Another thing. Has anyone noticed an "electrical hissing" type of sound comming from the bottom of their mod? I just noticed it on mine when I fired it at 120W to clean the build in my velocity
sounds like arching. no sounds from either of my g2s

I'm not really sure what an 'electrical hissing' sound is. With poor battery life, I would check carefully to see if you have a battery problem. Slow venting of a battery will cause a 'hissing' sound.

It's only when I hit the fire button

fire it while the battery door is off pay close attention to the terminals where the sound is coming from. try going into a closet in the dark fire it with the door off the mod and see if u see any sparks, or arching.

All my G2s make an electrical sounding hiss from the bottom when I hit fire, being an all aluminum mod the sound from the coils vaporising juice is pretty loud at the bottom.

Could what you're hearing be the device oscillating in TC mode, as shown in this vid? Go to 5:45

Thanks for all the help/replies. I went in the dark and fired it and nothing. The sound has disappeared as of now. Maybe it was always there and because it was quiet in my house for the first time in forever, I only noticed it tonight.

So, I've watched a good few of the best of/favorites of 2016 and hohmtech has gotten no love! WTF!? lol
I really wonder how many vapers actually do TC. The guy who bought my Triade DNA 200 told me he was only going to use it in power mode...lol.

TC is a niche category of vaping and the hohtech mods are an even smaller niche of that small category.

Without this thread a lot of us would have not figured out how to use the FSK board properly. We are lucky we found this thread, others not so much.

This is true. Maybe someone should send links to all the major players for this and the slice thread.

My personal feeling on this is there seemed to be a concerted effort on the part of all the major reviewers to not give the FSK board any recognition. The only ones that actually reviewed it were Twisted 420 and Indoor Smoker. Indoor Smoker is just burnt. He said it was a 300 watt device with a single 26650. After that I couldn't hit unsubscribe fast enough. Twisted just did a quick review on it. I belong to a major reviewers lounge on FB. Whenever I bring up the FSK board it just gets ignored. One time the reviewer commented that he and a lot of other reviewers don't like the board because of inherent problems. He said to make sure you do your research. I asked him to explain and he just ignored me.

Yeah, I would like to see daniel work with the mod for a few months. It is up in the air how it would go though, could go south as it is very user dependent on how well TC works. I know in one of the Hohmtech youtube videos he said the chip does not know the temp. I wonder how accurate the presets are now after the last firmware update.

It would not matter to me if daniel gave it a bad review, since he is so technical he just might do that I am guessing. Some people need a device to fire at near exact what the temp says on the screen like a DNA. I use DNA mods as well, great to determine what is accurate and you can dial in the FSK mod to fire the same way.

Happy New Year to all my Hohmies!

Most of these reviewers are just plain stupid. A lot of them also have a big head so don't ask for help if they can't figure something out, there never the problem, always the product. They go into it expecting the FSK board to work like every other board, shame on the board for not working they way they want it to instead of taking the time to learn.

I'm no electrical engineer but I think the FSK board does its TC in a totally different manner than traditional boards. This may mean that it might not be fair to judge it by traditional indicators. Again, I don't know this to be a fact because this is way out of my wheel house. I just know I love the way it vapes and in the end that's really all that matters.

I just want to throw this out there but I find every mod inconsistent in temp mode. Even my Triade 250 420 might be perfect but after it sits a few hours I need 450 for the same effect. It's really more of flavor control then temp control since the temp is never recorded and it's based on an algorithm of how the metals change as they get hot. Only was we could have true TC is if we had temp probes in the atty and it connected to the mods and even then it would be ambient and not on the coils directly.

I agree but try saying that to some DNA disciples, they will label you a ignoramus and try to crucify you.

I notice needing to up the temp or even FSK a lot more when it is cold, have to do the same with a DNA or FSK.

I think it was pbrusardo that said it is temp guessing with any board. Just like you he said they would have to have a probe in the atty.

DNA fanboys are like Harley snobs. They think the only bike that ever existed is the Harley Davidson. DNA snobs think the same way about their mods. All of them spend hundreds of dollars for the same mod in a different wrapper. Just like a Harley. It's really kind of pathetic. Lmao. My variety signature at the end of every one of my posts is especially for them.

I thibk my next mod, if not a slice, will be a yihi. I've heard good things about those as well. I'm almost to the point of not wanting to get a DNA just because of escribe. It seems like a PITA. I want either a slice (26650) or a small dual 18650 mod for work. I'm starting to need higher wattages for my builds and running my balrog at 50-60 watts is not good for battery life.

They are super pricy for the top ones the new one that came out is nice but it's like 220 bucks. I like my DNA boards too and I like escribe and I like my cheaper mods too lol. I like them all. I'm heading out to a party in a fee mins and taking my new coolfire and alpha one tank. Hope it lasts but I got a Battlestar in my car as a backup lol. Still I'm rocking a 15 dollar single coil set up. Lots of good shit. Matter of fact what I gave my friend cost me 14 bucks. A coolfire IV for 10 and a supreme for 4 bucks. Best set up under 15 bucks ever. No need to pay that kind of money for a device imo. 100 is usually my personal limit. I spent 104 on my finder only time I went over that. But even with deal I still spent a good 4k last this year. I passed 2k just from November and December lol.

I don't like spending too much. Honestly, for work, the smallest cheapest 2x18650 mod I can get my hands on would do. I can run power mode on all my builds cause I only build with kanthal, stainless and just recently with nichrome.

Yea, the new sx minis have bluetooth. They're crazy expensive. The ipv8 runs a yihi 330 and they're on sale on US sites for around 50ish. I checked a little while ago on vapecrawler.com but can't remember the cheapest.

I bought a tesla 3 sub ohm kit on vaporworld.biz for like 22.50 with the 50% off coupon. It is unregulated but with safety on it and a built in lipo. Thats about as far as I want to get back into unregulated. For that price it even comes with a tank and can work as a power bank for you phone, for that price why not.

It is just too much work for me to get back into my mech mods. There good and all but I can get the same results with my regulated mods.

Isn't it hilarious though how the DNA fanboys refuse to try a G2. They all say the same thing. I would man, but it's shaped like box. Yet if you take a plain box and throw some fancy laser etching on it with a crappy lipo and a DNA board they'll all line up to pay $500 for it. Lmfao. Sorry I just don't get it.

It's like the $500 mech mods people were buying back in the day. I am one of those idiots who paid 250 for a grenade mech mod, fuck yeah its the best, did you see the price tag...lol

I guess it's like everything, charge a premium price and it is instantly a premium product. I paid a premium price for my Finder 167 and really enjoy it, is it 3 times better than my G2 for performance......um no. Fit and finish it is worth the price I paid, if it had a FSK board I would have paid 25 more happily, 50 more begrudgingly but I would have paid.
