If anyone has any links on how to clean all of the parts, I would love to know.
Youtube is always a good
source of "show me how" to do stuff.
but I do vape a whole lot most of the time, because I am disabled and at home most of the time and find it soothing.
Shhh. Just shhh. There is no reason to explain, justify or excuse here. Nobody here seems interested in judging. We all come from the same One place where we're all brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, mothers (mamas), fathers (daddies). We don't see color, how you believe, how broken down you are, your political party, who you crawl out of bed with ... none of that matters to us. Sure if you're down, we're here to lift you up again. ...
Fall again, we'll hang back let you try lifting yourself but if needed we're still here. We do this because love has won and won without any fight at all. Here we're all freaks, dorks, weirdos, fools, dummies. It's alright though because here we find grace. Here, we're not judging you. Only little thing that matters to us, see you try for yourself, see you maybe help others. This is what love and grace does, brings us all. So, shh, don't apologize. We don't need it and you don't need to "cut" yourself down doing it.
If you want a deeper clean I would soak it in vinegar or vodka then repeat the hot water rinse.
Ja, bring vodka. I toast for love, let it keep winning.
I think there were sub-ohm, but I'm not into sub ohm, and it seemed to me to be a very tedious & exacting job, that I'd rather just buy the coils.. since I am saving so much money making my own juice.
I'm saving at least $100 a month, if not more by making my own juice. Thank you all for encouraging me to DIY juice!
Oh but you can save so much more honey.
I have spent about $200 to eh, maybe towards $300 over the last two years for vaping gear. I might have spent about $100 for juice, made up already juice although unflavored so I can "cheat" at making my own flavored juice when I do want it.
Here's my cheating system. I use maximum vg juice because for me pg is okay. *chuckles* I don't like just "okay" so I use the vg, it makes far better volume in vapor, more robust vapor too. That I get at 18mg per ml in a 1 L bottle/jug. I then break that over into a 240 to 250 ml plastic "transfer" bottle. I then like using a mod that houses 10 ml bottles. I can do math for base 10 more easily than anything else.
Say I want 10 % flavor in my juice, I know I need 1 ml set aside as flavoring out of 10 ml. well, I only use about 9.5 ml in the 10 ml bottles to accommodate the squonking tube. Still I average to a 10 ml bottle, there's not enough difference for me to be concerned over. I'm no gourmet, maybe a cook but never a chef. Rather stay a cook too, chefs go getting all lost in paperwork.
So my cheating DIY juice secret is out. Oh damn, hurt my feelings bad if somebody copies it. *lol* I probably didn't "invent" the idea either, it's probably been around longer than even vaping, like watering down vodka. *grins* Never have claimed I'm original. Bah, never would either, I write, we steal ideas all the time. Ideas though are not property, they're too abstract until formed into narrative. Then, you can copyright a narrative, if you really want to ... Why bother? some writer will come along, read the idea behind the narrative, steal it.
I save more money on buying wire, more on that later. ...
MTL is Mouth To Lung vs Direct Lung type of vaping.
MTL is more like how most people smoked cigs.
for the cost of 5-6 factory coils you can get 6 months worth of wire and cotton.
Uh huh, actually at what she is paying per pack of assemblies ... I might get a year, eh, maybe two of wick, wire/coil/s. More later though, ...
I'm paying about $8 - $10 a box for a 5 pack of the 1.6 right now.. for the Aspire Nautilus bvc, 1.6.
Ah here it is. I'm going to estimate here and say a 1.6 ohm micro coil is probably running a 1.5 MM inner diameter. Hm, going to guess and say it's Kanthal A1 wire as that seems sensible material. I can get a 30 ft spool for about $4, think a 250 ft spool for around $7 maybe $8 at the most, depending on the AWG of the wire. I use a jig to wrap coils around, it cost maybe a buck and has wrapped um, erm, countless coils.
The company manufacturing your coil assemblies is seeing around $7-9 per box of coils it ships out to customers. See how that adds up? I can get over 200 to 300 coils if using a 1.5 mm inner diameter for each coil. If I got an assembly outer shell, I could rebuild the coils, drop a fresh one in the shell then put the assembly back in an atomizer for use. The assembly shells sell for pennies on the hundreds, or thousands.
They also got machines to wind out coils to near perfection every time. But they don't get perfection enough of the time to warrant the extra "mark up" pricing they put on to customers. All they're required to do is have maybe six folks on rotating (three) eight hour (three eight hours in a 24 hour day) shifts go by check the tolerances on the machines, adjust if needed. The companies are not even bothered to pay workers a good wage. Understandably so too. Soon enough they'll let AI loose to automatic the factories churning out coils more. And unlike humans the machines go 24/7 without illness, need of benefits packages, more pay.
So, do something human. Learn to build your own coils. It's cheaper in the long run, as well as it's a skill you can hold fast to later on. "Damn, wish I knew how to make a coil for this refrigerator's compressor. we'd have a fridge for the medicine we need." "Hey, wait I know how to make electrical resistance coils. Bet I can make up a coil to work for this. Let me store some food in your fridge?" "Well hey, sure. Get me up and going and I'll even let you have a spot for growing veggies if you want."
Use skills to barter for goods, services and vice versa. Screw money, it's only money. Have a skill? You can always eat, find shelter, have clothes, wash up, be safe.
Anytime you have an issue with a tank YouTube should be your first stop. You can get a visual of the item in question. Review or breakdown should show you. Building coils to fit back in the casing for those is a Uber pain in the ass so I doubt you'll find someone to do that. They make mtl rebuildable that would be much easier to work with.
Yes, micro coils and my arthritic fingers, not focusing eyes when looking at tiny stuff, my nerves making me punch myself ... *tosses tiny coils out the window* a pox on them. I used to like tiny stuff like that too. I shook but stayed as stable as a rock doing it. Now, I go too damn stable and shake all over doing it. I blame those fools what killed Robin Williams. Nope, don't buy suicide, two of his films back my theory up. Look at
What May Come and
Best Dad of The Year. He "didn't" talk to his girl Zelda that way. Both movies were rough, about suicide, both said he was adamantly against it."Zelda, I know you're not listening but here it is anyway." Daddies understand "not talking". Daughters and sons do as well, daughters usually more keenly.
If I were going through coils as fast as that, I would suspect that I am not priming them properly, or that I am vaping too much of the juice out of the tank before refilling.
*hugs* Love you, bright eyes.
I agree, would trying to figure out what if any user issues were going on. And no, that's not judging. I have had all kinds of fun figuring out "gee, I was putting the battery in wrong' or "ah, so the juice flows up this tube like a chimney but if if gets on that circuit, erm oops." People make mistakes, it's how we learn, grow.
I would think mayb you were running the tank to low. I know smok coils had a min line on it.
I see how you're doing over here, drinking the punch Bright Eyes up there is mixing up.
Just watch out you don't get slipped the ambrosia instead. *chuckles* Wind up wandering around somewhere in central Mongolia and seeing your old self move out to Europe.
Tanks themselves if SS and Glass last pretty much forever unless threads mess up or you run over it with your car or somesuch physical abuse.
* now has to go look up this Somesuch guy, show him what real abuse can be * F*&ker won't mess with
@The Cromwell like that. I'm all kinds of way too happy now for Anysuch, much less Somesuch to be fouling with my friends, family. I'll treat them to abuse right back until THEY like it and want more, and come to understand my joy.
I didn’t use factory coil tanks long though. I did the math early on
The old Smok or Kanger Pro tank coils were alright, only ran about a buck per coil assembly. Still though I agree costs on those things kept creeping up like the sneaky and aggressive red wasps.
