that mech mod is not a mech mod
a mech mod is basically a tube or box with no digital parts
just a battery connection and some sort of switch
that is an aspire is the aspire cf subohm battery
http://www.aspirecig.com/products/MOD/mod185.html
its the same thing as an ego
EXCEPT it is designed to use most subohm tanks
Now with that being said
it may not give the best experience on a subohm tank across the full discharge of its internal battery
meaning it will work better at full charge then 25% charge
but i am not sure how that one fires the power
it may stay the same through its entire discharge
You are fine to use any tank or rda that has a coil between .3 and 1 ohm on that battery
You buddy is using incorrect terms and may not know all he or you think he does.
check around this forum
lots and lots of knowledgable people to help you out
if you want to yes that RDa on top
you need to get some kanthal a1 wire in a good gauge like 24 or 26 or 28
learn to build coils
get some cotton
learn what exactly the name of that rda is
and search youtube for wicking it properly so it doesnt flood or give dry hits
lots of youtube videos onhow to build coils
But since that battery doesnt have an ohm reader display
you will need an ohm reader to know what ohms you rda coils are at
SO heres my advice
put that rda in the drawer for a few weeks to months
get yourself a kanger subtank or similar
make sure it has coils in teh .3-1 ohm range
most do have either .3 or .5
the other most common ohms on subohm tanks are 1.2,1.5 and .25
all of which will not work on that battery
do some research here and on youtube on whatever tank you get so you know all about it.
now do not get tanks such as the crown,tfv4,maganus,starre.
Those bad boys may fire on that battery, but that battery is never going to have enough power to really get the best performance out of the aforementioned tanks
stick to a kanger.nautalis etc.
Do not try to do temperature control, that battery can not do it. SO stay away form Ni200(Nickel) coils or Ti(titanium coils) Stainless steel coils are fine.
once you get the hang of using a subohm tank
you will want to replace that battery with something that has variable wattage so you can adjust that and fine tune your vape on a subtank.
once you are really comfortable and want to try building your own coils (if you ever do)
then you have lots of research to do
and you have that rda in the drawer to experiment on.
