How low do my ohms need to be to hit 150w on a siegeli box mod?

Thinking about upgrading from my 50w istick to a siegeli 150w and i was wondering, how low do my ohms need to be to safely hit 150w? Thanks!

In order to hit that, off of a freshly charged battery at 4.2 volts, you'd need a coil that is at .12 ohms. However, this is the absolute threshold, and since there is error in all the measurements you make, you run the risk of accidentally over-taxing your battery and causing it to vent/explode. I personally do not recommend going down so low at this stage of the game.

This leads me to my advice: Do not attempt this with your level of experience. If you're still asking what ohms you need for what set up, you still are a little new to be trying to get to 150 Watts. There are many things that can go wrong if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

What tank/rda are you using? With what resistance coil? At what wattage & voltage?
How long have you been vaping?
Have you ever built coils?

I am using a clt v3 rda with dual coils wrapped at 28g kanthal at about 9 wraps each. I build my own coils and have been vaping for about a year. My builds usually end up being around. 9-1.0 ohms. I was just wondering how many ohms would be practical for running the siegeli at 150w. Thanks

Regulated high watt boxes don't have to have low Ohm builds to make a lot of vapor. I use mine with a 1 Ohm dual coil dripper build at 60 watts and that is plenty of power and lots and lots of clouds.

Start at 35 watts and work upwards to taste and preference.

Well, I must say I feel shameful to make assumptions. Only assumed though because your profile is so new. I just didn't want an accident to happen and someone get hurt from this hobby, it's already under enough fire.

No problem, i just dont have a full understanding of how ohms and volts and watts interact yet. I wouldn't be hitting it at 150w a lot obviously but just for fun and to show people the power it has every once in awhile. Would i be able to hit it at 150w with the build i posteded?

The image i've attached gives you equations to figure out whatever you need.

My short answer is no, you can not run the current build you have with that wattage.

I think its something you are going ot have to experimentwith, tbh, but I would think if you eanted to go full 150w you would want somewere bwtween 3-5 ohms

I am going to put an ohm's law calculator at the bottom of this post and let you do the math and figure it out so you can see the amount of power required....you have to remember that the Segelei 150 is a Series battery box mod and not a parallel, running both batteries in series your mah and continuous amp drain limits are the same as if you were only using a single battery and only the output voltage is doubled so you start with 8.4 amps instead of 4.2 volts. The seeming increased lifespan you get from using two batteries is an illusion created from the mod's chipset "bucking" the voltage down to whatever you have it set at making it appear to have an increased lifespan but when you start cracking the wattage up that high (this is true for any device but especially series mods,) the batteries will die fairly quick. Also, in complete honesty the flavor and heat of 150 watts sucks. It is an outright hot and painful experience if you're not ready for it and you'll fly the flavor right out of most eliquids. I am telling you all this because if you're going to try and play with that much power you should at least know how it all works...I just posted a safety video of a hybrid mech that the battery vented in and almost burned down a guys apartment building ....I cannot stress how important knowledge and safety is. So I give you the calculator and you can figure out the ohms.

Just make sure you do it with true 30 amp batteries like VTC 3 or 4's, not 5's or an LG HB6....you need it to keep the device from stepping down your output to actually achieve it. If you're using a rewrap like an MXJO or something it might not even hit it...it will say it is, but the chipset can regulate and step itself down to protect itself since turned all the way up it needs to draw more power in than at the lower settings you're asking it too put out. It's really hard to explain series regulated mods in a few words...just trust me on this please...and good luck.
