Hi Jimi,
IGF-1 is a hormone that helps control the growth and development of organs, muscles, and tissues in your body.
Unfortunately, it can also trigger growth in cancer cells. Excessive IGF-1 levels have been linked to growth, metastasis, and even drug resistance in many types of human tumors.
So how much is “too much”? And how can you keep your IGF-1 levels in the right place?
Get the whole IGF-1 story here.
Yours for shutting down cancer,
Ocean Robbins
P.S. Although IGF-1 is a natural hormone produced by the body, many of us have dangerously high levels of it. And certain foods are to blame. Find out what they are, and what it means for you, now.

The Mold-Gut Connection
Hey Jim,

If you’ve ever been in a water-damaged building or touched moldy produce, you’ve likely encountered mycotoxins—toxic byproducts of mold. They’re common environmental toxins which can have adverse effects on many body systems, including the gastrointestinal tract.

While you’ve probably heard about other symptoms that can follow mold exposure, in this podcast Evan and I discuss that mycotoxins can also cause severe problems for your gut. We also talk about how mycotoxins impact gut health and the microbiota and what you can do to help restore your gut health once you are exposed to mold.

Dr. Chauncey Crandall, M.D., writes:

High-fat, low-carb ketogenic (“keto”) diets are gaining praise as an effective tool for battling obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

“Keto diets have been shown to significantly improve insulin resistance, a hallmark of diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s,” said Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., a nutritionist and expert on diet and weight loss. “They also improve many markers that are considered risks for heart disease such as triglycerides, which drop like a rock on a keto diet.”

Special: Coronary Heart Disease: 5 Tips to Reduce Your Risk

For decades, we were told to eat a high-carb, low-fat diet. Prior to the 1920s, Bowden says that Americans ate lard, butter, beef, and cheese but both strokes and heart attacks were less common than they are now. He explains that when you eat sugar, your body becomes adept at using sugar for fuel and lets the fat store in the body.

On the keto diet, your body uses stored fat as a fuel. While the keto diet resembles the Atkins diet, it’s more sophisticated because we now recommend higher quality fats such as Malaysian palm oil, coconut oil, olive oil, butter and dairy fat, and egg yolks.

What does my blood sugar have to do with breast cancer?

It has become common knowledge that excessive amounts of carbs and sugar result in into high blood sugar levels in the body. High blood sugar leads to diabetes, heart disease, headaches, fatigue, vision problems, weight issues, and ultimately inflammation, which is the root cause of all dis-ease. This is still very true, and new 2020 research from the NCBI has shown evidence that diabetes and high blood sugar promote breast cancer proliferation.
Sugar sneaks cancer in
Sugar is a sneaky one; it isn’t just found in ice cream and cookies. Did you know that most barbecue and pasta sauces contain sugar? Sugar also goes undercover in 56 other names. Yes, there truly are 56 (and counting!) different names for sugar! Diastatic malt, maltose, dextrose, ethyl maltol, corn syrup, and treacle, are all just clever names for what is spiking up your blood sugar levels without even knowing it. This is also how the typical American adult daily consumes about 34 teaspoons of sugar daily––3x the maximum amount recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture dietary guidelines. And, those guidelines (which often can be influenced by those funding the study) are for a typical person, not someone conquering cancer and other dis-eases.
Glucose (a simple sugar) comes from the Greek word “sweet.” Glucose gets into your body from eating grains, refined flour products, fruit juices, and white rice, for example. Cancer cells have more insulin receptor sites for glucose compared to your healthy cells, which means that cancer cells get fed first when it comes to your blood sugar. The technology used in a PET scan relies on the fact that cancer cells get fed first.
Sugar revs up your blood sugar and can stimulate breast cancer cell growth. For a deep dive into how sugar fuels cancer growth, please read this blog post.

😻 This week on the podcast, I get real about the power dynamics within relationships! Get ready to look at the hows + whys of navigating polarity + premarital sex in healthy relationships, beautiful human! 😻

Your power is in your no…. Especially if you’re a woman.
scene from the show outlander
I see so many relationships arrested in a dynamic where a marriage-desiring woman chooses to engage sexually in the courtship phase before he ever puts a ring on it. 💍

As time goes by, that ring and what it represents can feel like an assumed eventuality, but when time goes by and it hasn’t happened, often, the woman presses for a proposal… and then the man bends his knee. 🧎‍♂️

But is it because his most primal, predatory self has chosen her, and wants to claim her as his own?

Or is he appeasing her, abiding tradition, and upholding his part to seal the pact their bodies made in courtship?

Does this mean men are in charge of the status of the relationship, and women are the gatekeepers of sex? 🔐

Here’s another question for you:

What would happen if we didn’t have sex before the proposal? Or even the wedding night? 🤯

Tune into the latest podcast episode of Reclamation Real Talk where I really dig into the old question of whether the wedding night is outdated — or radically intimate and empowering.
RR Podcast Image
Reclamation Radio: Reclamation Of Courtship

Having my own experience with marriage and commitment, I feel it’s important to reflect on healthy love and the purpose of marriage as a spiritual practice.

We dive into:

💑 Women’s power in relationships — and it’s not just as the gatekeepers of sex and fun.

💑 The concept of polarity in relationships, and how to find a balance that plays to the strengths of the strong, predatory masculine and the divinely sensual feminine.

💑 The 3 Yesses of healthy love.

💑 The value of love, sex, and marriage, but not necessarily in that order.

💑 Exploring intimacy beyond love, with recommendations for restored connection and safe courtship.

And SO much more!

Listen Here To Reclaim Safe And Empowering Courtship

Love and relationships are supposed to make fertile ground for growth and happiness — but our courtship rituals show the scars of fear and confusion between men and women.

It’s time to do some much needed housekeeping in the courtship arena to bring balance back to partnerships, and build relationships with intention, empowerment, and safety.

And maybe create a safe space of commitment before we imagine that sex is the path to partnership.

xo,
Kelly

P.S. Are you looking for a Reclamation Remedy for your relationships – and every other part of your life?

I’ve got you covered, lovely human! With my new *free* quiz “What’s your Reclamation Remedy?”

All it takes is 2 minutes to uncover what’s keeping you from the life and relationships you want…

….and unlock the path to self-allegiance, self-loyalty, and self-alignment that will shift your relationship with EVERYTHING!

Dear Jimi,
Marama at Home PLUS sold out last week, and we have begun. Even before the first live meeting, we were helping the community in the group chat, students have been learning and implementing, supporting each other, and making new friends. It's always wonderful to be part of. My heart soars every time.

If you missed out, there is one last chance in 2023.

Join me tonight, for my last webinar, and an announcement of the final Marama At Home PLUS course in 2023 — by your special request.

So many of you wanted in to that group at the special discount that it sold out — so for one last time, we are offering the discount and bonuses for this last class, but only until Friday. Pricing will never be this low again.

Cognitive decline is progressive

If you wait, your loved one's brain won't. It's important to act quickly and decisively in order to rescue a brain that's in decline. In my successful study, in my clinical practice, and in other studies by Dr. Bredesen, we have seen that the best progress is made by those who take immediate action upon diagnosis. The longer you wait, the more difficult it is to reverse declines.

Tonight's webinar topic:

Communication that heals

Tonight, Wednesday at 5pm (pacific) You do need to register to watch. Click below to register now.

This is the last course offer in 2023.
You'll get a replay if you register.

Join me tonight

Tonight is your last chance to visit with me on my webinar series. Attend live to ask me questions in the Q&A segment. Register to get the replay.

Take the course

Learn with me how to reverse Alzheimer's at home. This is the only step-by-step at-home course, with live coaching, that teaches you what to do.
Everyone who registers for my Marama at Home PLUS course by Friday gets a bonus 1:1 coaching call with me — that's a $900 value call, included with your course purchase. This is on top of the 12 group coaching calls, and the 11 teaching modules, and the community, and your personal, individualized health coach call with Tyler, and more. AND we have special pricing, through Friday only. You can choose a discounted price, or you can choose to spread out the cost over 3 months. But only through Friday.
See the details here. Spaces are limited for the special pricing and bonuses, so please don't delay.

When is the last webinar?

Time: tonight at 5:00 PM pacific (that's 8pm Eastern)
How: Live on Zoom.
Registration: free but required
You'll get a recording after the webinar.
I teach about how we help people at Marama, and how you can do similar things at home. Our approach is based on the lifestyle and science that Dr. Bredesen has proven to halt or reverse Alzheimer's and cognitive decline, and that we at Marama are living every day. And I'll also be sharing a special opportunity in the calls. :)

Dear Friend,
We’re all worried about aging. While there are plenty of products and suggestions on how to slow down the aging process, the truth is, simply living longer isn’t enough — especially with rising rates of age-related conditions like cancer and dementia. To age well, we need to support youthful energy and vitality, but we also need to protect ourselves against today’s most critical health concerns.
We know that aging is influenced by genetic expression, mitochondrial function (the tiny “engines” within cells that create energy), inflammatory responses, and other functions that take place on the cellular and DNA levels.
One exciting area of research that may hold solutions to aging is the field of epigenetics, which shows how our gene activation is dependent on specific influences from our environment, diets, and lifestyles. Even thoughts and emotions are shown to impact gene expression. These findings are groundbreaking because they show we have much more control over our genetic expression than we once thought.
Essentially, your genes are not your destiny. Advancements in epigenetics show that there are specific ways we can promote anti-aging gene activity and healthy aging on a cellular level.

Episode 330: COLLATERAL DAMAGE
Today on The HighWire, Del speaks with Dr. Joe Mercola who recently had his account, and that of his employees, shut down by Chase bank. Coming on the heels of banks locking the accounts of Canadian truckers and protestors and other non-profits opposing the lockdowns, a concerning pattern of ideological de-banking is now in focus.
Then, Jefferey Jaxen breaks down another week filled with headlines of heart issues in seemingly healthy young adults. After all the effort, the COVID shot is coming into focus as the prime suspect. Then, we take a trip down memory lane to chronicle how Homeland Security labeled us all ‘domestic terrorists’ for trying to warn people about the harms of the COVID shots, masking kids, warnings and attacks meant to achieve COVID Compliance. Now, that mechanism is set to be deployed again, this time to achieve CLIMATE compliance. It’s time to get up to speed, without the fear, on this new controlled narrative.
Finally, we welcome Miriam Grossman, MD, board certified psychiatrist focusing on child and adolescent development, to speak about her latest book Lost in Trans Nation along with her views on the medical, psychological, and political forces seeking to transition children using dangerous drugs and medical procedures, without parental consent.

It all happens TODAY, 11AM Pacific Time, 2pm Eastern, at The HighWire!

Obesity rates have tripled in one generation despite top-level guidance to eat less and exercise more. It's evident that a new approach is needed, shifting away from a narrow focus on calories and willpower and embracing a strategy centered on satiety and nutrient density.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt to discuss his revolutionary satiety-per-calorie approach to combating the obesity and metabolic health crisis. In this episode, Dr. Eenfeldt shares how ultra-processed food fuels overconsumption and why curating our diets around whole foods rich in protein and fiber is key to preventing overeating. They also discuss the least and most satiating foods, the role of hedonic factors, why the total quantity and quality of food matters, and so much more.
Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt, popularly known as Dr. E, is a Swedish medical doctor specializing in family medicine and treating patients with low-carb, high-fat diets. During that time he witnessed amazing success for people with obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Dr. E is the founder and CEO of one of the world's fastest-growing low-carb and keto websites, Diet Doctor, with over 350,000 daily visits. He is also the author of the number one bestseller in nutrition, Low Carb, High Fat Food Revolution: Advice and Recipes to Improve Your Health and Reduce Your Weight, which has been translated into eight languages, including English.
In this episode, Dhru and Dr. E dive into:
  • Examples of some of the least satiating foods (2:19)
  • The definition of satiety and why so many people struggle with it (4:30)
  • Examples of some of the most satiating foods (11:15)
  • Dr. E’s journey from low-carb to satiety-focused (17:30)
  • Why veganism doesn’t work for some people (24:53)
  • Healthy snack foods with low satiety and a high hedonic factor (30:37)
  • How the satiety approach can help support metabolic health (36:00)
  • The link between our industrialized food environment and chronic disease (39:35)
  • Pushback surrounding the satiety-per-calorie approach (44:01)
  • How Dr. E and his team designed the satiety index score (52:29)
  • Why the total quantity and quality of food matters (59:05)
  • Examples of a high- and low-satiety breakfast (1:03:56)
  • Protein recommendations per meal to promote satiety (1:07:07)
  • How to begin prioritizing satiety in your diet (1:06:18)

Hi Jimi,
If you're like most people, the amount of "screen time" you have on a regular basis has grown considerably over the last 5-10 years.
Computers, tablets, and smartphones are sucking our attention at an alarming rate, and there are many consequences to this, but one of the most overlooked is the strain they place on your eyes.
If you find yourself suffering from tired, strained eyes, headaches, or even worsening vision, you might want to try doing "yoga" exercises for your eyes...
  1. Practice palming: Rub your palms together, cup them over your eyes, and relax in darkness for a few minutes.

  2. Blink rapidly: In a relaxed position, blink 10 times quickly, close your eyes for 20 seconds, and repeat three more times.

  3. Gaze up and down: Imagine a clock and move your gaze between 12:00 and 6:00 without moving your neck. Repeat 10 times, then try left to right.

  4. Do eye circles: Breathe deeply and move your eyes in clockwise and counterclockwise circles, resting with palming between.

  5. Shift focus: Hold your thumb at arm's length, focus on it, and slowly move it toward your face until blurry. Move it back and repeat.

  6. Try trataka: Stare at a candle flame three feet away in a comfortable position, focusing on your breath, and close your eyes when they water.

  7. Take breaks: Follow the 20-20-20 rule, reduce screen glare, adjust monitor distance and angle, and modify screen brightness to prevent eye strain. Practice eye yoga daily.

Understanding Your Rights and Responsibilities in Childhood Vaccination: A Guide for Parents

Are vaccines required for your child to attend school?

Picture
Photo by Element5 Digital on Unsplash
With summer winding down and schools about to open, parents around the country (USA) have received or will receive letters of exclusion from their child’s school. The letter will state that your child is required to be up to date on their childhood immunizations according to the CDC, or they will not be allowed to attend school.
You are not told that other than a handful of states that have eliminated both the religious and the philosophical exemptions, you are free to do whatever you believe is best for your child. You can do some, all, or none of the childhood vaccines. Each state may have a different form or process but rest assured; it is the law of your state that you have this right; the freedom to choose.
To learn more about the specifics for your state, NVIC (National Vaccine Information Center) https://www.nvic.org has all the information you need.
National Vaccine Information Center
If you live in California, New York, West Virginia, Maine, and possibly Mississippi, the only exemption allowed is a medical exemption. All states allow medical exemptions, which is where a doctor writes a medical exemption.
Picture
The challenge for doctors is that the states only allow medical exemptions according to the CDC guidelines, which means you can only get exemptions for a vaccine that has caused death or a severe anaphylactic reaction. They essentially don’t allow exemptions for all vaccines. More importantly, doctors who write medical exemptions invite an investigation by their state medical board and risk losing their medical license. This has made medical exemptions something, in theory, one could hope to get, but in reality, and practically speaking, medical exemptions no longer exist.
So, what do you do if you live in one of the states that only allow medical exemptions?
Basically, you either must get your child up to date, home school, or leave the state for one that allows religious or philosophical exemptions. If you feel you have no choice but to get your child up to date, I highly recommend that you consult a medical provider to help you figure out the safest way to do this.
Picture

Parents and guardians, there is nothing more important in your role to nurture and protect your children than how you handle the vaccine situation. There is no one size fits all that makes sense. Each vaccine should be looked at individually, and you should determine if it makes sense for your child, given the prevalence of the disease for which there is a vaccine and the risks and benefits of giving the vaccine or not giving the vaccine.

Putting our children first is our number one priority!

To health and wellness,

5 Signs You Have Digestive Insufficiency And 5 Tips to Correct It

  1. Bloating
A little post-meal bloat is normal for everyone. However, sporting a large, swollen belly hours after a meal, especially if it’s painful and accompanied by gas, is one of the first signs of an unhealthy gut, and an indicator that you’re consuming foods your gut cannot tolerate.

    What You Can Do:
Assess your meals before consuming them. Does your plate contain all your macronutrients (complex carbs, healthy fats, and lean proteins), and is it mostly plant-based whole foods? If your plate contains mostly processed ingredients, sugars, and oils, you may have found the culprit behind your bloating issues. Keep bloating at bay with a whole foods diet LOADED with plant foods. The fiber they contain promotes healthy gut bacteria, which is the foundation for digestive health.

Or, if you find that plant foods trigger bloating, try cooking them, chewing them more thoroughly and slowly, or eating small amounts at a time to build up your body’s ability to break down that healthy fiber.

  2. Chronic Acid Reflux
Acid reflux is a form of indigestion caused by hard-to-digest foods or from overeating. It is so prevalent in modern society that medicine for it has become a common, casual inclusion in many people’s lives. A little, occasional bout of acid reflux can be normal, but frequent or intense acid reflux is not, and can indicate a more serious digestive issue.

    What You Can Do:
Give yourself a digestive booster by following these tips to increase your stomach acid:
    ✅ Avoid overeating
✅ Omit or minimize eating oily and fried food
✅ Don’t drink water with meals to prevent digestive acids from being diluted, and avoid drinking iced water
    ✅ Minimize your meat intake
✅ Consume digestive herbs in tea, such as artichoke leaf, dandelion and mint
✅ Add in bitter foods like arugula, broccoli rabe and bitter gourd, as they help you digest your food and absorb nutrients more efficiently

  3. Irregular Bowel Movements
Our stools are an excellent indicator of our digestive health. Loose stools, or lack thereof, are a sign that something is amiss in your gut. Constipation indicates a lack of some much-needed gut cleansing fiber, while loose stools indicate inflammation.

    What You Can Do:

A happy gut is a gut that keeps moving. Keep your bowels on the move by consuming fiber-rich foods. Any plant-based whole food gets the green light to promote healthy bowel movements. You can even give sluggish digestion an extra boost through juicing vegetables or taking digestive enzymes to help get your digestive system back on track.

  4. Drastic Weight Changes
Stress, certain medications, and poor diet can really slow down our digestion, and a good indicator that this is happening is when you gain or lose significant amounts of body weight, especially when you haven’t made the conscious effort to do so. Weight changes can indicate poor gut function, and may be due to poor nutrient absorption, an overgrowth of ‘bad’ bacteria (SIBO), insulin resistance, and/or a slow metabolism.

    What You Can Do:
Speak to your doctor about your medication and discuss things you can do to make the process gut-friendlier, whether that be changing the time you take your medication, consuming gut-loving probiotics, etc.. Manage your stress levels by taking time to de-stress on a regular basis, and focus on nutrient dense foods to help repair and restore your body back to a healthy weight.

  5. Constant Fatigue
Food is fuel. What you eat and the amount of energy you have go hand in hand. An unhealthy diet not only gives your body a poor source of fuel, it can also disrupt your sleep, nutrient levels, and your gut's ability to create serotonin, ALL of which can leave you feeling tired.

    What You Can Do:
Understand that your gut does so much more than digest your food. Hormones are created and regulated in your gut as well, so keeping it functioning well is essential for nourishment AND how you feel. Counter fatigue from poor digestion by choosing to have your heaviest meals within lunch or breakfast. Focus on increasing your stomach acid (see #2), and as we have kept saying, stick to a diet that consists of whole foods and plant-based ingredients!

Dear Jimi,

Were you able to attend my final webinar last night? No worries, the replay is available here (click) for a limited time.
My Marama at Home PLUS course on reversing Alzheimer's at home always sells out. The July cohort sold out and has already begun. We're already seeing an incredible community form in the group support. Our students are not only learning and implementing new strategies but also supporting each other and forming friendships. I love to see this, and I also love that I get to spend 12 live coaching sessions with the students in this intimate group setting, answering their questions and helping them succeed.

Did you miss out?

Due to the demand and the desire for many of you to join our community at the one-time special discounted rate we offered, we're extending this chance one last time. It's only fair. But hurry, this offer, along with the added bonuses, is only available until Friday — tomorrow. After that, our pricing will never be this low again.

The clock is ticking on cognitive decline

Cognitive decline doesn't wait, and neither should you.

Hi Jimi,
Breast cancer accounts for 30% of all new cancer cases in women each year and the numbers are rising, especially in young women.
These statistics may seem frightening, but I want to provide you with helpful resources to equip you on your breast cancer prevention or healing journey.
Enter Jenn Simmons, MD.
After 17 years as a top breast surgeon in Philadelphia, Dr. Jenn's own illness led her to functional medicine and plant-based nutrition. Her own health transformation empowered her to courageously walk away from a lucrative surgical career in order to provide holistic healthcare and help her patients experience real health.

In our interview, Dr. Jenn exposes the truth about mammograms and how they don't actually save lives. We also discuss the foods that increase your risk of breast cancer, as well as the best foods and lifestyle practices to help prevent and heal it.
I'm thankful for Dr. Jenn and proud of her for being a trailblazer for women's health. This is a super informative interview. Enjoy!

Do you have a special plant you feel a deep connection with? For me, that plant is Lady's Mantle.

They say the essence of something can be found in its name, and the latin name of Lady's Mantle—Alchemilla— perfectly captures its essence: the little alchemist. Personally, I couldn’t think of a better way to describe it.

Lady's Mantle has a rich history in alchemy and is revered for its close connection to the Water Element, especially with dew. Its leaves are shaped like little cups and they collect dew drops overnight which the alchemists would gather in the morning for special laboratory works.

Lady's Mantle holds a special place in my heart because it resonates so much with my practice of plant-based alchemy. And although it was an important remedy in times past, its importance in our modern world is just as strong.

If you’ve never worked with Lady’s Mantle, now’s your chance to get to know this unique herb on a deeper level. In this week's episode of The Plant Path, we'll guide you through the preparation of an infusion, tincture, and even provide you with a formula to make at home.

We hope you enjoy this episode, where you'll gain an alchemical perspective on the little alchemist itself.

Take care,
