check that you have HG2
