Avoid Dangers of Aging Hearts

Your heart is a muscle, and like other muscles it can weaken over time. For instance, if you become less active as you age, your heart’s left ventricle becomes stiffer. This means that less oxygen-rich blood is being pumped out to your body.

In addition, an older heart rests at a lower rate compared to when you were younger. This means that your heart rate doesn’t increase as much during exercise as it used to. This can lead to thicker artery walls and less elastic tissue in them.

Special: More Than 50% of Older Americans Fail to Get Enough Magnesium

There are three common heart conditions that can occur with aging:

  • Atrial fibrillation (AFib)
  • Heart failure
  • Aortic stenosis
Unfortunately, too many people pay more attention to the superficial changes that aging brings, including trying to cover gray hair or smooth out wrinkles, than they do the inevitable changes in health that come with the passing years.

But once you start paying attention to your aging health, you’ll see that such changes aren’t necessarily inevitable. While aging is going to have an impact on cardiac health, the good news is that there are many ways to prevent, delay, or even fix the changes in your heart’s health that come with aging.

🧠 Emotional Eating Forensics:

I heard there is going to be a crackdown on TV advertising of pharmaceutical drugs in the US. The only other country that allows ads to consumers is Australia.
