It depends on how you made your mixer. If you bought a variable volt power supply, potentiometer or a computer fan control then you can turn it down. I have a fan control and I can turn the mixer right down so its just moving the liquid around and add no extra air. If you just have a straight 12 volt adapter then you can't do nothing but use full speed. I warm up my base with hot water to loosen up the VG some, set my initial mix with no nic to mix for 2 hours as fast as it will spin, let it sit overnight to dissipate all the air bubbles then remix it again for bout a hour at a slower speed. Let it steep for however long, taste and if its good then add the nic with the mixer spinning slow and trying not to add extra air (syringe with blunt needle put into the mix, not poured or dripped in), mix half hour then sit for a few days. My juice is a 60vg/40pg base
I put my liter of 100nic into 1-500ml and 10-50ml brown bottles I have in the freezer and build 100 mls of 48nic at a time and its working good for me, just thaw, cut and serve.
You can with a box knife score the fins on both sides, snap them off, clean up the edge a bit and your fan will spin faster since there is no air resistance from the blades. I also put a el-cheapo fasttech
Digital LED Voltmeter Module into my box for uselessness sake but use the volts to adjust speed. I cut a small a circle of drawer liner so the jar or beaker don't move around if your hardrive magnet isn't quite perfectly set on the fan.
I got stirbars from eBay china, 10, 15, 20mm in a package and I can mix in a 10-20ml jug with the 10mm, 30-50 with the 15mm and up to 150ml easily with the 20mm bar.
Enjoy the magnetic mixer..IMO its the cats azz. No more shaking till your arm falls off, just set a timer and walk away.
