Breakfast Rice with Banana and Mango
(full recipe in this email below)
Rise and shine to a breakfast that's as energizing as it is delicious – our enticing recipe for Breakfast Rice with Banana and Mango! In the world of plant-based wonders, this vibrant dish takes center stage, combining the wholesomeness of cooked brown rice with the natural sweetness of mashed bananas and succulent mango.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup brown rice cooked
  • 3/4 cup mashed banana divided
  • 1/2 cup mango
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp walnuts chopped
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 cup spinach cut into ribbons or small pieces
Directions:
  1. In a blender, blend ½ of banana, mango, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Slice the other ½ of the banana and set aside.
  3. In a small pan, dry fry the walnuts and chia seeds over medium heat for 3 minutes. Be careful not to burn them.
  4. In a bowl place the spinach, cooked rice, banana slices, and raisins. Gently mix.
  5. Pour the banana mango sauce over the rice mixture. Top with the walnuts and chia seeds.
NOTES: If you don’t have spinach, use any greens such as lettuce or kale. Instead of raisins, you can use chopped dates.

Shingles Boosts Risk of Heart Attack, Stroke

People who develop shingles, a reactivation of the chicken pox virus that commonly affects older people, may also face a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.

Shingles is a viral infection that consists of a painful, usually itchy rash that develops on one side of the face or body. The rash consists of blisters that typically scab over in seven to 10 days and fully clear up within two to four weeks.

South Korean researchers found that people with shingles saw an overall 41% higher risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack or stroke, compared to an age-matched control group that did not develop shingles.

The risk of stroke was 35% higher and heart attack 59% higher, said the report published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

The riskiest period was the first year after infection, and the dangers appeared to decline after that.

A shingles vaccine, called Shingrix, is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for adults aged 50 and older to help prevent shingles and related complications, whether they’ve already had the virus or not. It’s given in two doses, with two to six months between doses.

C0V!D jabs cause strange bleeding in women - Something not to be ignored!
Researchers in Norway found something unusual in women who got the deadly jabs….
Some of these women experienced unexpected vaginal bleeding even if they had already stopped getting their periods….
They looked at about 22,000 women over nine months and saw that…
There truly was a strangely high percentage of women who experienced this unexpected vaginal bleeding following v@ccination.
What's interesting is that almost half of these unusual bleeds happened in the first four weeks after getting the jab.
Also, the risk of bleeding was higher in the month after getting the jab compared to before.
The researchers, led by Kristine Blix from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health in Oslo…
Used data from a health survey to look into the connection between CVD-19 v@ccines and unusual bleeding in women.
When they noticed some women reporting heavy menstrual bleeding after getting the v@ccine…
Kristine Blix says:
"This urged us to ask for bleeding patterns in a structured manner.”

In the study, in fact, nuts were even associated with decreased measures of body fat!
Are you eating nuts wrong?
BUT, most people eat roasted, salted nuts. With roasted nuts, you lose the protein and the beneficial plant components — and a harmful chemical, acrylamide, forms. Or, they eat highly processed nuts that are often flavored with unhealthy ingredients and a lot of salt.

Make your own tasty snacks, rather than buying lower-quality, higher-priced options at the grocery store.
How to eat nuts?
It’s true that you don’t want to have too many nuts in a day. Simply have 1–2 ounces of nuts per day. Or eat them in higher amounts if you’re slim and could use more calories.
  • 1 ounce of almonds = 23 almonds
  • 1 ounce of walnuts = 12–14 halves
  • 1 ounce of pecans = 19 halves
Regular eaters of nuts are more likely to have the recommended intakes of some important nutrients: vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, and fiber.

Diabetes and cancer are two of the most common chronic diseases affecting people today.

What is the gut-brain axis?​

The gut-brain connection is governed by an axis known as the gut-brain axis, which consists of communication between the central and enteric nervous systems, brain and spinal cords, the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis, and the gut microbiome.

This constant communication and signaling occurs through various chemical messengers, the endocrine system and gut hormones as well as via neurotransmitters and helps to keep the body in a state of balance.

Many of these hormones and neurotransmitters, such as gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), dopamine and serotonin are actually made in the gut, along with gut byproducts of carbohydrate fermentation such as the highly anti-inflammatory short chain fatty acids (SCFA).

The state of our gut microbiome therefore can regulate our brain and behavior, influencing normal brain functioning, while a dysbiotic or imbalanced gut microbiome is involved in many psychiatric conditions including depression and anxiety.

Good mental health is an integral part of our overall health and wellbeing.

Good mental health allows us to cope with challenges, connect with others and thrive throughout our lives. It’s vital and deserves to be recognized and respected.
