Can Cancer Be Starved of Sugar?

Jim, did you know that cancer cells require much more glucose than healthy cells to produce energy with the biological process they need to survive called glycolysis?

Could targeting the glucose pathway with a healthy diet and repurposed cancer drug of glucose management possibly inhibit tumor growth & starve cancer cells?

As Cancer is a metabolic disease, cancer cells are always rapidly proliferating uncontrolled, as their metabolic pathways are massively upregulated to support the rapid proliferation.

It's pervasive, yet rarely spoken about.

It affects 10-20% of women at least once per year.

Antibiotics are often prescribed, even when safer, natural alternatives are available...

(I'm talking about UTIs!)

Urinary tract infections (UTI), also known as bladder infections, impact about 1 in 5 women every year. While antibiotics are usually a go-to to treat UTIs, I don't generally recommend them as they can do more harm than good for patients with chronic conditions like autoimmunity, dysbiosis, and hormone dysfunction.

6 Ways Stress Damages Your Heart

Stress is the body’s response to mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances. When you’re under such mental stress, your body releases hormones — primarily cortisol and adrenaline — that ratchet up blood pressure, heart rate, and even cholesterol levels.
The following are six ways that chronic mental stress can cause damage to your heart.
Heart Disease. More and more this is being seen as the result of hormonal communications between the heart and the brain, especially when that result is stress.
Heart Attack. Emotional stress, ranging from an angry outburst to the aftermath of a shocking event like an earthquake, can affect the heart in a profound enough way to cause a heart attack or stroke.

Sudden Death. Recognized in the scientific community through electrocardiogram (EKG) measurements, people under brain stress can experience life-threatening irregular heartbeats brought on by unleashed thoughts in their brains.
Broken Heart Syndrome. Broken heart syndrome occurs during highly stressful or emotional times, such as divorce, the death of a spouse, a serious medical diagnosis, or other emotional shock.
Irregular Heartbeat. Mental stress can be a cause of arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat. Having such a heartbeat disorder can spark fear and anxiety as well.
Panic Attack. A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause, and can become psychologically disabling if it happens frequently.
All of these reactions can cause the body to assume a state of readiness. This is known as the “flight or fight” response, and could result in chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, vomiting, weak

8 Exercises to Save Your Heart

Exercise can transform your life and prevent diseases of the heart, brain, and virtually every other organ in the body. Here are eight top choices for exercises you can do to meet your daily requirement.

1. Walking. When it comes to walking, one hour a day will suit your cardiovascular needs. But even if you can only start out with 10 minutes, get started and gradually increase to an hour.

2. Bike Riding. Riding a bicycle outdoors or an indoor stationary bike provides an excellent cardiovascular workout and can also help build strength and increase balance and flexibility.

3. Swimming, Water Aerobics. Swimming and water aerobics are especially good for older people with joint problems like arthritis, as the natural buoyancy of the water buffers joints.

4. Elliptical Trainers and Rowing Machines. The elliptical trainer allows you to move in a natural way that is much like running, but without joint-stressing impact. Rowing machines provide an excellent cardiovascular exercise.

5. Zumba, Other Aerobic Dance Programs. Zumba is a cardiovascular workout that can provide variety when combined with other exercises like walking.

6. Weight Training. Start with weights as small as one or two pounds and progress to higher weights as your strength increases.

7. Calisthenics, Flexibility Training. Calisthenics are exercises that use the weight of the body for conditioning. Examples of these activities include lunges, push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups.
