What I want to know is WTF is the difference between an RTA and an RDTA? lol. I like the idea of an RTA but so far I've not had one that beats dripping or squonking for flavor and clouds combined.
The following are just MY definitions. There is no industry standard...
RDA: Just the deck... wee, tiny juice well... drip and vape, only.
RTA: Deck at the bottom. Juice is gravity/vacuum fed.
RDTA: Deck on top. Juice is fed by capillary action up the wicks.
GTA: Deck in the middle of the tank. Juice is fed through a combination of capillary and gravity.
Genisis: Deck on top, but not suited for cotton wicking. Wicking is stainless mesh, or stainless rope.
There are a couple of oddballs out there that mash up multiple features. For instance, the old Big Dripper had a full RDA in the base, a tank on top, and a spring-loaded drip tip on a shaft the opened and closed the juice flow to allow liquid to get the deck. Also, the Fountain which had a full RDA deck on too, and a 5 ml squonk bottle stuck in the base of the atomizer... squeeze the atty bottle to feed liquid up. The new Taifun BT uses steel rope (like a Genisis) to feed cotton in a deck with a mesh coil... weird, but very functional. The Shenray Genelocity does the same thing with a Velocity-style deck.
