Okay, one with Nonna's Cake, since 3 people who already have it twisted my arm! :D <---(enjoys having arm twisted)
This is my all-FA, no-diketone answer to all other brands' vanilla cake flavors.

New today at HIC's Mixes : Frosted Vanilla Cupcake
View attachment 42538
"Classic vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting. All flavorings used are diketone-free, and this sweet vanilla cake will not clog your coils. A 2-3 day steep time is recommended. Includes a variation for Buttermint Cupcakes. This recipe uses only FlavourArt flavorings, including their new Nonna's Cake flavor - currently sold only through FA in Italy and the UK, estimated to arrive to American vendors later in March."
I've been vaping this for a few days, and it's absolutely as described! I find the flavors need a few days (3 or so) to blend nicely, and it is very light. I think I increased the percentage on the last bottle from 8% to 9%, and it's great in my griffin!

Hello Hic and fellow vapesters. I am new to vaping, diy and VU and overjoyed to see such a strong and helpful community of fellow vapers. I recently met someone who came from the Philippines and was vaping Halo Halo from Iclouds. I love the drink and i think this flavor can be an awesome summer adv. I cant find this flavor in the US or anywhere that would ship to the USA.
I am asking if HIC or anyone in the community to help make this most delicious concoction. (does not need to be an exact clone) The guy gave me what was left of his 50ml bottle ( maybe 5ml left).
Hic from your recipes I can see you have a love for exotic interesting flavors and I am willing to send over the 5ml to you for a flavor match and even pay you to help make a recipe.
Here is a link to what is Halo Halo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo-halo

Also this is my first post so i do apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong place or something else
Thanks in advance

lol reasonable question. we live only a few hours away from each other but we met on ECF. We have similar styles and taste buds so once we hooked up it was over ha. After that @HeadInClouds became really good friends and exchanged ideas and recipes. We both have a serious flavor and mixing addiction that adds fuel to the fire. I know HIC keeps me pushing to mix better everyday.
I followed the links to your shop and, all I see is 4 different e juices am I at the right place? I see other people talking ordering from you and I am not seeing anything to order except those 4 things,I have seen posts about sample bottles, different flavors where are they ?

They're no longer selling straight flavorings from FA, TFA etc!

Switching the conversation a bit, have y'all had so many of HIC's recipes that you can't get to them all? I mixed first 5 and started going to 20 Ml instead of my usual 30. Went through tiramisu phase, fruit cereal phase, macaroon phase, Swiss bliss, scones and cappuccino. Just got nonna in mail so of course I'm getting ready to mix cupcakes. Through it all I've stuck with golden cappuccino. I wanna try the mango sticky rice. Having hard time finding sweet woodruff. Haven't heard much about this one. Anyone else tried? Thanx HIC for the great recipes! $3 is not much for what ya get

NO! A thousand times NO!

I started DIY with WL nic - everyone used it back then. Then I tried a couple others and realized there was a bit of difference between them - but nothing huge. Then Vapers Tek came along and blew me away. Everything tasted better, and some stuff *remarkably* better. I won't and couldn't use anything but VT now. This is what I buy for myself: http://www.vaperstek.org/1000-ml-1/ (also available in 120ml). My partner vapes mostly unflavored and insists on only their premium nic: http://www.vaperstek.org/1000-ml/.

I've been raving about VT for a long time, but my best description is that it doesn't screw up your flavors. If you're happy with some other nic now, get a sample of VT to try a few favorite recipes for comparison. To find out how your nic affects flavors, make a little batch of your favorite recipe with no nic - if it tastes drastically better than with nic, well... time for a DIY upgrade.

(I do get some TFA and Lorann flavors at WL that aren't available at the other places I shop; that's about it.)

I absolutely agree with HIC about NOT using WL nic. WL was my first nic too, then Nude Nic had a sale and I tried it. The difference was significant, WL had a harsh bite to it while NN was much smoother and had no aftertaste. I have a bunch of it in my freezer. Then I saw the reviews on VT and HIC's recommendation. I decided to try it and somehow it is even smoother and completely flavorless, just disappearing into the background and letting the flavors pop.

I haven't tried other sources (MFS etc) and many seem happy with their nic. I'm going to stay with VT going forward... unless HIC finds something better LOL.

Hi HIC
I have made the Toucan recipe about a week ago and I am having the same problem as an earlier poster, It tastes very limey, kind of like a sprite soda. I didn't see your followup reply. I am wondering if there is anything I should do.
This is one of my favorite flavors since I started vaping and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

You create some of the finest e-liquids on the planet. I picture the Bunsen burners at various levels, beakers & test tubes bubbling, and flavoring bottles flying left & right. Your fans are clamoring for your next masterpiece. You're mixing up a storm front over the Rockies and what I find most ironic is, "My partner vapes mostly unflavored..." :)

Toucan recipe ... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

I'll list 'em all here. Shake everything before measuring (esp Orange); be sure it's the right FA lime (see paragraph 3 in the recipe); know that higher power will emphasize sharp citrus flavors; FA's lime flavors fade with time; you can reduce the amount of any flavoring you want less of; some like more/less total flavoring for various hardware and the link in paragraph 1 is the easiest way to experiment with that. And of course you can always PM or email me.

Hi all, I've been lurking around on these diy forums for some time, but now I just had to make a post. Ive been vaping for about 1 1/2 years, and doing diy for about 1 year, bought a lot of flavours, but all that Ive tried mixing (including some recipes from e-liquid-recipes.com/) taste just ok... Ive never mixed a recipe twice until I bought your Hazelnut Caramel Coffee recipe, its my all day vape now, and its made all the money spent buying flavours totally worth it, Thank you for creating such a delicious recipe :)

I had posted about the lime last month. It took about 10 days, maybe 2 weeks to mellow. I didn't think it would but it turned out to be a great vape. Give it time........

I'm super surprised at steeping. I've only diy juices since January. It's hard for me to let steep because I kinda need to vape it now. i actually thought the recipe for Toucan wasn't any good. Put it on a back shelf, was gonna throw out but thought I'd give it one last try. Glad I did. Stuff was great. Tonight I had to travel 180 miles up the road and found an old bottle of Bristish Cremes I had made in January. Wow! Creamy, super smooth............totally different. Amazing to me.

Once you get TFA Sweet Woodruff you've just gotta try Hic's Thai Mango Sticky Rice! It's awesome! I also find myself rotating all my juice (only from Hic's is what I make & vape)!

I do fairly well with Essential Depot. But I also did well with the bottles I got at the grocery store and Walmart. To my taste buds, vg is vg.

To my taste buds, vg is vg.

I've vaped VG from lots of places, probably not as many as you, and it all tastes the same to me, too. Sometimes I've noticed thicker or thinner texture, but not drastically.

VG can come from many different plant sources, depending on season (or even from non-plant sources), and apparently I'm allergic/sensitive to one of them. I have no other allergies, but most VG makes me break out in itchy hives. I tried many sellers, found a couple that seemed fine for a while, then the next batch I bought gave me hives again.

My solution was rtsvapes. Their VG is sourced from coconuts, and I've never had any reaction from it, so that's all I use now - by the gallon, for about a year now. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other sellers with VG that would be fine for me, but I *know* this one is. I don't recommend any VG over any other, because I know few have this reaction to it. Just wanted to mention that; I hear from an occasional vaper in the same boat now and then.

I really like rts vapes, but wasn't sure that was the best option. Looks like I'm sticking with my choice.

I haven't used nic for almost a year now (I still have 5 glass jars in my freezer :-( )....... I was getting pretty bad headaches with just 3mg, so I cut it out completely and haven't gone back. But, I don't see quitting vaping anytime soon.

DebbieJ - Thanks for your input on the Toucan. I'll give it some more time then try.
Also I have a hot plate stirrer and I notice that when I mix and steep this way I quickly knock out that alcohol smell, but I was wondering some of your thoughts on hot plate mixing and steeping.
Do you think this method takes any flavor away prematurely? kinda like the lemon/lime flavors that tend to fade on their own anyway.

Popping in again, I do come and read quite often but have been so busy in real life that I just haven't had a lot of time to chat.

I finally got around to making another flavoring order from RTS Vapes but alas they didn't have one I need and I really hate to make an order for just one flavor. Is there any comparable substitute for Fresh Cream or Cream Fresh?

I also saw someone mention someone getting Sweet Woodruff, last I read it had been discontinued except in extremely large sizes, has that changed?
One of my ADV is Vanilla Silk Pudding and while I am OK on sweet woodruff for a little while yet it would be nice to hear that I would be able to get more when I need it.
Oh and I finally got around to ordering the Old Fashioned Doughnut, looking forward to trying that one. :)

Oh that's good news, I scrolled through the messages but apparently missed that one. :)

I also forgot to mention that a while back I tried the Blueberry Muffin but couldn't get any Torrone at that time, I really didn't care for it with the almond substitute but tried it again with the Torrone after I was able to get some and it made a huge difference, it is my second favorite now after the Sugary Almond Apple Tarts with the Custard option.

Now I have to learn E-Liquid Calculator since I defected to the dark side and got a new Mac and can't use my preferred one.

Thanks for the heads up on adding strawberry to the doughnut, I've been wanting something strawberry. :)

Sweet Woodruff, ... would be nice to hear that I would be able to get more when I need it.

There are lots of possible subs for Fresh Cream ("Cream, Fresh" is the same thing), but the best choice will depend on the recipe. You can always PM or email me about subs I'd recommend in a particular recipe. FA Vienna Cream is a possibility, if it's not already part of the recipe. If diketones are not an issue, Capella Sweet Cream, Capella Vanilla Whipped Cream, TFA Sweet Cream, TFA Whipped Cream - all have their fans. If it's a fruity recipe, FA Pear and/or Coconut... In a pinch, your favorite vanilla (any brand) can often fill in for small amounts of Fresh Cream. It's also possible you'll like a recipe even if you omit it and sub nothing at all.

Sweet Woodruff has been in near constant supply at wizardlabs for a couple of years. They are a huge supplier, one that does buy in bulk from TFA, like you mentioned. By the way, it's not hard to find TFA Sweet Woodruff in Europe, so TFA is still producing plenty - it's just not a popular American flavor.

Thank you very much. I use it in the Vanilla Silk Pudding in which I use the raspberry option. I did manage to find some today at ecig express and of course had to get some Nonna's Cake too since they put it on the first page with a big announcement, lol. Now I have to do some reading to see which recipes call for that and find out what other flavors I don't have. lol

I don't have a lot of your new recipes, I think I'm up to 4 now, but your recipes are about all I vape anymore, commercial liquid just doesn't taste good anymore, they tend to use way too much sweetener and I've gotten used to vaping juice with none added. I like it that way. :)

Especially for cream-and-honey fans, here's an Easter dessert from the Greek island of Sifnos. This one emphasizes the sweet ricotta flavor in Nonna's Cake for a custardy/cheesecake vape.

New today at HIC's Mixes : Greek Melopita

p Greek Melopita.jpg
"This is a sweet and creamy honey-vanilla vape. Melopita is a traditional Greek custard pie, similar to honey-vanilla cheesecake with citrus, spice and nut accents. A 2-3 day steep time is recommended. All flavorings used are diketone-free. This recipe uses only FlavourArt flavorings, including Torrone and Nonna's Cake."

Tomorrow is the day! I've got all my empty bottles in a nice, neat little row and Strawberry Crown Cake chillin' in the inbox. GET IN MY MAILBOX, NONNA!

Oh, and http://www.carolinaxtract.com/ is the only nic I've tried that trumps VT. Tastes just as clean out of the gate, and has significantly longer shelf life.

I'm needing to place a Nic order, and I'm still disgruntled with vaper Tek over a shipping problem. Which Nic did you get?

I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience with Vapers Tek. At $25/liter, their thraot-hit nic is the best deal on the market for a "clean nic".

This is the Carolina Extracts nic that many adore. It ain't cheap ($156/liter), is USA sourced and produced from organic tobacco.

http://www.carolinaxtract.com/#!shop/cffd

If you want another "clean" alternative, might I suggest Nude Nicotine's "Nude Nic". Many DIY vapers swear by it. New customers can get a 15ml sample of 100mg/ml for shipping cost ($2.75). Depending on your final nic concentration, you should get 100+ ml worth of base from the sample. Full price is $105/liter.

https://www.nudenicotine.com/product/nicotine-sample-request/

Good luck!

@aldenf's got your question covered. If the CXTC is outside your budget, those are all great suggestions. I will note that the CXTC does ship in argon-pushed amber glass, so you're gonna pay another ~$20 for shipping a liter on top of the already comparatively high price. It arrives packaged well enough to survive a nuclear blast, though. If you've got the scratch and it takes you as long as me to go through a liter of nic (long enough to not really notice the price), it's absolutely worth every penny.

You can read about my early adventures with CXTC (Carolina Xtract) in this thread, along with some of the results I had with it versus VT over the course of a couple months. Bear in mind that I vape 10-12 mg, and if you're a low-nic vaper the flavor benefits of a super-clean nic might not be as obvious. If you're a double digit mg DIY'er, a clean nic is your most important ingredient!

Now, quick: Somebody tell me what to do with this bottle of FA Monsoon! It smells like sex! 3%?
