Arugula Salad with Lemon Tahini Dressing

Ingredients:

• 8 oz arugula
• ½ cucumber, sliced
• 2 green onions, sliced
• Juice of 1 lemon
• 4 Tbsp tahini
• ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, tahini, and olive oil until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, combine arugula, cucumber, and green onions.
  3. Add the dressing and toss until evenly coated. Serve and enjoy!
This salad is light, refreshing, and packed with hormone-supportive ingredients—and it pairs beautifully with your favorite protein like grilled chicken, salmon, or another high-quality source of protein for a complete, balanced meal.

When I was little, I had a very hard time paying attention in school. I wanted to do well, and fit in with the other kids, but I’d find myself staring out the window while Mr. Greneere rattled off long division equations at the front of the class.

I was even put in Special Ed for a little while, a bittersweet experience that connected me to my first ever mentor - but that’s a tale for another day.

If it wasn’t for a few people who saw the potential in me, my life might have turned out differently.

Growing up I didn’t realize that I was and am neurodivergent - meaning my brain works differently than other people.

This comes with beautiful shamanic perks and abilities. It’s also replete with many limitations and challenges that need to be worked through in order to function in society.

I’m still working on that last part :)

Get Help If You Have Heart Attack Symptoms

You’d think that after decades of public service announcements imploring people to get immediate help if they think they are having a heart attack, this wouldn’t still be a problem. Unfortunately, you’d be wrong.

Most deaths from heart attack occur in the first few hours after the onset of symptoms. Quick treatment is crucial for restoring blood flow to blocked arteries, which can save lives and circumvent heart damage.

Special: More Than 50% of Older Americans Fail to Get Enough Magnesium

Yet a recent study published in the European Journal of Cardiology found that of 326 patients who had suffered heart attacks, about half waited three hours after the onset of symptoms to summon help. A significant portion delayed getting assistance for more than 24 hours.

Some people in this group said they felt emotionally paralyzed; others misconstrued their symptoms, thinking they would pass or weren’t serious enough to call for an ambulance. Others worried they wouldn’t be able to get help, especially if it was the middle of the night.

The statistics are clear: If you think you might be having a heart attack, don’t delay. Call 911 immediately. It could very well save your life.

How do you shop and cook heart-healthy meals for your loved ones? Of course, some foods are better for your heart than others. But from the wealth of popular diets, experts recommend these as most beneficial to your overall health and heart.

DASH Diet. U.S. News & World Report, whose panel of health experts reviews some 40 diets, has named the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet as one of the top diets of 2025. The publication cites DASH for lowering high blood pressure, cholesterol, and preventing heart disease overall.

Special: Doctor: All Multivitamins Are Not the Same

Mediterranean Diet. The Mediterranean diet is a way of eating dating back to biblical times. Its focus is on fresh unprocessed foods and preparation techniques that favor simple baking or grilling instead of frying. It’s also rich in fruits, vegetables, fish, whole grains, legumes, and healthy fats like olive oil.

Ornish Diet. Dr. Dean Ornish is a pioneer in reversing heart disease through diet. In his book “The Spectrum,” Ornish categorizes food into five groups, from the most healthy (group one) to the least healthy (group five). While nothing is off limits in this diet, the more you stick to the foods in group one, the more quickly you’ll attain your goal, according to Ornish.

Dr. Crandall’s Life Plan Diet. There are seven keys to Crandall’s Life Plan Diet: Fill up on fruits and vegetables, eat animal protein in moderation, bulk up on fiber, use olive oil, don’t exclude dairy, choose whole grains and cereals, and snack wisely.
