The first time I experienced cancer...
When I was 26 years old, I watched my grandfather battle cancer.

I watched as clumps of his white hair fell out onto the floor.

I felt helpless and hopeless as he became weaker and suffered in tremendous pain from the chemotherapy and radiation.

And I struggled to hold back tears when sitting with him in Arizona seeing him suffer.

I’ll never forget that feeling of frustration and powerlessness that I couldn’t do more.

Maybe you’ve had a similar experience. Or maybe you’re going through this experience right now.

When you’re diagnosed with cancer, it’s easy to feel hopeless, discouraged, and that there’s nothing you can do. But know this:

Cancer is not a death sentence.

Despite what the doctors told my family (that there wasn’t anything else we could do)...

I later learned there are countless natural, holistic, and alternative treatments that we didn’t try. And while we weren’t able to save my grandfather, these treatments are providing total cancer freedom to thousands of folks around the world.

Here’s some of the most amazing ones I’ve learned about since my grandfather passed in 2013…

  • How a specific form of fasting can reduce cancer risk an astonishing 95%
  • The diet that can double or even triple your chance of both remission and total cancer freedom
  • How a simple, 5-minute daily ritual that can all but eliminate the side-effects of conventional treatment
  • The food that is so effective at fighting cancer that ½ a cup daily reduces your risk by 50%
Amazing right?

These, and other breakthroughs are the key allowing thousands to eliminate their cancer for good.

And I want you to be just like them — free of cancer and back in total control of your life.

So today, I want to share the one place where you can get info on ALL of these breakthroughs.

It’s an invitation-only membership group with the latest information, expert advice, and support you need to overcome cancer.

It’s a resource that can help answer all of your questions, keep you up-to-date with the latest cancer breakthroughs, and allow you to connect with folks just like you — who have faced, or are currently facing cancer.

If you’d like more details (and see where you can learn more on those breakthroughs I mentioned above) you can get all the details here:

>> THIS form of fasting can reduce cancer risk an astonishing 95% (find out what it is here)

GLUTENOLOGY, A GREAT EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE

I find so many people are familiar with gluten sensitivity, but few understand how detrimental it is to long-term digestive health.
Leaky gut (the geek term is intestinal hyperpermeability) is one of the most common problems at the root of autoimmune pain and disease. ALL diseases start with digestive imbalances, so you want to restore gut health sooner than later.
Leaky gut happens when tight junctions in the gut that control what passes through the lining of the small intestine don’t work properly. As a result, these junctions may become loose and allow toxins and undigested food to leak into the bloodstream. (This is when you strike out.)
Gluten intolerance can dismantle these tight junctions and create this permeability, causing food allergies.
Somewhat of a medical mystery to many doctors, this condition oftentimes goes undiagnosed or worse misdiagnosed. This is why it is extremely important to be properly educated on gluten and leaky gut, and to work with a doctor who is familiar with the condition, the tests, and proper recovery.
Gain an in-depth understanding of leaky gut and how to get on the road to recovery today!
Get your hands on the 15 Things to Know About Gluten eBook now!
In doing so, you’ll save your seat for the free, online Glutenology™ Masterclass coming up September 15-19 where Dr. Peter Osborne will teach you the most powerful, most relevant information about gluten backed by 20 years of clinical trials for gluten sensitivity.
Jot it on the calendar and don’t forget to grab the eBook, 15 Things to Know About Gluten! Both are free.

Hi Jimi,

Delta Is now Dominant Variant In U.S.

I routinely reach out to friends and colleagues, infectious disease doctors, internists, hospitalists, and others on the front lines battling COVID19 at hospitals across the U.S. The news as you know isn’t good!
These doctors are reporting a massive uptick in cases and hospitalizations including some vaccine breakthrough cases.

The new Delta variant is a real beast of a virus.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, several variants of the virus have emerged. But the one named Delta is now the most severe of them all. This highly contagious variant was first identified in India in December 2020. Within six months, it spread to 85 countries. Now it’s in all 50 of the United States, where it’s become the dominant strain.
Delta is potentially “more lethal because it’s more efficient in the way it transmits between humans and it will eventually find those vulnerable individuals,” says Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO’s health emergencies program.
CDC director Rochelle Walensky said during a White House briefing late July that the Delta variant is “more aggressive and much more transmissible” than other strains of COVID-19, per The Washington Post. She also called it “one of the most infectious respiratory viruses we know of and that I have seen in my 20-year career.”
The delta variant is the most contagious version of the coronavirus worldwide. It spreads about two to three times faster than the original version of the virus, and it’s currently dominating the outbreak in the United States, responsible for more than 80% of COVID cases.
A new study, published online this month, sheds light on why. It finds that the variant grows more rapidly inside people’s respiratory tracts and to much higher levels, researchers at the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
In addition, after someone catches the delta variant, the person likely becomes infectious sooner. On average, it took about four days for the delta variant to reach detectable levels inside a person, compared with six days for the original coronavirus variant.
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus COVID-19 is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.
The coronavirus gets its name from the crown-like spikes on its surface, according to the CDC. (Corona is Latin for crown.) Including the newly identified form of the virus, there are a total of seven coronaviruses that can infect humans, the CDC says.

Whether you’re vaccinated or not, here are the natural recommendations I’ve previously shared with my patients and blog readers.
The following supplements are what my family, patients and I take on a regular basis.
These supplements are recommended to help boost the immune system or optimize pulmonary function.

Over The Counter Supplements For Prevention And TreatmentN-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC)

From PubMed
“N-Acetylcysteine, a Forgotten Immune-Modulating Agent
N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a precursor of the antioxidant glutathione, has been used to loosen thick mucus in the lungs and treat acetaminophen overdose for decades. However, NAC can also boost the immune system, suppress viral replication, and reduce inflammation.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7649937/?fbclid=IwAR2TakWyIwq5YCc_I18JsI9Ba6V81JaSDqkMRpVJBBOB8WX19KipSU2mabk
I take NAC on a daily basis to help with seasonal allergies and to prevent periodic asthma symptoms. Since the Corona Virus has an affinity for attacking lung tissue it makes sense to give NAC a look.
N-acetylcysteine – has been shown to reduce the frequency and/or severity of influenza, cystic fibrosis and COPD. It is available as a supplement. In view of the potential benefit it is worth consideration as a prophylactic measure against coronavirus respiratory illness.
NAC supplements can help those suffering from a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which causes long-term oxidative damage and lung tissue inflammation, causing airways to constrict and inducing shortness of breath and coughing. NAC supplements have been used to improve COPD symptoms, exacerbations, and lung decline.
Studies have shown that that NAC may help treat bronchitis symptoms by thinning mucus in bronchial tubes and increasing Glutathione levels. It can decrease the rate and intensity of wheezing, coughing, and respiratory attacks.

Other studies have shown NAC might help treat other lung and respiratory tract conditions like cystic fibrosis, asthma, and pulmonary fibrosis, in addition to symptoms of nasal and sinus congestion due to allergies or infections.
We get cysteine ordinarily by consuming protein, the stuff that builds our muscles and is found in meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, and beans. The extra cysteine has many valuable uses, including supporting the immune system and lung health.
NAC boosts one of the body’s main antioxidants: glutathione. It’s sometimes used to reduce cough and mucus in people with lung diseases.
I’m recommending 500mg of N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) twice a day for prevention.

Diabetes Drug Shows Promise for Juveniles

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Type 2 diabetes is on the rise among children and teens, but they have had fewer treatment choices than adults.

Previously, the only drugs approved for treatment of juveniles with Type 2 diabetes were metformin and insulin. But the FDA has now approved Victoza (liraglutide), a Type 2 diabetes drug for adults, to help control blood sugar levels for children and teens ages 10-17.

Special: Doctor Discovers Sugar Control Method, Naturally

The approval followed research at Yale University that looked at how liraglutide affected blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin (or A1c) levels in patients ages 10 to 16 with Type 2 diabetes who were already taking metformin with or without insulin.

Half of the patients took metformin plus liraglutide, and the other half took metformin plus an inactive placebo.

After six months, those in the liraglutide group had substantially lower blood sugar levels and their A1c levels were 1.1 percentage points lower than those in the placebo group.

After one year, the liraglutide group had A1c levels 1.3 percentage points lower than the placebo group, which had an average 0.5 percentage point increase. The investigators also found that, after one year, nearly two-thirds of the liraglutide group had A1c levels under the 7% target, compared to one-third of the placebo group.

FEATURED EVENT
The microbiome makes up 57% of your body’s total cell count. These are the bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites that fill every nook and cranny of our bodies.
And most of these tiny colonists live in our gut.
In fact, studies in recent decades revealed that a disrupted microbiome can lead to chronic diseases like Alzheimer’s, autoimmune disease, cancer, obesity, diabetes, anxiety and many more.
And in the last two years alone, we found out that:
  • People with depression have lower levels of gut microbes called Coprococcus and Dialister
  • Gut microbes can be the culprit behind unwanted weight gain
  • Gut microbes may help those with food allergies & skin issues
  • People with dementia have lower levels of gut bacteria called Bacteroides (enterotype I) and higher levels of bacteria called enterotype III
  • There is a significant relationship between gut bacteria and schizophrenia
This 8-part series features over 40 world-leading gut health experts, who will teach you exactly how to regain full health by harnessing the power of your gut.
The Gut Solution airs September 6th-19th, so don't miss out!

YOU CANNOT GET WELL IN THE SAME ENVIRONMENT YOU BECAME ILL IN.

Hey Jim

One of the biggest overlooked areas of the body when we are looking at chronic dis-ease, symptoms and pain is the lymph.

Most people just think of the lymphatic system as being associated with cellulite but in reality it is one of the most fundamental aspects of your overall health.

The lymph acts as the aquarium and sewage system of your body.

It affects every organ and cell in the body and also plays a huge role in getting toxins out.

I am sure you have seen a fish trying to breathe in a dirty fish tank, well that is how your cells and organs feel when your lymph is dirty and stagnant.

They struggle.

Healthy lymph will create huge impacts in every area of your health because it’s what connects the entire body!

The lymphatic system is a primary part of the immune system and is directly involved in your gut health.

So whether you have inflammation/pain, a diagnosed disease such as cancer or autoimmune disease or just chronic annoying symptoms such as acne or gas/bloating….the lymph is involved.

The lymphatic system is a big player in your detox pathways.

And before addressing any of the individual organ systems, infections, or toxicity, you must make sure the lymph is flowing properly.

And dry brushing and rebounding is NOT going to cut it.

Here are some signs that you need to work on healthy lymph flow:

  • Foggy thinking/memory issues
  • Headaches
  • Pain or inflammation anywhere in the body
  • Anxiety/depression
  • Swelling in your fingers (rings fitting more tightly?)
  • Feeling stiff and sore when you wake up in the morning
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Brain fog
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Depression
  • Bloating
  • Excess weight
  • Food sensitivities
  • Digestive issues
  • Dry or itchy skin
  • Sinus infections
  • Frequent colds and flu
  • Weakened immunity
  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Allergies
  • Unexplained injury and illness
  • Constipation
  • Parasites
If you have been addressing toxins, gut health, hormones, etc and not first addressing your detox pathways (especially your lymph), you will stay stuck on a roller coaster of repetitive symptoms.

Hey Jimi!

Food is foundational to your family’s health and wellbeing.

The nutrients children eat are the building blocks of everything...brain, gut, focus, disease…

Good news is that, as a parent, you can find a strategy that works for your whole family and each individual in it.

A set of pediatric food experts (as well as parents in the trenches) will show you how in this NEW documentary series: “Conscious Parenting”.

Joe was told he would never meet his grandson.

He was told that there was a less than 1% chance he’d live more than 3 months.

And he was told there was nothing more he could do about it.

You see Joe, after beating small cell lung cancer, had discovered his cancer had spread to his neck, his right lung, his stomach, his liver, his bladder, his pancreas, and his tailbone.

Dozens of tumors throughout his body. Something his doctors (top experts at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston) had never seen someone recover from.

But you know what? Joe didn’t give up.

He kept searching for answers to what might help him survive this disease.

That was 4 years ago. And today marks the 53rd month that Joe has not only been alive and kicking — but it’s the 53rd month he’s been 100% cancer free.

Read that again.

Not a cancerous cell in his body for a full 4 and a half years.

What’s amazing is how many people have a story like Joe’s. Who have — against all odds — achieved total freedom from their cancer.

And while they often have different diets, treatments, and healing plans…

Almost every survivor has people around them that love and support them.

Because when it comes down to it…

I’m sure you know how hopeless a cancer diagnosis can make you feel.

It makes it easy to want to throw in the towel.

To accept the numbers and statistics that say there’s nothing you can do.

But having people around you, especially people who have been successful at beating cancer, well it can make all the difference in your own success story against this disease.

And today, I want to give you the opportunity to connect with those kinds of people.

With people who have faced, or are currently facing cancer.

Because like I said…

Having people around you that can understand what you’re going through, answer your questions, and share what worked for them can make all the difference in your diagnosis.

Here’s where you can do it:

>> connect with folks that have, or are currently overcoming cancer

Take care.

I used to think gluten didn't affect me, or my family.

And then I started having gut issues, and my daughter was having respiratory issues.

We tried everything!

Herbs, cleanses, detoxes, fasting, you name it!

Literally everything!

Until I learned about gluten, and how it literally effects EVERY SINGLE PERSON in a negative way!

Except it doesn't always show up the same.

For some it's migraines, others it's joint pain, others is digestive issues, poor sleep, mental fog, fatigue.

I didn't want to believe, I didn't think it was the culprit in my diet.

But I listened to the experts, educated myself, made the changes...

And it wasn't until my daughter and I both got gluten completely out of our diets until we fully healed.

It wasn't easy!

It's a sneaky molecule that's hidden in thousands of foods.

But we're so thankful that we're healed now and thriving!

If you or a loved one has cancer, autoimmune disease, join pain, or any other chronic health issue, one of the underlying causes could be gluten!

LIMITLESS

Cancer has taught me many things, but one of the most impactful is that, truly, anything is possible. It started out with terrible things being possible, like getting cancer at 28 for example or feeling worse than you ever thought you could, and in those moments, it is so easy, so effortless, to just drop into a hole and follow it down, down, down.

No two cancer experiences will be the same; it is as unique a disease and an experience as the person that it is happening to. The sheer number of ways that cancer journeys have started and concluded, and the many, many moments in between, boggle the mind. And the differing levels and nuances to the mental and emotional health of those going through it and the friends and loved ones around them? Incalculable.

The possibilities are endless, and that can be an incredibly scary thing. Humans do not like the unknown, especially when their lives are potentially in jeopardy, but what I always like to remind myself is that it is actually a good thing. Because we don't know what's going to happen, it is equally likely that it all works out in an amazing way, even if it's not what we expected or even imagined or hoped.

Cancer worked out as I hoped it would in some ways, but also in so many ways that I didn't know I could hope for. The positives, the lessons, and the growth that I talk about all the time, there is absolutely no way that I could have predicted them on that first day, sitting in a small and overly-bright surgeon's office with my jaw hanging open at the words, "So, you do have cancer". But I think that's the beauty of this journey. It is so unexpected and unpredictable, and because of that, it teaches us so much about ourselves, what we want from the life we have left, and how we want to show up in it. In its unpredictability, the experience is limitless. That's life, really.

It's only when we're forced out of our ruts that we realize just how much is possible. We love to put boxes and barriers and rules around what life "should" be, about who we "should" be, about what a job or career "should" look like, about what a cancer experience "should" feel like. But here's the truth: we can do, be, feel any damn thing and any damn way we want to, because we are limitless too. And there is just so much hope in that realization.

Happy Healing ❤️

Mental Health Monday

I’ve been talking about rituals and routines lately in my writing, and as I was also dealing with a heavier-than-usual bout of anxiety recently as well, I thought I would merge the two and discuss my routine or process for approaching those feelings of higher anxiety. This will be a two-parter, and this week in part one I’m talking about the 5 steps I take. Next week, I will break the fifth step down further, since it’s the hardest one! I hope you find both parts helpful as you learn to handle these difficult and potentially new-to-you emotions and states.

Check it out here on the Solis YouTube channel

Resources: Mental and Emotional Health

This is one especially for those in the group living in Ontario, but others can benefit as well. I wanted to share something that I've been finding really helpful, a website called MindBeacon that pairs you up with a counsellor based on your needs. It's a 12-week program that is all done online and tailored to the issues that you are having.

Their tagline is "Mental health that fits your life", and they definitely deliver on that. You can message your counsellor at any time and they usually get back to you within 24 hours. And then there are some short lessons and activities each week that your counsellor picks for you to give you tools and resources to support you in tackling the mental and emotional health issues you are facing right now.

It's very low-commitment (no more than 1-2 hours a week) and more comfortable because it's all done online; no video or in-person appointments. And even better, right now it is 100% FREE for all Ontario residents. It's possible that other provinces/territories are providing it for free as well, so if you live in Canada, see if it's free for you too. For anyone living outside of Ontario/Canada, you can pay for the program (it looks like it's about $500, but it also says that it's covered by most insurance plans), but there are also many free mental health resources on their website (just click on the second link below and then on "Mental Wellness Content" in the menu at the top of the page).

Click here if you are in Ontario

Lessons Cancer Taught Me: Year 4

In my first year after diagnosis, I started to have realizations about different things I was learning from cancer: ways I was changing, positive growth I was experiencing, and how my perspective on life was shifting. I started writing them down, and it is something that I continue today. I am currently sharing my lessons from year four in the Facebook group, so if you have missed any of them, visit the link below to see the most recent one, and then meander through the posts on the group wall or search "lessons" in the group's search bar to see the others. I will keep posting until I share them all. I hope they speak to you and help you find some pockets of light in your own darkness.
