Reminds me of a time when our youngest brother accidentally drank part of a soda can of gasoline. He had been to see the medical professional. Advice was, "yes it may sting and burn but you'll excrete it." Youngest brother got rather worried that evening. He told two older brothers he was scared, he might need to poop.

"Go, Char---, go! Get that gas out. Go take a dump. You'll feel a lot better! Go!" We kept telling him. He kept delaying until finally he literally had a blowout of a kind. My goodness the scream he cried out of the bathroom. We couldn't help but to laugh despite knowing his butt probably felt on fire.

He's also the brother we told to pee on some weeds right by a live electric fence wire. We couldn't stop laughing that day either. Some of the things we got into ain't fit for kids of today. Imagine three rough and tumble country boy brothers and a mamma just as bad, nutty. We knew discipline though. Goodness if we were out in public the last words we ever wanted to hear were, "I think we need to go to the bathroom."

My mom, brass ones she has, big shiny ones at that. Me a mamma's boy? Damn straight. T's her what taught me to handle my liquor and the common sense to know I don't really need it at all. She also has taught us the definition of "never surrender". A good part of that of lies in being able to laugh heartily, even there are storm clouds and the day has gone all wrong.
